Last year Sandy came in on a national holiday to help us out getting our fish ready when we had to leave town suddenly. She went above and beyond to help out, and is personable and super knowledgeable. We are back this year and still really happy with the service and quality High Tide provides. I know a bit of the back story on that one star review and in my opinion it is uncalled for and leaving out lots of important details. That's one of the problems of reviews like this, just one side of the story and vengeful or upset people can just lash out. We fished for three days and caught our limits and delivered them for processing at High Tide Seafoods. We asked to have our catch ready to travel the morning of the fourth day. Our fish was ready to go in 30# cooler boxes, filleted, packed in 1 # vac. sealed portions, and frozen. Fourteen hrs. later, at home, everything was still very frozen. BE CAREFUL WHEN SHIPPING YOUR FISH FROM HERE! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I usually don't give bad reviews, but we just lost our salmon that was processed and shipped from High Tide Seafood and want to warn others of the problem that we experienced. We were never told from our fishing guide at Coastal Wildnerness Adventures, High Tide Seafoods, or the UPS store that there are NO Guarantees when shipping your fish. They charged us for processing and shipping, on top of the $2800 for the trip itself and because of the FDA our fish was pulled and not properly cared for, which completely ruined it. When it arrived it was immediately opened and the temps were 51 & 56 F degrees. They had held my fish back in their store until the end of our trip. When I called to have it shipped the girl had no idea of what she was doing and said that Sandra the owner would call me, I never heard back from her. I called again a few days later - left a message, NO response again. Then my husband called and they answered - they still didn't know what to tell us about the status and said that Sandra would call us back... you guessed it, NEVER heard from her. We did get a call from the UPS store that shipped it and they were the ones that told us that the FDA held it up in transit. The fish should of been shipped overnight on August 16th, we didn't get our fish until August 25th - it was held at FED EX in California for 2 days. When I called and talked with High Tide about at the very least getting reimbursed for not shipping in time, nor communicating with me... again... Sandra will call you --- NOPE she does it again and blows us off. Don't ship your fish from these people - they don't care about you or your shipment. If you lose your fish due to FDA inspection - You will not be compensated for your loss and as a "tourist fisherman" you probably paid about $80 a pound. If we would of known about this, we would of processed and flash frozen it and cared for it ourselves and brought it home on the plane. read more

We went fishing and caught a lot of fish and we had no idea what to do with it. We were recommended to go to Hightide Seafoods to have our fish processed. We were offered next day processing to be able to take our fish with us but that was not an option as we were still traveling. We decided to ship and were not disappointed. They gave us all options, even as to ship the fish to Vancouver for us to pick up on our way home but we just weren't able to do that. They shipped us our fish in a very timely manner and answered all our nervous questions! I highly recommend them and their service! read more
