I really hate telling my secrets! But Bloom Lounge in Plano has no doubt become one of my top three brunch spots in Dallas. The atmosphere is inviting, but the food is what keeps pulling me back. Sunday brunch was great! My absolute favorite? The honey butter pancakes -- they're in a league of their own and truly something special. I've also tried the macaroni and cheese and the turkey bacon, both of which were delicious. On my next visit, the avocado toast is definitely on my list to try. The drinks are just as good -- the fresh squeezed orange juice is refreshing and feels like the perfect brunch pairing. The service is just as memorable as the food and décor. Cutest lil brunch spot in plano! The decor is nice and cozy with chandeliers and flowers everywhere - loved it! I didn't feel like I was in Plano tbh but like in a good way. The menu is very diverse with Turkish, Mediterranean, Asian and Latin options. I enjoyed my shashuka with good flavors and perf portion size. I ordered a cardamom latte which was decent but could use some work. We tried the tres leches pancakes which were pretty good but I wish they had more sauce absorbed in the pancakes so it wouldn't feel as dry. Overall though, I'd try their other options. Service was pretty fast and friendly. They checked up on us often and made sure we were happy with all our food. You kind of never want to leave because it's so lovely and cozy. The inside chairs are a plush velvet in either blue or gold. They were designed for relaxing with a mimosa or a cocktail of your choice from their full bar. I came on a Wednesday afternoon. There were quite a few people there, but there were still empty tables and no one on the patio despite the perfect fall weather. I waited by the hostess stand for a long while before being acknowledged and seated. The menu has some amazing brunch items and they are served all day long. I honed in on my favorite section - Eggs Benedict. They had the usual classic with Canadian bacon, vegetarian with avocado, and salmon ($21.00!) with capers. I opted for the unique Italian Eggs Benedict served with prosciutto and a delightful side salad. The Benedict was a bit salty to me. I really loved the salad and the fresh vinaigrette that they used. That was absolutely delicious! They should bottle and sell that recipe. Getting the check at the end took a really long time. No one was around, so I couldn't get anyone's attention. Finally a busboy started cleaning the table near mine. He didn't seem to understand me, but he got help. A woman approached my table, filled my water glass and said my waitress would be with me soon. When she finally appeared, she had the credit card scanner with her. I don't recall being presented a bill to look over, just the electronic total. She went above and beyond to tailor our recommendations to my tastes, ensuring I had the perfect seasonal dish. The overall atmosphere was just as inviting as the food, with an interior that felt like a quaint French Bistro, adding to the overall dining experience. But, my imaginary -.5 comes from the reservation/seating process. Despite having a reservation for two, we ended up waiting for over an hour to be seated. The hostess seemed overwhelmed, struggling with both the online booking system and managing the influx of customers. This disorganization was frustrating and put a dent in what could have been a flawless experience. Overall, I had a good experience with Bloom Lounge from start to end. I had emailed them a few weeks before my event to set up a reservation for a party of 6, and they were very quick to respond and accommodate my request. I celebrated my birthday there with girlfriends and all the dishes we ordered were good. I would have to say the best dishes were the sweet ones - they had a next fluffy texture to them and had just the right amount of sweetness. I was really surprised how packed it was when we arrived, but I could see why because of the fun brunch ambiance and instagrammable decor. More Sunday Brunching! Decided to try this place out with a friend I hadn't seen in a few months. Central location for both of us so that was a plus. We made a reservation for 9:30a as we both had busy days ahead but wanted enough time to catch up. Greeted at the door by someone who didn't know how to run the system to check for our reservation. Odd. He did go and get someone who knew how to run the system and they quickly and politely brought us back to our table. Cute little enclosed outdoor area that was charming. Our table however was right at the door so we constantly had severs backing their rear end into our table or hitting the chair with the door. Not a very relaxing experience. The food was ok. Nothing to write home about in a positive or negative way. The bread (I try to stay away from bread) was great! Glad I splurged and decided to eat it. The eggs were a large portion for the description (2 eggs any way you like) which was a pleasant surprise, but they did have a little bit of a funky taste to them. Not sure if it was the pan they were cooked in or if they were at the end of their shelf life. Not terrible, but a bit funky. Our server was attentive and friendly. The manager (shorter gentleman in a grey suit) is maybe in the wrong line of work, however. Rude to our table and we overheard him being rude to others as well. I did find the prices to be a bit on the higher side, especially the cocktails. We did have a very sweet server and the decor was very cute. I'd give it a 4 A: I had the Sicilian Toast and a cappuccino. It was good, but maybe a little overpriced for what it was. Cappuccino was sweetened which I didn't ask for, so might need to clarify that when ordering as that may be their standard. Drinks on the drink menu were pretty pricey for brunch. I am not on Instagram, so this place wasn't designed for people like me. If a pretentious cross between Las Vegas and Bridgerton your thing, this is the place for you. Just getting a regular cup of coffee is beneath the flowery commercial ambience of this place. My wife had a very pretty but pretty average tasting omelette. And I was disappointed there wasn't a traditional eggs Benedict on the menu but 3-4 bourgeois variations of it that didn't interest me. What I actually ordered was so forgettable, I had to go look at the menu online to remember what I had; Texas Wagyu Burger. Decent looked great. But looks are the point to this "lounge" that is so busy they don't want you to lounge. Servers very capable but just swamped. Place seems to stay crowded off the hype. I wouldn't go back. But if you like a certain ambiance and style is just as important as substance to you at a less than fine dining price this place might be for you. read more
