Delicious! I wished we could have subbed the oysters for something else on our platter, but totally understand why. Very tasty mussels especially. read more

There is a lot going on in that little floating store on the docks. We tried their half shelled scallops with cheese, and they were absolutely delicious. Also found my favourite smoked salmon there...that was an unexpected find. Looking forward to the crabby Bob's Café when they open. read more

Very good service Food even better Ate there right off the dock from on boat on vacation. Will return next time in the area. Really seafood , nothing fried , just fresh and yummy! read more

Crabby Bob's Seafood is the kind of seafood spot that is so rare but incredibly exciting to find. It's not a restaurant but a fresh seafood store that serves some food. We ordered the Loaded Seafood Chowder , Steamed Shellfish Box and on advice from another customer a Lobster Roll . Unfortunately there was no more Seafood Chowder and we got the last Lobster Roll. I thought the bread of the Lobster Roll did not taste that fresh and the lobster was good but I have had better Lobster Rolls. However the Steamed Shellfish Box was absolutely one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had . I don't recall any swimming scallops but the clams and mussels were so fresh and many of them were the hugest I have ever seen. As for service, there is a sign that says "If you don't like our service lower your standards" or something to that effect. The two people working there try to be helpful but there are so many people waiting for their orders that it's understandable that you cannot expect immediate service. As for ambience, we sat on the pier around a small outdoor table. Not fine dining but it was totally worth it. I would go to Crabby Bob's Seafood every time I am in Campbell River. read more

We had the most amazing shellfish and prawns with scallops boiled baskets tonight. All were tender, gently herded and delicious. The owner Abby and her staff are warm and friendly beside excellent cooks and servers. When the new café opens it will be a must go to all year round. Saw chowder and platter that looked amazing. Going back tomorrow! read more

We had a very bad experience in this place! We drove 1 Hour to have a meal, on their website says on Sunday they open until 4pm. We came at 2:40pm and they said that a kitchen is closing at 3pm. They kick us out without meal. So disappointing, will never return to this place! read more

Abby was a great host. Food and service were excellent! 6 in our party and we all left full!

This is the worst place for service. They do not want to service BIPOC clientele. We initially went in to scope out the selection and were told to leave and come back in 30 mins because he needed to attend to the crabs that just had come in. We went for a stroll around the pier and came back after half an hour and we're greeted with a look of "horror". We were then told he does not have prawns to sell to us and to go to thrifty foods for an individual selection of prawns. I would not recommend this place and would rather go to High Tide across the street for better service. read more

okay not sure wht is going on at this place as I have reviewed it well in the past. June 30th we arrived at 11:40 am. I saw two tables with a total of 4 people seated. I noticed chairs weren't placed correctly for 4 people so I simply asked if I could move two chairs to make a table for 4. The young woman who responded must have been Bob, because she was certainly crabby and inappropriate. The chef then came over and told us it would be a 90 minute wait for food and they had no inventory. I don't think I will go back i Will not take guests there any more . Bye bye Crabby Bob. read more

Okay. This is your basic "Take-it-or-bloody-leave-it" crab house. They serve mostly crab with a little chowder, some mussels if you want and either soda or plain old H2O as far as the drinks list is concerned. The service is classic fishing marina, and basic, but friendly. We had crab and seafood chowder. The crab was fabulous. The chowder was equally good. The service was earthy and the whole mess came in at a reasonable price. If you just want crab and a glass of water, and a side of chowder you will not do better. This is a very good, down to earth eatery which will leave you feeling happy. What more could you want? read more

As SF Bay Area natives, we know good crab when we encounter it. And we found exceptional crab at Crabby Bob's! We picked out three 2 lb monsters . . . Not just alive, but fiercely brandishing their claws! Minutes later they were steaming away to succulent deliciousness! Before running away to devour our perfectly-cooked treasure, we added a couple pounds of beautiful Quadra Island clams to our shopping bag. A quick trip to Thrifty for some sourdough bread (also excellent), a stop at BC Liquor for some crisp local wine and we were ready to enjoy the feast! The crab was so sweet that just a touch of lemon and a smidge of Crabby Bob's special garlic and herb spiked melted butter created the perfect bite. Every bit as yummy as the best crab ever in SF! We'll cook the clams tomorrow (they were packed on ice) and update later. Service at Crabby Bob's is very friendly and helpful. Enjoy a bite on the deck, get your food cooked to go or load up on fresh, local seafood. Prices are a skosh spendy, but the quality is worth it. Easy parking, too! Update: cooked the Quadra Island clams (made linguine with white clam sauce, steaming clams with a crisp BC white and throwing in some local cherry tomatoes). Friends declared the clams to be outstanding! Clean, sweet, all alive and incredibly tender!!! read more

Very disappointed. Ordered 3 large crab cooked with garlic butter. Got home and found 3 large crab uncooked & no garlic butter. Waited outside in a howling southeaster for this. Was contacted quickly and will resolve. Thanks!! read more

Been here countless times - usually to buy something to take home (typically fresh crab) and occasionally to eat on their deck. Every time the staff has been fantastic and the food (for home or there) has been excellent. They are always ready with a smile, to offer advice, and answer questions. The old school marina setting can't be beat. It's about a 90 minute round trip for me to shop there and absolutely worth it. read more

We stopped in for lunch. We had the sampler platter, and it did not disappoint. The oysters were fresh, mussels and clams excellent and the Crab was to die for!! A must stop when you aren in Campbell river!! read more

I live in the area and come to Crabby Bob's whenever I need impeccable seafood. You cannot find fresher and better kept product anywhere. If I need a specialty product Abby will get it within days, if I need a large amount for catering, Abby will hold it for me. I love coming here for the smiles, the kindness and the quality read more

Good and friendly customer service. Love the freshness of their seafood. If you are in the area, you can't afford to say "no" to this place. Stop by and let them show you what 'fresh' really means. We will be back next time we are in the area. Keep up good work. Hope more people know about this place. read more

On our way back from Telegraph Cove to Courtenay, we stopped at this wonderfull place. Searching for some good food for the evening, a fresh sockeye salmon was shown to us. No way that we could leave without it. For us as Europeans the price was perfect. Only 30 dollar, equals €22,50. It was so fresh that we made a plate thin sliced salmon combined with avocado, cherry tomatoes and strawberries, with a balsamico dressing. Just try it! read more

Amazing little spot - the staff were incredible and made us feel right at home. I don't think you can get fresher tastier seafood unless you catch it yourself. Wish I had more time to go again this week, it was that good! read more

Seafood should be eaten fresh and I have always found fresh, local, quality seafood at Crabby Bob's. Actually, Abby runs the store and she is the opposite of crabby. She is friendly, helpful and knows her product inside out. You will not find turbot that was raised in a mud puddle or shrimp from the BP spill at Crabby Bob's...just fresh, locally caught and processed seafood. The quality is consistently high. read more
