Fantastic food in a remote area we never would have found without Yelp. The service was very short-handed with one server for the whole dining room. I complimented the young man who was bussing tables on how he was handling everything from greeting, seating, water service and bussing, and he quietly mentioned that he wasn't scheduled to work but was called in because there was no host. The two of them, server and host, kept the whole dining room happy and served with ease. The food was magnificent. Found on Yelp. Made a reservation for my birthday. Sat outside in the warm summer night - couldn't have been nicer weather. We ordered drinks, apps, entrees and shared a dessert. The mixes of flavors were both surprising and incredibly tasty. Never had pesto couscous so good - with grilled octopus. Lingcod cooked perfectly and the venison wrapped with prosciutto was delicious. Wait staff was friendly and funny, attentive and helpful. Bailey's Creme brûlée not too sweet, good crunch on top - better than what we expected. Foodies should make an effort to find this place and go again another night to sample everything the chef offers. There's outdoor and indoor seating. read more

This place has really gone down hill. Had the most incredibly bad meal... my steak had an over all burnt taste, not one seasonal vegetable, a glass of beer that was 3/4 full for $11 !!? My wife's meal was equally as poor and both were ridiculously over priced! Stay well clear. read more

I have been here a few times now. Each for breakfast. Always have had a great experience here. They have a cute cabin theme here. Dark woods and cozy. A patio for sunny days. Food is amazing. Finally had a chance to visit this restaurant .A cozy little place, our breakfast was very good, service too, prices were comparable to most other restaurants. A little bit of a hike from the parking area ,which could be difficult for some. We will definitely go again. read more

This restaurant is in serious decline. I brought my wife here for her birthday, the food was less than mediocre at best... and ridiculously over priced! My steak had an overall burnt taste, the vegetables were totally out of season.. frozen out of a super market bag I suspect ( Brussels and turnips???). Height of the growing season and not a fresh veggie in sight! Oh did i mention the glass of beer, About an 1 1/2" short and hey, only $ 11! We tok two very special friends to dinner at the Anglers, because we had heard it was the best food in Campbell River. We were not disappointed. Our friend, who is quite a gourmet chef himself was impressed with the fine fresh quality of the food and the presentation. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food, service and ambiance. The service was pleasant and comfortable, which topped off a great evening. We will be back, and bring other good friends. A word about the ambiance - simply spectacular ocean front deck! The chefs have incredible talent with food and the wait staff is very attentive without hovering and making you feel uncomfortable. I coordinated a training conference in Campbell River with attendees from the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario, and Manitoba, so we needed a restaurant to accommodate a large group (35-40 people) for a nice dinner that showcased the best that the Island has to offer - amazing fresh seafood in an cozy yet elegant setting with a view of the water and a large wine list. Anglers met all of our needs and more. The feedback I received from the group was outstandingly positive. Anglers were able to accommodate our large group very well and each dish they served was absolutely fantastic. I ordered a meat & cheese board along with the hazelnut crusted chicken and both were so delicious. Thanks to the Chef and his staff for an amazing dinner. A bit difficult to find (located within the Dolphin's Resort in a small wood cabin) but that just adds to the charm. Really good eggs benedict. I don't usually order this dish because I find hollandaise sauce too heavy, but tried it because the table next to me had it and it looked good. Apparently they make the hollandaise sauce daily in their kitchen... and that makes the difference. read more

Breakfast looking over the water is good. Breakfast at Anglers is GREAT! Staff very friendly, and the chef is right on! The special was a FABULOUS fritatta, and the eggs benny looked yummy as the waitperson carried it to the next table. Even had really good gluten free toast. We'll be back!! read more

What an improvement! Went back after months of avoiding Anglers because of past disappointments, and this time the meal was wonderful. I'd say Anglers is back to its previous standard of excellence, well worth a visit. Great atmosphere for winter with the warm fireplace, and in the summer the deck is open for dining. Very good service, too. read more
