Order at desk. They bring your food. A lot of Uber eats and only a few places to sit. Very smalll. Recommended by co workers. Had the snapper and fires with clam chowder. View is right by the boats and tours. Wasn't really sure how to get to. Parked in 2 hr parking at public park and walked into marina area. Omg that was the best fish I have ever eaten. We came here from Qualicum beach for a drive and of course fish and chips. We were going to go somewhere else, but the way they answered the phone was rude. To the fish (halibut) it is was lightly battered and the fish was fresh, just melted in your mouth. The fish had nice colour. The grilled halibut was delicious. The fish was moist and cooked to perfection. The taste buds were dancing just from the fish. The fries were good not too oily. The onion rings were delicious. Crispy and well cooked. I couldn't believe how good they were. The coleslaw was a nice touch to the cut of deep fried food taste. The tartar sauce was delicious. And finally the staff, they were very knowledgeable about their product and I found them very friendly and helpful. Their menu looks great for a fish n chip shop on the bay, but they don't seem to actually offer most of the items. Or they run out really early. So don't get your hopes up for a salmon burger (yes it was salmon season), or a fancy donut. Parking is very limited so walk if you can. Good luck! read more

The snapper and chips I had was the best fish and chips ever. I personally enjoy a breaded fish and chips over the classic battered type. Went to try this fish and chip place as our favourite place was closed and our guests wished fish and chips... well we were disappointed, the halibut was filets (thin)like a slab with a very very light batter, the fish was extremely dry and tasteless . Our guest found the same with theirs,we are all coastal people east and west and found this a bit disappointing . On the plus side the service was excellent and the dock side eating area is great.. note that the dock can get rocky ,so sea legs may be needed. The menu is extensive so lots to choose from and perhaps too much as I am sure most people come for the seafood. Would I go back? Probably not. But then again in their defence it was busy so perhaps an off day. Ours definitely didn't resemble the photos posted above. read more

In this location's previous life as a different business, it was merely a walk up fish n chip window with a few seats inside and a handful of tables outside. Things have changed. Dockside Fish and chips has been in business at this incredible location for over a year now. It's located floating in the Coast Marina, a small marina it shares with a few other businesses and a couple small docks. Right near the ferry terminal that services Quadra Island, Dockside has ample seating outside and quite a few tables inside as well. The newly renovated interior shares space with the compact, efficient kitchen separated by a counter. I really love the feel of sitting outside, bobbing up and down with the waves. Dockside has table service and is licensed, which makes it a great little secret spot to have a beer from the limited selection that they offer and just enjoy the sea air on a warm day. Thanks to yelp we stopped here on our way to telegraph cove. It's the start of the busy season and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed but was friendly and attentive. They were out of the highly recommended halibut and Caesar salad, so my husband got the red snapper and I got the salmon fish and chips. The snapper was the better choice in my opinion- salmon is a delicious fish, I just don't think it ever needs to be breaded and fried. The chips were good- we didn't take them up on the bottomless refills- we were quite stuffed as it is. Cole slaw was fresh and not overly soaking in mayonnaise. I give this 4 stars because of the salmon- wish we had a chance to try their halibut and Caesar salad but I think they were unprepared for the rush of summer tourists. Recommend for sure. read more

Hands down the best fish and chips ever. Michelle, the owner, makes you feel like family and greatly appreciates her customers. This is reflected in the quality of the food being served and the incredible service/ happy attitudes. Staff always seem happy to be there and go out of their way to deliver the best experience ever! I can't wait until the public health restrictions are lifted (COVID) so we can sit on the floating dock again--it's an amazing location. I may have gotten 5 small chunks of salmon could find any other fish??? Wouldn't order it ever again. I stopped at the Dockside for a late lunch today. I had the single piece halibut fish and chips meal. It was excellent. The fish was fresh and correctly breaded for my tastes, not too think like some others. It was a good portion, filling me well with the fries and coleslaw. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is clean and well cared for. When I return to Campbell River, if fish and chips sound good, I will surely eat there again. read more

Service was extremely slow, the restaurant inside looks like a warehouse with supplies & food stacked up all around the customer area, very unappealing! We ordered a two piece red snapper & chips and a chicken club sandwich. The club which came as a wrap, was tasteless and burnt, the Caesar salad was very overdressed. The snapper tasted like old frozen white fish with greasy batter and the chips were hard on the outside, all lacking flavour! Very disappointed, will not go back nor recommend. read more

Rodé up from Nanaimo for a late lunch. Missed out on the Halibut but had the Red Snapper was well worth the ride up can't wait to come back and try the Halibut.
