Drove over two hours to visit this location, only to wait another two hours for a table, and unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the expectations or the price tag. The drinks were very disappointing -- they tasted heavily of sweetener with very little alcohol and were not well-balanced at all. We spent around $200, and I honestly don't feel the quality of the food justified the cost. The king crab legs were overcooked, the corn was overcooked, and even the eggs were overcooked. The only real highlight of our visit was our waiter, who was attentive, friendly, and consistently checked on our table throughout the meal. Ambiance was nice and family friendly. Based on this experience, I would not recommend visiting this location close to closing time, and unfortunately, I don't see myself returning to this particular location. read more

I love this place because I can eat some good seafood boil and catch a game at the same time. The seafood boil was hot and fresh. It was very seasoned well. The corn and sausages are a must. I really love the fact that gumbo is available here. It's one of my favorite foods!!! I'd recommend getting refills on drinks often if you accidentally or unintentionally get any of the food items spicy. Service was nice and friendly too especially since it was busy. One thing I can honestly say is that, boiling crab will always hit the spot! Never had a bad experience here. I am a crawfish lover! Preferably live, but frozen will do the job. Today they had live crawfish so I got 1 pound, whole shabang XXX with extra garlic. Omg.. they were huge today! The claws were so juicy and had lots of meat also. I love The Boiling Crab. It is my favorite seafood boil spot and the staff is always nice and friendly. I really love ordering the shrimp with the shabang sauce, corn on the cob, some crawfish, some lemons, and a side of jasmine rice. All of that just hits the spot. This location is incredibly busy and the wait can be excruciating. I would recommend going right when they open or try to put your name on the Yelp waitlist to ease the wait. The downside is that, every time I have gone, this location never has fresh crawfish and some things are sometimes sold out, especially on the weekends. But oh wells, put the sauce on anything and I am sold lol. A little tip. If you want more sauce in your bag, just add some water and lemons into your bag before you eat and shake shake. It will also make the sauce less salty and you can easily spoon the sauce onto your rice or noodles. The restaurant is big and is on the louder side, but lots of tvs on the wall to enjoy sports and shows. read more

I've been coming to Boiling Crab for years, and I've always loved the food, but today's experience gave me another reason to love this restaurant even more. After eating, I accidentally left my keys on the table and walked away. When I realized they were missing, I immediately went back, thinking they had been thrown away with the paper covering the table. Unfortunately, no one had found them, so the manager kindly sent someone to check the garbage. When that didn't work, I decided to look myself. I want to give a special thank-you to the manager, whose name I unfortunately didn't get. He was incredibly helpful, supportive, and willing to help me search without hesitation. I'm also so grateful to Abel, one of the employees, who saw us looking through the garbage and immediately jumped in to help. Without me even having to ask, he helped search for about 15 minutes until he finally found my keys! I cannot express how thankful I am to both of them. They absolutely did not have to go out of their way to help me like that, but they did, and it meant so much to me. I was so stressed about losing my keys, and their kindness and willingness to help turned a stressful situation into such a positive experience. This is what outstanding customer service looks like. It's not just about serving great food; it's about having employees and managers who genuinely care about people. Came for Lunch right when they open at 3pm and waited about 5-10min. Got a booth and went over the menu. They now serve Truly Margaritas, and I believe I saw some other new items in the menu. After reviewing the menu, I decided to order the bang bang scallops, xxx spicy and lemon pepper fries. I don't know why I always do this to myself and decided to order the spiciest item in the menu. There is almost always a wait here usually around an hour but it makes sense since there are not many Boiling Crab locations nearby. Make sure you sign in on the iPad once you arrive. The food is worth it every time. I highly recommend the Whole Shabang sauce because it has the most flavor. I usually pair it with a raspberry sweet tea which balances everything out perfectly. Some things to keep in mind: they don't offer deveined or head off shrimp options, and they don't give you a bucket for the trash Overall everything was very delicious and our server was incredibly friendly even though the restaurant was extremely busy. She still had a great attitude which really stood out. The atmosphere has a relaxed beach hut vibe which fits perfectly for a boiling crab restaurant. This place always seems busy which makes me think that their seafood is somewhat fresher. My family is a fan of the shrimps while I love the crab. It seems like every time I have gone they are out of the blue crab, so I ordered the snow crab legs. This last time I went It was a lot of work for such little reward. Each leg had really little meat or it was all bunched up towards the end. So definitely a hit or miss with many nearly shallow legs. My family had no complaints about the shrimps, besides the medium spice level being a little too hot and the mild being like nothing. There should definitely be a half way option. Total for 5 people was $180. 4 pounds of shrimp, 1 pound of mussels, some corn, 1 pound of snow crab, 1 order of lemon pepper chicken tenders/fries and 3 orders of rice. Overall a fair price for the shrimps, not so much the crab legs. Note- they offer thin gloves if you don't want to get too messy. The mess is not only worth it, it is part of the fun. We always get shrimp. Lots and lots of shrimp. Let's see, on some more recent visits, we've tried and added to our favorites the crab fries. The crispy French fries are topped with crab and a creamy sauce (Kewpie?) which really helps to tame the fire that is spicy wholeshabang! The softshell crab, King crab, clams, and Dungeness (when it's in season) were all enjoyed by all. The wait is always crazy long. Even if you try and time it to arrive after the first seating, other people have the same idea. What tends to work for us is arriving 15-30 minutes before they open. Brian was the best. Amidst the madness in the restaurant. He was calm, efficient, and attentive. It was hella busy as usual, with a 2-hour wait. Note to self to always have snack before heading here or you'll be starving by the time you actually get seated. I would say this seafood boil spot is pretty average taste wise, but they were super convenient and quick with my order. Some parts were a bit overcooked while some parts (especially the ends / claws) could be cooked a little more. They provided lemons but I felt the sauce was missing a little something, maybe some zest. Wings were juicy and had good flavor but would be even better if the skin was crisped up a bit more. Waiting to be seated here is almost a given no issues there. Staff was very friendly and great service so that was good. The flavors here were not like other places I would rather go to that I will not mention. Overall it was ok but I can go other places with better flavors and less waiting which I actually did the next day. 2025 update. Boiling Crab is the best Cajun seafood restaurant in the bay area. There are a lot of copy cats of their whole sha-bang sauce. Nothing beats the original. We lucked out yesterday on a Saturday and didn't have to wait at 12:15pm. The restaurant was full by 12:30pm. We all ordered bags of shrimps ($18 a pound), crabber fries $16, sha-bang shrimp $14, wings $12.50, fried shrimp basket $16. The XXX spicy level isn't that spicey. Busy and delicious as usual! We came at 5:30pm on a Saturday and waited about 1.5 hours. You have to go in person to add yourself to the waitlist but they will text you when it's time go to back so you can leave if you'd like. As expected, the restaurant was packed, but not excessively noisy. They have games on the TVs and play 2000s hip hop and r&b in the background. The service was friendly and prompt though they didn't check in very often. The food was delicious. Catfish was perfectly cooked and seasoned, seafood boils I always get the whole shabang and it was tasty. Arrived here at 6pm on Tuesday night and it was surprisingly very busy. We added our names to the Yelp waitlist and got seated 15-30 mins after. The service was very quick. They came with waters, aprons, lemons, and salt and pepper almost immediately. They took our order and the food came out quickly as well. We ordered the Cajun fries medium (spicy after a while), shrimp in mild and medium, and clams in medium. Their medium spice is inconsistent. The clams were super spicy and the shrimp medium was medium spicy as requested. I've been to other boiling crab locations and I'm glad the seafood boil flavor is consistent throughout. It's packed and busy and can be pretty loud in there. They clean very well after a party leaves and are quite efficient with their turnover. read more

I always get the whole shabang mild, shrimp/crab and a side of cajun fries. My sister and I love coming to Boiling Crab as it brings us both a sense of nostalgia to when she would visit me in college during her summer break. We first had Boiling Crab in Los Angeles and the flavor is consistent no matter which location we've visited. We came for dinner on a Friday night and the wait was ~1hour. They don't take reservations, but there is an iPad with a Yelp waitlist that you can add your name to. Note, you do have to be at the restaurant in order to add your name to the waitlist. When we visited on 1/17/2025, frozen crawfish (they didn't have live available) was $14/lb, and shrimp was $16/lb. We added 2 corns ($1.85/each), and a sausage ($7.50/link) to our bag. We recommend the Whole Shabang sauce. Rice is a must for us and was $2.50/bowl. We also ordered their Fried Catfish ($13) and Fried Calamari ($10). I don't recommend the catfish at all as it was extremely dirty tasting. However, I hear that is what catfish typically tastes like so if that is your forte, be my guest. The calamari was fine, but nothing special. We'll stick with the non-fried options the next time we visit. This restaurant is extremely popular and there were people of all ages (infants - elderly) dining when we visited. It can get a little messy and they do offer bibs and gloves if you want to use them. There is plenty of parking available as it's located in The Plant Shopping Plaza. Minus one star because the automatic gratuity calculator is calculated on the post-tax amount. I don't have a problem tipping, but please be aware that tip is calculated on the pre-tax amount. read more

Tried this place out this past Thursday night because people always hype it up. I wanted it to be good. However, the shrimp was mushy and the snow crab legs were overcooked, flakey and dry. I've never had dry crab . Seafood just overall didn't taste fresh, the sauce didn't make up for it either. The servers were awesome and checked up on us, and the calamari and Cajun fries were good.
