We hadn't been in for a while as our last experiences weren't great. It is now under new management and the differences in service were obvious. The staff this go around were super friendly and quick with refills. All the way around attentive to customers. They also did a nice job keeping the place clean and tidy. On this evening the large Hawaiian pizza was on special. It was oh so good and large enough for lunch leftovers the next day. First of all service great! But the pizzas were not anything to write home about. Something has changed. The crusts were thinner and tougher. The pepperoni had big pieces around the edge. Chopped up pieces in the middle. Never seen such a thin pepperoni pizza. The Thai Chicken pizza had chunks of tiny chicken cubes. Way to many and not enough of the other ingredients. The Meat Coma felt like where's the meat coma? All tiny cubed meat. Felt ultra processed And cheap. And expensive to boot! 1 large pepperoni, 1 medium Meat Coma, 1 medium Thai, 1 small cheese. $95.00. Ambiance was great. Clean and welcoming. What could you do to improve? This place needs a remedial class on customer service. We placed a take-out order, and found that one of the pizzas we received was wildly incorrect. When we called about the mistake, we were told not to do anything with it, and that we would have to show the "proof" we received the wrong pizza. Also, that they might want the entire thing back, so don't eat any. It sounded a lot like we were being accused of scamming them. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and went to visit the restaurant in person. I walked in at 9:15pm on a Saturday and sat at the bar. And sat. And sat. I was never acknowledged by any of the staff, although they saw me come in and sit down. They were certainly friendly to other patrons that came in behind me that they seemed to be friends with, as I sat there and was ignored. So I drive truck for a living and visit places all over the US and Canada. McClain's Pizzeria has become a "I must return" place for me. In fact, I can't wait to return!! I ordered a pound of Hot Wings and a Calzone. I must begin with the Hot wings. Their "house made Mac Daddy" sauce is awesome. This sauce is so good I was scooping it off the bottom of the tray with my calzone. I wouldn't call the sauce scorching spicy; in fact, it's more of a sweet spicy and it's perfect. I order ranch cups to help tone down the hot wings, but this sauce was so good I didn't want to ruin it with ranch. That's how good I think this Mac Daddy sauce tastes. I cannot wait to return and order these again. Don't be afraid to order these because it says "Hot" wings. These will not burn your tastes buds off; They will excite them though. The Calzone was excellently prepared and cooked. There was a lot of the meat and veggies I requested and the perfect amount of sauce to make it taste great without sauce spilling out with every bite. The crust is a perfectly flavored and tossed dough so that it's thick enough to taste but not so thick that it takes over the flavors of the filling. I was so pleased with this Calzone I can't wait to get an actual pizza next time I visit. If your in the area, I HIGHLY recommend stopping here and trying the food. I ordered take out, so I didn't get to sit around the restaurant for long. I did notice a lot of seating and it was very clean. Ya'll catered our lovely wedding and it was a huge hit!!! So many different varieties of pizza, caesar salad and cheesebread paired perfectly with all of the alcohol! Winky face. We had all the food under a white tent, with a beautiful wooden buffet table and it didn't look too tacky like I was worried about. It was perfect!!!!!! I didn't want to pay the extra hundred dollars or so to have it delivered, so I had family pick it up for us after the ceremony and everything was ready for them when they got there to pick it up. We paid for it over the phone the day of on my credit card. Pretty simple. They were able to also give me a quote over the phone. Leftovers were amazing when we were hungover. Haha. read more

My kind of pizza! We ordered the McClains Combo. Lots of cheese, good amount of toppings, slight spice to the sauce, and a good crust...overall, pretty tasty. My better half said she liked it too, but too much cheese!? Can't win sometimes in a house divided. Next time I'll get her a veggie and see what she has to say. I came here on National Pizza Day and it was a great choice. We had a huge group and were able to all enjoy our pizzas. The space is very sports bar like, loud and joyful, with all the pizza shenanigans. They had some One Tree Cider and I love spots that support local through their products. It truly is amazing for me. We did not have a salad but the greek looking one sure was beautiful and now I wish I had ordered it. We ordered a 10 inch pizza which was perfect to share. Greasy and yummy, pepperoni and cashews (her choice, not mine) but it was pretty good. I also tried a slice from a friend of mine that had artichokes and I just love artichokes on pizza. McClains is hand down one of the best Pizzerias in Washington State. We wanted to get off the beaten path from downtown and we Anthony Bourdained our way into this little shop. Lucky enough for us the owner happened to be there. Rob is one of the nicest guys out there and gave us some insider info. They only use the highest quality galbani mozzarella cheese and you can taste the difference. They also have the only rotating pizza oven on the east side of the state. We started with Buffalo Chicken Cheesy Bread which was awesome with a tap IPA. We dined on the Greek and Ostendorf. I don't think I've ever eaten that much pizza in my life. With all the TVs the game is easy to watch from anywhere and the staff is a bunch of hard working young folks. On top of all that we learned this is a Veteran Owned business and were happy to support that. Rob also let us know all the support that they provide for local high schools and teams. I went here with my dad for dinner the other night. This place is so cute inside, kind of a pizzeria Pub. My dad and I split a medium pizza, half McClain combo half chicken bacon ranch pizza for $22.99. My dad said the McClain combo was very tasty and bountiful with the toppings. My chicken bacon ranch also had good flavor but the crust was very bland. I wish the dough was allowed to rise for a little longer to develop some more flavor. Though the crust had good structure, I felt the blandness took away from how good this pizza would have been. Another opportunity at this location was the service. It took a long time for our waiter to come over to our table, then to come back and take our order, and he only came and refilled our drink once in the 45 minutes that we were there. Excellent pizza! I had not been to McClain's in around 5 years before last weekend, and it is as good as I remember. The crust is especially good, I like a most simple/plain crust. And the pizza is just the right thickness, not too thin or deep dish. I like all kinds of pizza, no discrimination based on pizza thickness, but I enjoy "medium" the most. Nice place, though it has changed a bit since the last time I was there. Waitress was friendly and took our order quickly. Don't bother ordering online. These people know how to make food. They are pretty much useless at anything else. Apparently they cannot accept orders for the next day. At first the lady at grub hub told me it was too late (10 min.), they would make and deliver the food. I raised hell and told her to call the pizza place and check. Been here a few times but the total lack of customer service had me walk out the last time I was here. There were at least five people working but for some reason no one is waiting tables. I don't get it, 20 minutes and no one bothered bringing us a menu. Won't come back ever again. Terrible. No idea why they have all those people working if they aren't going to serve customers. "Well, next time you'll know" Super Bowl Sunday called third quarter to get a pizza, I asked if the kitchen is backed up and they said they weren't busy - that should've been my first clue. I ordered a custom pizza half combo and half barbecue, chicken bacon and ranch. I went to pick it up, the place was fairly empty (two tables and a few people at the bar ) I paid and within minutes my piping hot pizza came out of the oven ! So far so good. As they put the ranch in the box, I looked and saw it was not my pizza - it was covered in jalapeños! As we reviewed the order, it become clear that even though I paid for a "creat your own pizza" she said we have a pizza called chicken bacon ranch and it comes with onions and jalapeños and that is what she heard. OK fair enough, it was hard to hear over the phone so that explains the confusion ..easily corrected .. or so I thought. I stated , I wasn't aware you had THAT pizza can you make a small of the pizza I wanted. I really wasn't aware that you had a a similar pizza on the menu..I am not happy with this and I can't pick all the onions and jalapeños off..... She replied , We'll next time you will know" shrugged and walked away. That it true now I know and now so do all of you!! I can guarantee that I will never be back. My team has gone to eat here 3-4 times. The first time, the service was off-putting, but all the times after have been excellent! The food seems to be hit or miss. The favorite thing to order is the buffalo chicken cheesy bread! Several people always order it. It's tasty and easy to share (or not share). My wrap fell apart as I was trying to eat it. My not picky friend said the calzone was ok. JoJo's and nachos are pretty large! I tried their Roslyn the last time except with chicken and that was delicious. Price seems a bit on the higher side, but they do have specials (see the website) and even have a trivia night. Stopped by McClain's for a quick lunch on a Sunday at noon. It was still early in the day, so it wasn't too busy. McClains gets a three star rating just because it is not my name. I did not have a bad experience. It was just okay for a sports bar. The staff told us we could request whatever channel we wanted on the big TVs. There were tons all over the pizzeria. I imagine if I was looking for somewhere to watch a football or baseball game, this would be the place I go to. We had the spicy Thai pizza. Thai is almost always a go to food for me. This was the first Thai pizza that had carrots on it. It was a little weird, but it provided a unique sweetness to the pizza. The pizza was not wow, but it was good. It is fun because you see the main action of the kitchen because of the way it is set up. We saw the staff put together our pizza right before it went into the oven. While watching pizzas be made, I saw what I want to order next time. They had an insane platter of nachos. Granted it costs $12, it looked beautiful and well worth the $12. read more

We have been obsessed with the Buffalo chicken cheesy bread here for years. We went the other night for cheesy bread and beer. Something was off about the cheesy bread itself...not as caramely spicy as in the past and kind of bland. The worst thing was the "blue cheese" dressing. It was just a viscous sort of white grossness that tasted like blue cheese sort of but with literally no blue cheese in it. It was like fake food. My husband didn't believe me until he tried it. And then he was disgusted, too. We brought home most of the cheesy bread and ended up throwing it away, which has NEVER happened before. Please, at least just buy a vat of Lighthouse Blue cheese! What a disaster of a restaurant. We waited over an hour for our pizza order and now are still waiting past the hour for the rest of our party's order of a sandwich and pasta. We were told this was because there was a large party, but the large party consisted of three four tops--which any restaurant should be able to handle at dinner time. Seriously, if your oven cannot handle enough to serve maybe 1/4-1/3 of your total seating, don't bill yourself as a restaurant, call yourself a bar and be done with it. If we had known we would have waited over an hour and fifteen minutes for our entire party to be served we would have walked back out and made a better choice. Not a professionally run establishment and one of my worst dining experiences in Spokane. Never again. Adjusted up to 2 stars since they had the grace to take off the pasta dish that came out last. In Spokane dropping my freshman off at EWU. Used YELP to find pizza close to our hotel, this place came up with 4.5 stars which inspired us to order. We ordered a 10" pepperoni and veggie combo. We got take away, not impressed with the customer service. Cook time took 20 minutes as promised. We walked in and they handed us the pizza boxes, did not ask us if we needed plates or utensils. Pizza is okay, would not give it 4.5 Stars. Crust is bread like and lacks crunch and could have been cooked longer, bottom was somewhat soggy. Did like the fresh veggies! read more

I go consistently to McClain's for lunch and dinner, as I work next door at Fleet Feet. They've got great pizza and friendly staff (including the owner).
