Having adventured in a few new places in Campbell River we wanted something that we were familiar with, so we walked to Moxie's from our hotel 800 meters away. Yelp maps said it was more than 2 kilometres away, so not sure what happened there. Moxies did not disappoint, and our server Shaye was absolutely excellent. Outgoing, friendly and very good at what she did. Even took the time to make sure K's veggies were cooked on the more well done side that she prefers. Kudos to the kitchen also, for making it happen, small details matter. Her steak was cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes very nice. My Beet salad was very well made although I prefer my beets to be a little more al dente. The blackened chicken was good, if perhaps a little over. I believe they use a seasoned breast, which is not my favourite. Our beverages were nicely made, that said wine is difficult to mess up, but a good martini is not easy. The decor is typical Moxies, they are all pretty much the same. That said familiarity is often comforting, and we certainly felt that way. We will be back for sure. read more

Mid-day meal we order the Cobb salad with salmon, and the Salmon Entrée with sides of roasted vegetables. The Salmon entree was grilled and a nice size of fish. Served with baby zucchini, roasted heirloom carrots. The Cobb salad was very different than any Cobb I have had before. It was an iceberg head halved wedge style topped with whole slices of bacon, croutons, heirloom tomatoes, feta, avocados, capers, hard boiled egg halves with an interesting yolk filling, a tasty white sauce with a slab of grilled salmon on top. It was a very nice change. Dined in a spacious lounge off set from the crowded main room suggested by the host. Service was 5 star and it was excellent way to spend lunch. read more

In our weeks, stay in Campbell River we visited this restaurant twice. The first time, I ordered Mushroom Sirloin, which was excellent. My wife had salmon, which she also liked. My colleague and I facilitating a workshop at a School, and by the time we finished, we realized most restaurants in Campbell River had closed. Someone recommended Moxie's; so we called to check if they were open around 10pm; they certainly were until 11pm; so we hopped in a cab and got there just a little after 10pm. We had all our work materials with us (boxes of folders, a banner and other bags) and decided it would be best if we went directly to Moxie's instead of dropping them to our hotel an then making our way to the restaurant. We weren't sure how Moxie's would feel with all our luggage. Well, they were fantastic! We met the most friendliest waiter, who was welcoming, bubbly and just knew what we needed - food, drinks and relaxation. He helped us into a booth, and told us not to worry about the time (we were cognizant of the closing time). We ordered some food - their happy hour menu looked great; we were both hungry so I ordered red Thai curry with chicken, which came with a side of buttered naan and rice. The portion was very generous and the meal was delicious. The curry wasn't spicy but packed with flavour and generous serving of meat and vegetables. My only regret is not remembering the name of our wonderful waiter! He was kind and very personable. He got the doors for us as we left and just make our experience so great! Thank you so much! Dropped by for lunch Friday afternoon, Nice decor and friendly staff. I ordered the Loaded Burger,aged white cheddar, cheddar, red relish, pickled mustard seed mayo, sautéed mushrooms, bacon & bbq sauce i had on the side as i like to taste the burger first. The burger was good and freshly made along with fries and a side of gravy. The fries were good and the gravy was awesome. Had to was it down with a couple of Canadian bottled beer. We rolled into town late and tried to find a place open late enough that could accommodate my garlic and onion allergy. After a couple failed attempts, we landed at Moxie's and had Kendall as our waitress. She was absolutely AMAZING, checked several times with the kitchen about what we could eat, and didn't once make me feel like a hindrance for my allergy or for the time of night it was. My family went to Moxie's for dinner. We sat outside on the patio where there was a view of the water. I had the shrimp linguine that came with 1/2 a baby lobster tail in a "rustic tomato sauce" which was some herbs and chopped up tomatoes and seasoning. It was very good. It came with a bread slice that was also very good. One of us had the beef vindaloo with jasmine rice and really enjoyed it. The young one had a pizza from the children't menu which was a generous size and for dessert had the volcano ice cream (vanilla ice cream in a dish that steamed-he thought it was cool. Two shared the chocolate cake that was delicious. All in all a very good meal with good service. read more

The service was not good. The food was not worth of the money. Especially, the draft beer was not fresh at all. Not satisfied

I love the Penne Herb Alfredo here, but my experience today has probably put me off going there again. My first issue was a half filled gravy container, I'm an adult and have recently invested in braces, and I use the gravy to soften harder to eat foods. My second issue was I brought the half filled gravy container back and the waitress said that's the max amount they can give for the $1.50 but would graciously give me another one just this one time. Emphasis on the -one time-. Third issue was I got back bit into a fry and low and behold it was hollow on the inside from over cooking. Chicken strips were also completely dried out and inedible. It was over salted to the point of gagging while chewing it. Needless to say I work at the Discovery Harbour Marina located behind this Moxies, and I will no longer be sending our customers there for dinner. read more

I ate here with my husband and my 3 year old daughter and we were pleasantly delighted by the food and especially the service. Montana was five stars. She assisted us with happy hour appetizers and drinks and later followed by great dinner suggestions. She was super friendly and attentive and is the reason I'd give this place a five star review. This had the most amazing service and food.I had the salmon and was blown away by the presentation and flavour.

We were seated in the bar lounge area. Our server was also the bartender. It was impossible to get her attention even when I danced around and waved my arms in the air! I ended up going up to the bar to order our food. She was ok friendly. But just ok tho. Food was just ok. Nothing terrible, nothing great. Edible at least. The bartender was too busy flirting with the cute boys sitting at her bar. Again, she couldn't see me waving and dancing around in my seat so we had to bug another staff member to get our bill. I read about this place on Yelp (of all places) and thought to try it out. When I arrived, the place was dead. Naturally - it was the weekend after the New Year, so there didn't seem to be much going on. A couple folks flirting with the bartender and a single table seemed to be all that was going on. The ambiance is good here. Kind of pub/bar/grill upscale. Lots of dark wood paneling and mood lighting. It had a sort of corporate / chain feel. Everyone is super friendly by the way. Worth mentioning. For food, I ordered the "sushi cones" which sounded pretty good in theory. The description was "tempura prawns with fresh avocado, nori crisps, pea shoots & sesame chili ponzu for dipping." The prawns themselves were delicious, but they were served in paper cones that were filled with rice. Frankly, it was pretty difficult to get in there and dig the rice out after, even though they provided a tiny spoon to do so. The paper gets wet and soggy and then you can't get to the rice. This concept needs to be re-thought out. For a main, I ordered just a plain burger. It was exactly as advertised - plain, and satisfying. No faults here. The drinks were stiff, the service was good, and the ambiance was as well. I'd come here again. read more

We had our annual golf tournament in Campbell River this year and decided to go here for dinner on Saturday night. Fourteen tires possibly slightly inebriated golfers aged mid thirties to early seventies. The food was great, wine was good and well priced(50% off coupon) and company was great. There's one thing you can say about Moxie's; it's reliable. The food is definitely not high-end, but I give them marks for several things; the menu is varied and has something for just about anyone, the restaurant is clean and the staff are always friendly and competent, and the food is fine.
