    Blackened Chicken Caesar Wrap
    Jennifer B.

Went to The Boiler Room for my niece's 18th birthday dinner the other night and was very disappointed. I arrived about 10 minutes after most people had arrived. I sat at the table and there was no water. The two small pitchers of water were empty. I asked the server for some water and a draft beer. 1/2 hour later, both were delivered. The building was uncomfortably warm. The large table that was behind us was dirty when we arrived and remained dirty when we left. Service was slow and food was inconsistent. My Sister-in-law ordered "The Works" pizza and the cheesy bread. Both looked perfectly fine. My niece ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza and it was inedible. It was 75% charred (burnt) and only a few pieces could she eat. My Dad ordered the Chicken Bacon Artichoke pizza. It had very little bacon, and was sooooo dry. Another family member ordered their Charcuterie board, that also came with a pretzel. The pretzel was another positive. The sauces (cheese and mustard) offered were not that great. The charcuterie itself was okay. The meats were all cut funny. One end would be paper-thin and the other would be thick. The olives were also warm. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Caesar wrap, which was good and for $2 got the side salad instead of their "potato wedges." When it was delivered, there was no salad. There was ranch dressing and "potato wedges." The wrap was apparently rolled on the same surface as their overcooked pizzas, because my hands were black from ash. I had no napkin to clean the soot from my hands. I did eventually get a napkin and the salad, which I took home for lunch the next day. Also, the potato wedges are like fried breakfast potatoes. My brother ordered a salad, which he got without any silverware to eat it. The menu indicates you're going to get about a 25% char on their pizzas. My Sister-in-law's Mom thinks that just means that you should expect your pizza to be overcooked. I have eaten pizzas all over and have had many wood fired pizzas that aren't charred as much as most of these were. The only two that enjoyed their meals were my Aunt and Uncle. They especially enjoyed their brownie dessert.

Food: 4/5 Drinks: 4/5 Price: 5/5 on $12 pizza Tuesday Service: 5/5!! Our server was awesome! She was the only one in the whole place and still managed to be personable and on it. Great food that's an great deal on Tuesdays when you get $12 pizza, even better if you go during happy hour for 40% off all alcohol. The cocktail I ordered knocked me out on an empty stomach and it was $4.50 during happy hour so it'd say that's worth it!! Rounding down to 4/5 from 4.5/5 overall because value we experienced was only Tuesday-specific, but definitely a solid stop!

We were experiencing rolling blackouts tonight and our house was so hot from the high temps, that we decided to go out. When we got there it took about 10min for someone to even greet us. Once they finally did we waited another 5-10min for a table, which was not bad. Once we sat it was all downhill. Took about 15min for waters. When ready, we placed our order: two pizzas, one Greek goat and one the works, two kids cheese pizzas, a chicken poppers, and a half Thai salad add chicken. We waited for 25-30min, no food. She didn't even come back and refill our waters. It was 110° outside, probably 89° inside the restaurant, and we can't even get water. Finally our waitress comes back to refill after about 40min and I asked if she knew how much longer it would be on the food. We had three kids with us, one of which is 2, time is sensitive at this point. She says she will check and walks away. She goes to the computer and is checking for our order. I see her click on our table and then PUT THE ORDER IN. Then she doesn't even came back to us - she walks off to take care of something else. When she finally comes back she says "they just came out of the oven and will be right out" 5-10 min later..... we see lots of pizza go out to other tables, but not us. Five min after that she brings me my salad and says "salad first and then the pizzas will come"..... another 10min later.. the rest of the food finally comes. Bottom line she forgot to put the order in, didn't take responsibility, just avoided our table and played it off like it would be right there. The pizza wasn't anything to write home about - the eatability of the was terrible - you could barely pick it up without the toppings all falling off. The sauce was bland, the crust was soggy/greasy and burnt at the same time, none of us cared for their ranch, and the chicken on my Thai chicken salad was literally frozen grilled foster farms chicken strips that they reheat (and overcook) and throw on a salad. The dressing on the salad was decent though. This was a terrible experience and we will not be returning.

Came here to sit out on the patio on a nice sunny evening. First time here been wanting to try their pizza thin crust. Well it didn't disappoint at all. Flavorful and delish. My kids loved the homemade pretzel they were super good I definitely recommend. Parking was a little bit tight around dinner time.

Had a lovely lunch at the Boiler Room! It was pretty empty inside so service was fast. I got a Lemon Basil Hard Cider and their lunch special of a half salad and half pizza for $12. The Boiler Reduction pizza was good but I didn't love the onions as much as I thought I would. Perhaps onions on pizza is not my thing. The House Salad with Gorgonzola ranch was nice. Considering I don't eat a ton, these were perfect portions for me and at a great price too! I'd definitely come back here for lunch again.

Nachos , bbq chicken pizza, house salad.

Stopped by their happy hour & Tried out their bbq chicken pizza and salad that's apart of the lunch deal. Also tried the chicken nachos, they were really good but too many chips compared to toppings, was good though! Forgot to mention, their pretzels are amazing.. didn't get a picture, too busy enjoying! Definitely will be coming back.

Absolutely one of the best wood fired pizzas I've had in a really long time. Highly recommend the wings too!!! The bartender whipped up perfect tasting drinks and the waitress was attentive and friendly. It was Clean and had wonderful outdoor area. We will be back for sure!!!

Honestly, Wooden City really lives up to its hype. It's an upscale spot right in downtown Spokane,…read morebut still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Definitely one of the best-quality restaurants in the city, where every dish was thoughtfully made and packed with flavor. What we ordered: Starters: - Spring Salad: Super fresh and well-balanced. The snap peas were crisp, with strawberries added for sweetness, and the goat cheese + pistachios gave it a creamy, nutty contrast. The lemon & tarragon vinaigrette tied everything together with a light, herby flavor. - Jerk Cauliflower: Crunchy cauliflower with Caribbean spices with a creamy jerk sauce, good as a side Appetizers: - Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp: Really juicy and spicy from the Cajun spice. There's butter to dip in but I found it too greasy and prefer lemon instead. - Blistered Hungarian Peppers: Smoky pepper with some sweetness and savory from the sausage and cheddar. Served with a toasted focaccia that soak up all the sauce. Main dishes: - Chicken Schnitzel: One of the must-orders. Crispy, golden breading, super tender inside. The lemon & caper butter sauce added acidity and richness that elevated the whole dish. Yoy have to order extra because it's never enough for the table. Yes, it's that good. - Marbled Duroc Pork Chop: Another favorite . Juicy and tender, with 'nduja salsa brava bringing a spicy depth, while lemon tahini and marcona almonds added creaminess and crunch. I always missed tasting this dish like my first time - Beet Ravioli: Earthy and slightly sweet flavor, nice texture but I hate goat cheese so I'm not really a fan of this dish - Pesto Bacon Pizza: Delicious crunch, loved the combo of mozzarella and gorgonzola, kind of creamy with a bit of funk. Balsamic do help balance and gave it a sweet tangy flavor, or else it would be too heavy for me (yes, not a pizza fan) Drinks & Dessert - Not Mai Tai mocktail: very aesthetically looking drink, but a bit too sweet to my liking - Apple crisp: cozy and warm, with baked apple & pecan crumble and served with vanilla ice cream on top. Delicious ice cream. - Pumpkin cheesecake: My 3rd favorite of the night, I still dream about it!! Rich, smooth, and perfectly spiced, you shouldn't skip this!!! That said, I do have to take away a couple points for timing. Our foods took 45 mins to come out even though I had reservations and note the menu items via the email, and the wait time between each dish was also... very confusing. It broke the flow of our meal. But once the food hit the table, it was hard to stay mad, so I forgave them.

I feel like I just went to a dress rehearsal about a play about a group of friends who got together…read moreand said "How about we open a restaurant? That would be fun!" Tonight was just so strange. First, I had no idea who was an employee. There were two girls that were going around together over and over, they kept stopping at tables so I think they worked there...but they never had anything in their hands. Our server seemed to keep forgetting we were there. Or just forgetting she was employed in general. Seriously just not with it. She was very nice...when she remembered we were there. I will say the pizza crust tasted amazing. So many places that serve pizza think of the crust as just something to put toppings on, but this had great flavor. Sadly, it was rolled too thin and said toppings made it somewhat soggy. Caesar salad was ok. Romaine was really fresh and crisp and the homemade croutons were still a little warm. Very good. However, the dressing was rather bland. And when I asked for pepper for it, our waitress first had it in her head that I expected some kind of peppers on my salad. When she finally understood I meant black pepper, she went away. Eventually she returned. Not with a pepper grinder or a shaker, but a sauce bowl that had about 3 tablespoons of black pepper in it. I wouldn't use that much pepper if I cooked for myself for a week and used it with every dish. Had to ask for knives for some of people's meals. I will say the spicy lamb rigatoni was amazing, pasta just right and the sauce and flavor was peak. I am just not sure what to say, other than this was the strangest and most disorganized dining experience I have ever had. I think if a grown up showed up and brought the kids into line, this place would be amazing. Also, for what we paid, I expected to be wowed, not left wondering what I just experienced.

The restaurant had a salad bar, large tables for big parties and a spacious dining area. There was a dedicated bar area, no minors allowed. There were lots of TVs playing sports, definitely a restaurant for any crowd. We ordered a large white pie and pepperoni pizza. The large pizza had 8 slices. My husband ordered a mug of blue moon. It took about half an hour to get the white pizza. We were almost done with the pizza, still waiting for the other one. My husband couldn't flag the server down for another blue moon for about 20 minutes. Another server got confused and tried to give another table our pepperoni pizza. The server took the pizza back to the kitchen and then came back to our table. It took almost an hour from arriving to get the second pizza. The white pie was overwhelmingly oily, too much cheese. The pizza was soggy and droopy because the cheese. The oil was dripping down our hands. The pepperoni pizza was better, classic and less oily/cheesy. The service was lackluster. There were only 2 servers, which was shocking for Sunday lunchtime. I would come back but not during the same time. The bill was $85. I didn't feel like tipping 20% after the service, but I did because I've worked in a restaurant before. I found it distasteful that there was an option on the menu, "round of beers for the kitchen $5." I tipped 20% that goes to the entire staff. I googled if that's a common menu thing at bars, it's not.

The restaurant itself is located at the bank of the river in Spokane, so it is in a nice, appealing location. The service was actually a lot faster than I had expected and at first, that made me a little bit more weary. I liked that I was able to order a slice of any of the toppings and I could order a whole pizza and have half of one kind of topping and half as another kind of topping. It allowed me to try three different toppings. The Green Goddess was excellent and I highly recommend it. The Sausage Arugula had really well made homemade sausage and I would definitely get it again. I also got the chicken pesto which was flavourful and also amazing. The pizzas were Neopolitan style and were cooked very well. Prices however are pretty steep for pizza. I had one whole pizza (two different toppings) and two slices and was close to $50. Definitely not somewhere I would go regularly because of how expensive it is, but otherwise the food is great!
