Food was meh, bland and virtually flavourless. The service and decor was equally drab and meh. Won't recommend, in fact avoid.

Waitress walked off and never came back with my water. Had to track her down twice to request water before I finally got water. Ordered basted eggs with English muffin, got eggs over medium with whole grain toast. Politely said, I actually ordered English muffin, (did not mention that I didn't order fried eggs) she said "are you sure you don't want the toast? I said, no, I would like the English muffin. She walked off and served several other tables and started filling their drink orders. My husband tracked down a different person to get my English muffin, by then my not basted eggs were cold. I get it, mistakes happen to the best of us. A simple acknowledgment or apology would have been welcome, but not a word. It made me feel like I was the one being difficult and I hate being that person. It isn't cheap eats, so I simply wanted what I paid for. The fried potato hash towns were tasty and well seasoned, the eggs (however they were cooked) were good enough. Overall the food is what you expect for a traditional breakfast. If you don't expect amazing service you will enjoy the meal well enough.

Goat Jack's was a former White Spot which was renovated for new ownership. Unfortunately shortly before they were to reopen a truck was left in neutral at the top of the parking lot and rolled down the slope crashing into the newly renovated restaurant. Thankfully repairs were done and Jacks opened. It's a nice space, maybe a little dark, but with a bright bar area. We were quickly seated in the back left in a very large booth for the four of us. The menu features wings, but has other offerings as well. The lovely K ordered the wings with hot sauce and the nachos, neither of which she found to be very good. I had the BBQ burger, and fries, both of which were pretty good. Taste is a personal matter, but service isn't, and our server was excellent. Her only faux pas was filled our friend's Mike's Hard lemonade glass with water when it was almost empty while she had a full water glass beside. She apologized program's fetched Val another Mike's on the house. The four was more about the service than the food, but again taste is a personal thing, but you can't beat great service. They just have to get the food up a half a notch in our opinion.

Would have been longer but the people in front of us gave up and left. Could see many empty tables, but was told they were reserved. They sat empty well after we were seated; what a waste. The hostess was like a deer in the headlights, when she seated us we learned she was also our waitress! We came for cod (Have since learned it is rockfish) & chips special, but the price was only reduced from $24 to $21, not a great deal. The food took a long time to come. We noticed people who had come after us finishing before we got ours. The fish looked beautiful, and the batter nice and crispy, but the fish was very dry and very fishy tasting. The fries underneath were greasy and soggy. The tarter sauce was runny, and the coleslaw lacked dressing. We would have sent it back but never saw the waitress again until she brought the bill, and took our plates. We made a point of telling her to which she only said "I'll pass that on to the chef". We won't be back, and do not recommend. There are many many better choices in town.

You order from the kitchen at the counter and they bring to food out to you. The case looked to be full of tasty treats and reasonably priced. K had the skillet which came with toast that was so good. The skillet itself contained a good amount of food that was very nicely cooked. My bacon and eggs came with a choice of hash browns or toast. I chose the has browns and added a side of sourdough. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon nice and crispy as specified, along with a slice of tomato and some fresh basil which was a nice touch. My London Fog left a little to be desired, but that was but a small blemish in an otherwise excellent breakfast/brunch! If you are in Parksville I'd heartily recommend the Brazen Poppy Bakery Cafe. We'll be stopping on our way to Victoria tomorrow for sure.
