Love the place! In my final year of college in Cork I lived just around the corner from here, so it was handy for nights out :) Its a great place to relax in the day and a super cool place to party at night. Good location, near to everything, beautful building, I liked it before the revamp but I think they've made a pretty good job of it. Great selection of good, free wifi, you can chill and relax or read the complimentary papers as you wait for your friends. The only disheartening thing is that they don't start serving food until about 12 which mightn't suit if you're up early for breakfast! but this is really my only complaint, can't fault the food! delicious! I was in Cork for the weekend and decided a nice brekkie would finish the weekend off nicely and needed something to keep me going to the drive home. We came to Bodega at 12.30 on a Sunday afternoon and was surprised that we got seated straight away. The service was fast and friendly and in no time we had our Eggs Benny's. I had the original and my boyfriend had the chorizo and chilli. It did not disappoint. The portion sizes were perfect. This place was amazing. I will warn you, though if you order an app and a side, it will probably be too much food for one person. I probably could've gotten away with one side. The decor was perfect. You never knew when you would see a random stuffed bird hidden somewhere peaking out at you. When I say bird, I mean crow/raven. All I could think about was Edgar Allen Poe. The artwork is tasteful, and I was curious to if it were for sale. The staff were extremely friendly, and the beer selection was stellar. read more

On rainy Sunday of November I went to Bodega... One star for the shop : The place looks very nice from the outside. Once inside I was very impressed. It is very big and, at this time of the year, very well decorated ! One star for the ambiance : It was warm and the waiters were very nice. As I looked around, I could see families with babies. So cuuuuute ! I think this is the real Christmas mood. One star for the service : I was unhappy with the table and was changed place right way. Also, the drink arrived super fast. would highly recommend Bodega for a Sunday brunch. Plenty of newspapers around for people to read. Relaxing atmosphere. Food is good. Nothing to write home about but good old Irish cooking. By this, we dont mean traditional Irish food - just modern European food but still tasty :D It is a very popular bar at night - daytime, its a restaurant but at night, its turned into a niteclub popular with young people and students in Cork. I've been here a few times and was never disappointed! The elaborate oriental decoration sets your expectations quite high, the place is very athmospheric and makes you feel special. This place is really great for a date night as well as lunch with friends. Their seafood chowder is the creamiest I've ever tasted and it came with soda bread and butter. Very nice atmosphere, love the decoration. We were a party of 5, and basically either ordered fish and chips or the lamb shank. It was good, but I found the lamb a bit salty. Can't fault one thing. The decor of the restaurant is very inviting. The outside area is very pleasant to enjoy a coffee. The service was second to none - from the attentive waiter to the owner who had a personal chat with each and every customer in the place - very obvious this place takes pride in its work from every perspective! Five nights in Ireland with primarily pub food costing 12-15 euro that was filling but "so so". Tonight a local pub bartender in Cork recommended the Bodega for a "moderate" dinner. Great recommendation. Very handsome venue with outstanding food .. baked cod with spinach, potato cake, and tomatoes for 15 euro. Really an exceptional meal for the price. The maitre d' gave us a sip of two special whiskies that we were interested in .. not requested, but quite thoughtful. Very good low volume live Irish music as well. Highly recommended! read more
