Only one wish - if there had been a side basket of a crusty baguette slices to mop up all the fantastic sauces ! Wonderful and timely service too - from accommodating our reservation time to offering an extra dish that was some result of an order error. But watch out for the self important, stern and nasty employee at Lilette who acts like she owns the place. She will dress you down for "staying too long" although a time limit is not stated. We were there two hours. Even though we spent considerable money on pastry, bread, coffee, tea and full lunches she went on and on furiously repeating her tyrad. This is the second time she has done this to us. We are mature, respectful, regular patrons of Lilette who live in Qualicum. She is a casting a dark cloud in a beautiful space.

They charge a large price for a tiny piece of fish and a spoon full of coleslaw and a few fries. So very Very disappointed - made my rare eat out meal expensive and very much not worth it. Definitely won't be back and would not recommend to anyone either.

In recent year the aged woman who runs the place has been accusing us of "stealing Ice" and has raised the price every year. In July 2023 she raised it to $150, and told us the commercial fishermen were complaining because they used their own totes???? First visit we bought shrimp cakes. You know if you don't mix jello enough, there's a layer of thick rubber at the bottom? That's the consistency of the shrimp cakes. The next time I asked if the crab cakes were any different, and she said if you don't like the consistency of the shrimp cakes, you're not going to like the consistency of the crab cakes. Second visit was for halibut. Not fresh, but apparently flash frozen and cut the same day as it is sold. Was extremely watery, so...... Third visit is a charm - or not! Fresh sockeye salmon for $27.99 a pound. They were not deboned so I spent half an hour deboning four fillets. Of the four, one still had a section of bone attached to the side which had to be trimmed. One fillet had a large section of fat that had to be trimmed. There goes about $6. Thrifty's and Quality Foods has better seafood - just sayin....

The oceanside lager was the overall favourite in the entire group. Another honourable mention was the fuzzy peach tasting beer which I really enjoyed despite not being a beer drinker. My boyfriend and I ordered the chowder and ribs to share. Despite the food taking quite some time to arrive, it was well worth the wait. My pick is definitely the chowder as it was packed with seafood and flavour! The added bannock was also very delicious - we shared it with our friends and they ended up devouring most of it haha. I recommend this place especially if you're not from around the area as it has great ambiance and food.

Can't believe I am saying this, but there was too much cheese on it and maybe a little shy on the tomato sauce. Peroni beer on tap is a total winner for me.
