Been meaning to check out Finest Kind for quite some time and today was finally that day! They have a good amount of street parking nearby. It's a spot that you order at the counter and you get a number and everything is delivered to your table. Menu wise they have a good variety that I think everyone will find something to their liking. Even showing up a little after opening we ordered right away and grabbed the perfect corner table. The vibes inside were perfect for a relaxing cozy breakfast. You could have a wait but I suspect it would be minimal. Both my wife and I got the Pumpkin Cold Foam Cold Brew and it tasted phenomenal. Just the right amount of sweetness and the cold brew was smooth with a hint of citrus. They had some other great sounding speciality coffee drinks too. Food wise I got their breakfast burrito called Dorado Supreme that had pork belly carnitas with eggs, cheese, avacado, hash brown and some more. Was such a tasty breakfast burrito and I look forward to coming back for it. My wife got their single slice of French toast that used challah bread and it was the perfect French toast she was craving. She got a side of maple bacon too and it was just sweet enough with just the right crisp. Food and drinks were delivered so quickly and we had zero complaints! Pictures could never do this burger justice- probably the best burger I've ever had and I've tried a lot of burgers! "Brunch Burger" quarter pounder smash patty, Cooper sharp cheese, bacon-onion jam, sunny side up egg, a hashbrown, pickles and tallow mayo fancy sauce on a homemade brioche bun. I've never finished a burger bun and all but this one was absolutely devoured! My husband said that his wrap was great too. Their lattes are great and the staff was nice. Had such a good breakfast at Finest Kind last weekend! This spot was so cute in a very sweet little town square. I had never heard of it before and have been visiting the Saco area for years so maybe it's new!? Either way, it was so yummy! I got a maple latte and eggs Benedict, as well as a coconut donut that was to DIE for. My partner got an iced chai with an espresso shot and some hash browns. Stopped here on our way home from Portland. The ordering process was well organized and went smoothly. We were seated outside and the food was brought to us quickly. An absolute gem! Every single bite was so good and made fresh. Didn't get a picture of the mimosas but trust me it was so good. The first bite of the coconut donut literally made my eyes roll from tasting what i believed to be a bit of heaven. Eggs were fluffy and flavorful. Canadian bacon to die for! Super cute place, wish we could've sat down to eat, but we were just stopping by for a road trip breakfast. LOVED the hashbrowns. I was skeptical of the price of the breakfast sandwich, but it's HUGE. I would've preferred it without the extra toppings, and with some hot sauce instead. I know when I see Yellowbird offered at a place, I'm going to like them. Wish there would've been a breakfast burrito option with the hashbrowns inside. Delicioso! We started at the pastry counter and sampled one of Victoria's savory cinnamon buns, which did not disappoint. We both had the iced coffee, which was absolutely delicious. Not sure where the beans were from but it was the best iced coffee we've ever had. Don't let the lines scare you off as there is seating inside, counter seating along the window (which we love) and seating outdoors (enjoy a passing train). A solid breakfast, one of the best I've had in Maine. Their hash browns were super crispy and were perfect as the "bun" of my sandwich. The brisket was pretty bomb, and I left soo full. It's a very healthy portion. My partner got the french omelette which was amazing as well. Just melted in your mouth, they nailed the execution, and the delicious mushrooms that are served with it were real tasty too. I follow a gluten free diet so it was nice how accommodating they were! Plenty of options, especially if you like hash browns. We drove like an hour to come here and I know we will again, soooo worth it. read more

This place is a gem for downtown Saco and lives up to its name! They truly do have the "Finest Kind" of food! My husband and I decided to give it a try for brunch. The vibe of the place is fresh, open, and modern, with a nod to mid century Scandinavian for today's era. The setup is to order at the counter, and they brung it to you. The service was great- we were checked on and they asked for specific feedback. Their menu is just right- not too many options and just the right options for breakfast and lunch. My husband ordered the breakfast sándwich with sausage and I ordered the Monte Cristo. We split an order of hash browns. The food came out fresh, hot and was simply AMAZING. The Monte Cristo was the perfect blend of soft to crispy bread with enough ooze of cheese. The syrup adds the perfect blend of sweet and savory. That egg sandwich? Decadent. Perfect egg yolk, with fresh sausage and cheese... so good! And the hash browns? Oh my! They reminded me of a spin on a potato latka minus the applesauce. The Orange Juice is freshly squeezed and tasted just like an orange. Portions are perfect- just right and felt energized as opposed to heavy, which goes to show that fresh really is best! While it is pricey, it's worth it for an indulgent treat. We stopped here for a quick breakfast and we are glad we did. It's a chill small little spot that serves great breakfasts and amazing pastries! Service was super friendly and everything came out very fast. We were lucky to get a table before people started flooding in. The coffee was tasty and of very good quality. The two pastries we got were big in size and sweet in flavor. The breakfast we got was fantastic. We got the west side story which was their perfectly wrapped breakfast burrito which was very filling and full of flavors! We also got the red and black lumber jack. There was so much going on in this and we loved it. Their perfectly cooked hash browns with juicy brisket and an amazing horseradish sauce in between. Everything we had here left us with smiles. Everything about FinestKind was amazing. We arrived around 8:15 on a Thursday and it was already pretty full, but the staff was great about helping us find seating. We ordered the breakfast burrito (no pic), lobster Benedict, and the French toast. The food came out very quickly and it was delicious! Everyone loved their food. The burrito was dense and full of flavor. The French toast was fluffy and the strawberry rhubarb sauce and cream were so flavorful. Plenty of lobster on the Benny and it also had great flavor. It wasn't drowning in a poorly-made hollandaise sauce; the sauce was light and flavorful. The hash browns were also fantastic. We also tried some baked goods. The oatmeal cream pies were the best!! We popped in for breakfast on a whim and were so glad we did. The service was genuinely kind and welcoming--one of those places where you feel at ease right away. The lattes were incredible (made with house-made syrup, which was such a nice touch), and the food hit the spot. Finest kind is a very cute and quaint addition to downtown Saco. Parking is plentiful and it is easy to get to. It features a walk up counter to take your order and the food is brought to your seat via a table number. Our table had a few breakfast sandwiches, cinnamon buns, yogurts and hashbrowns. Everything knocked it out of the park, but the hash browns did look & taste like the oil needed a change over. Despite that, they had some delicious looking pastries in the case that I would love to come back and try. Definitely give this cute place a chance! Been going to Finest Kind almost every weekend for a couple months now because it's THAT good. The food, the staff, the owners, the aesthetic, the music, the calm and efficient vibe of the kitchen etc etc. It's clearly a very intentional space curated and run by people who actually know the industry and have a passion for creating food and serving that food to good people. Please go and just get everything on the menu. From the freshly squeezed orange juice to the truly browned butter waffles with real maple syrup and the best fried chicken to the classic eggs benedict with house cured meats to the daily fresh made pastries and challah, everything is perfectly cooked, seasoned, textured, and presented. The kitchen is open to the dining room but you wouldn't recognize it in contrast to the more well known diner atmosphere of cooks yelling on the line frantically trying to get food out. Co-owner and head chef Tom is on expo quietly communicating with the other amazing chefs and efficiently cleaning as they go to keep service smooth and food consistent. When co-owner Victoria isn't making the daily in house pastries including the delicious custardy quiche, she's front of house running food and placing orders from the constant influx of costumers. When you walk in, you'll be greeted with old pictures on the wall of Biddeford/Saco, place an order at the counter and seat yourself indoors or outside on their cute patio enjoying the atmosphere and flowers at your table until your food is brought out to you not long after. My favorite server, Liz will always come check on you with a genuine presence and make sure there is seating available to accommodate you before placing an order as it can get very busy. Counter service can have its pros and cons but I really appreciate that they bring everything to you, check on how you're doing, and clean it up after so all you have to do is enjoy the food. It's conveniently located with ample free on street parking some of which is reserved specifically for Finest Kind costumers. I personally cannot sit outside in direct sun so I wish they had some umberellas or an awning on their patio. However, they did just upgrade their seating and tables along with some bits on the menu. You can tell they're constantly trying to perfect their space and food. Normally I wouldn't enjoy bar seating, but they have very comfy chairs with a view out the window and bag hooks under the bar. They don't have high chairs but they do have a cushioned bench that toddlers can sit on with their adult. As someone who has worked in restaurants for years and is an avid home cook, I really admire a restaurant with kind owners who know food and what it takes to run a restaurant, friendly staff who care and appear to be treated well, and just some fucking damn good honest food. I think there has been a quantity vs quality issue in the southern Maine restaurant scene for a long time. I'd rather have 10 consistently good restaurants than 200 that are overpriced and honestly sooo disappointing leaving you hungry with less money in your pocket. After being open for just over a year, Finest Kind is definitely a stand out and I hope it's here to stay. read more

Was hopeful but the portions are very small and the attitude from the barista was horrible, so overpriced either way a bad attitude equal a one and done for us You're better off going somewhere else, I don't mind paying for food but I expect good service and adequate portions read more
