We are a busy on the go family of 6. We don't typically take time to do reviews because we like our kids better than our screens. I feel this place absolutely deserves some time. It's lengthy so divided by topic headings. SERVICE: Very excellent! Again as a family with 4 kids were used to noticing subtle eye rolls when we walk into places like this. I worked in a similar environment so I get it. We were greeted gregariously by a very kind young person working the counter. Since we're a crew we offered to stay outside, she came outside to take our orders having to run back in periodically for various reasons such as bring out a load of focaccia bread to show my kids what it was as they were trying to decide what to order. She was very engaging, very patient, and even dug up a juice box for our 3 year old when the older kids were getting "cool drinks" The following day, kids were begging for the sandwiches again because they were so awesome but I was reluctant as we were hitting it 15 minutes before their closing time. Once again they were absolutely awesome there. A different employee took our order. I apologized for placing a large order so close to them closing and she said "it's no problem at all, actually it was a little slow today and we appreciate the patronage" Excellent spirit there, excellent attitudes, and frankly I'm impressed just at the fact that people have the ethic to even SHOW UP for work during this time rather than sitting home milking COVID relief. These people don't just show up they are consistently going the extra mile. FOOD AND BEVERAGE QUALITY: We had breakfast sandwiches and as my kids put it, the best breakfast "sarriches" we have ever eaten so far in our time in this planet. They were very fresh, eggs perfectly cooked, well arranged (not falling apart with melted cheese gloobing all over the place, and they were FILLING!! Perfect on the go to fuel us up for the day of surfing. My OOOOOONLY critique is maybe toast the English muffins just a teeny bit longer (but that's a matter of personal taste) We adults had iced mochas. I am not a big coffee drinker, but more because I think most coffee drinks taste bitter and nasty. I lived on a coffee farm in Tanzania and got spoiled by fresh pea berry coffee right off the plant! So while I don't get excited about coffee drinks I felt these were excellent. I actually enjoyed drinking it rather than drinking it out of obligation because I ordered it. It was very smooth, not bitter. I ordered the same on our return visit and am excited to try their other drinks which from me is saying A LOT! FACILITY: Very clean, very sharp. Not cluttered. When traveling with kids open aisles and spaces are nice so they're not bumping into everything. This place was just awesome. Very open. Bathrooms were extremely clean and tidy. PHILOSOPHY: I spotted who I decided must have been the owner doing some paperwork. I was so impressed with the operation I introduced myself and thanked her for such an excellent place. We chatted briefly and she shared a bit of her business philosophy and vision. Very cool lady with an excellent heart. She cares very deeply for her community and her employees. An exemplary business owner. I felt very honored to have the chance to support her venture. OVERALL: I highly recommend The Blue for excellent service, food, atmosphere, and reasonable prices. We are very excited to see them again on our next surf safari through the Kennebunk area. read more

Make sure not to have any work to do while you are here! Kicked me out for being on my laptop. Was there for about 40 min. Never thought a coffee shop with free wifi would get rid of paying customer for minding their own business. I guess I was lucky enough they kicked me out as I was taking my last bite of my bagel. Been here multiple times, always great. My wife and I are now regulars. Hot and iced lattes are great and I love the blueberry muffins, which are all homemade. Convenient downtown location with ample parking. Casual and comfortable. Staff is courteous and owner is very attentive. It's great to have a place to have a drink and relax. read more

I'm not one for negative reviews, and the coffee and food at the blue is quite good, however the constant rudeness I have encountered the past two time I've been here is unnecessary and completely takes away from the quality of the food and drink. Unfriendly people should not be serving morning coffee. read more

The coffee is good, but could be stronger (I'll have to try a double shot of espresso) but the oat milk is good and flavoring is perfect! The Signature Breakfast Sandwich is the best sandwich I think I've ever had. You'd never think that bacon, egg, cheese, garlic aioli, and focaccia would go together but it's seriously amazing. We're going back again only a few days later to get more :D. On a Monday the parking was easy, indoors was super clean, and it's very bright and comforting. read more

I honestly hate to write this review as I live a block up the street. But the disrespect and plain rudeness to a paying customer was shocking. Me and my fiancé purchased sandwiches ( $30 freaking dollars for beyond sub par sandwiches) which didn't matter to us cause we wanted to support local. We ate our lunch and I left to grab a few things at the store next door. When my fiancé asked for the wifi, and the older lady severing us wouldn't give her the wifi because she finisher her lunch. The way the worker handled it with such rudeness was beyond needed. You guys are literally in the customer service industry. read more

Cute spot in downtown Kennebunk. Bright sunny windows with nice arrangement of seating options. Barista was a lovely, knowledgable teenager. Pastries and bagels were poor - grocery store quality. Chai tea latte was grocery store brand poured into cup. This was second experience at The Blue and again we were underwhelmed. I hope they can make some much needed changes to step-it-up. read more

This is a great place to take a break during the day and get coffee, bagels, pastries and sandwiches. The shop is very cute and provides great atmosphere for relaxing, conversations or business meetings. The staff is always friendly and conversations flow. Me and friend went to this place while on vacation on the his Labor Day weekend 8-31-2018 and I got a hot chocolate and muffin and friend got coffee and we sat in a comfy leather chair and relax after our travel up to Kennebunk from Massachusetts and the service was great and when I am up here again I will definitely come back read more
