I'm so glad you're here! 1/6/2026 I stopped by Reverence Coffee for the first time on Saturday for a quick pick me up. There was just one other lady sitting down in the coffee shop doing a little bit of work, and Sly just happened to be working that day. He was very polite and professional. We talked about business and he said he was looking forward to meeting the people in the new apartment building next door. I saw that there was one brown butter chocolate chip cookie with sea salt left in the box, so I absolutely had to try it. I have to say it's probably one of the most freshest cookies I've ever had, he said they always mix it up and have all kinds of different pastries. I also ordered a 12oz Caramel iced Latte, and that tasted great too! I absolutely love the vibe of the coffee shop, the color on the walls, decorations, customer service, and look forward to returning more often!

I've been enjoying trying out different coffee shops in the Peoria area and this time I brought my…read moresister along! This is my very first time visiting Café Santa Rosa! When we arrived, there was only one other customer in the shop, so it was very quiet and relaxed. The music was playing but it was almost to quiet. We did get there right around 2:30 and they close at 3:00 p.m. so that could be why they weren't busy at all. Only one other customer came in while we drink our coffee. I was hoping to try one of their chocolate croissants, but they were out at the time. I ordered the winter spice latte, and my sister ordered the hot mocha latte. I have to say, my favorite part of the entire visit was the atmosphere. The space is absolutely beautiful -- warm, industrial, and rustic all at the same time. The wood accents paired with the exposed ceilings, soft lighting, and open layout make it feel welcoming while still being really unique. There's so much room, and it feels like a place where you could comfortably sit and hang out for a while with friends. One of the coolest little details was spotting an old dumbwaiter -- you really don't see those very often anymore, and it added even more character to the space. I also loved learning that they have a bar-style setup on the other side of the restaurant a few nights a week, which is a fun and unexpected touch. Another special feature is that their coffee comes straight from Colombia, and you could truly taste the quality. They've been in this location here for about 2 years and since the building is bigger I hope that they are getting a lot more customers but I'm not sure. Overall, it's a really neat spot with a great vibe, and it's worth checking out.

We were warmly greeted by the owner, and fell in love with the layout. The menu is extensive, and I tried the cortado and a harvest muffin. Both were extraordinary, and my friend tried the avocado toast. Lucky to try a bite, it exceeded ALL avo toasts I've ever tried. The sourdough was homemade, and the avo had a Colombian twist that took it to a new level. Topped with a medium boiled egg, it was just sublime. Very classy, very comfortable..can't wait to go back!

Step 1 order a coffee drink or even a chai. Step 2 order a croffle (waffle meets croissant) We stopped in for a late Breakfast on a Thursday Morning. I saw a viral tik tok video and had to come make a stop here. Service was great ! Owner is awesome! We loved the pistachio Nutella croffle and strawberry Nutella croffle. The croffles are light, fluffy and croissant like. We washed it all down with a strawberry shortcake latte. The latte was great too! We will be back!

Drive-thru coffee shops are blooming on here recently…read more I suppose that having visited a few drive-thru coffeehouses, this opens the prior closed door on visiting them for my blog. I figured that the lack of being able to experience the vibe and feel for them shouldn't exclude them from my sampling as they can have their own style and their own uniqueness. On a trip to Bloomington with my dad to get lunch, I needed coffee. I slept all morning so trying to get one before we left was a no-go. I figured that since we are visiting Bloomington, I would just visit one that I still have on my list and Blooms Coffee Bar was my choice for today. I drove around the building to see if there was a walk-up window but no such luck. I pullled up to one window (there was one on each side) and the kind barista asked me to pull around to the other side as that's the proper side to order from. I zoomed on over and asked for a moment to look over the menu before deciding what sounded good. Shockingly, I didn't get my usual americano. I was in town for pigging out and decided to treat myself to the Salty Sweet. My dad said he had 3 cups of coffee already and wasn't in the mood for more. It wasn't busy so the lady said I didn't need to pull around to the other window I was just at to pick up my order. So THAT'S how they operate. The drink was made fairly quick and I dipped to the parking lot behind Bloom's to enjoy my drink as we waited for Flinger's to open at 11am. This drink was just the thing to start my day. It was a perfect balance of sweet and salty (which is how I mis-ordered the drink by saying the name backwards). I even went against my usual order style and got a medium instead of a large. I should've gotten the large cause it went down smooth and fast. I pulled around to the front of the building to try and snap a few photos but ended up pulling out too far so my phone's camera put in some work on getting some decent quick snaps for this blog. I am glad that I've started to add these drive-thru only places to my list as each one has been delicious so far. Take this as a lesson to not limit yourself based on silly notions and assumptions.

Coffee was bitter but rich and delicious still! What I loved most though was the toast! They have a large selection of toasts for breakfast, we ordered an avocado toast and a PB banana toast and loved both. I'd love to try more too what a fun idea and all of them looks great. The service was a little slow but they were making the toasts and espresso drinks fresh.

At first, we were confused as GPS took us to a bicycle shop but once we go out and walked around, we found where to get our caffeine. We walked in to a busy cafe and noticed half of it was a bicycle shop. I'm not sure if it's the same owner/business but it was pretty neat to see the two put together. Pretty sure this is a first for my dad and I. I wasn't sure where to order and happened to be standing next to a little computer set up that looked like I could order my own drinks from. Just before I decided to try and use it myself, a barista came over and took our order. My dad isn't used to getting coffees from anything over than his coffee pot at home so he ordered the same thing I always get: iced americano. We waited about 5 minutes to get our drinks and then we dipped out to start our adventures for the day. We got to my car and took a few sips to get us energized for the trip to Brookfield and I have to say, the americano from Recreation was really good. It was dark and bitter, just how I like it. My dad tried his first americano and really liked it. He drinks his coffee like I do. Black. So, it's no surprise he could handle the bitterness just as well as me. Recreation was nice little stop to get some caffeine. The baristas were super nice. The place is fairly smaller on the inside so if you have a large group of people, you may need to take the place over or take your drinks elsewhere. Overall, pretty cool place to get some coffee, just don't let the bicycle shop store front fool ya. Recreation has it's own door to enter from outside.

CxT passes class with a 'C'…read more Located in Campustown, where a Starbucks used to be, is a new extension to the CxT Coffee Roasting company. I've been patiently waiting for the day they opened to finally pop in and try their americanos. I've only ever had lattes from CxT so I was excited to try my tried-and-true espresso and water here. Emily ordered their Coconut Cookie Butter Latte and I got my usual plain black americano, iced. We had a long day ahead of us so I also ordered a blueberry bagel to stave off the appetite while we ran around Peoria for the afternoon. The person taking our order was very nice and courteous. The place wasn't too busy and our drinks came out fairly quick. My americano was first and when I went up to grab Emily's drink a few minutes later, the barista putting it together said he doesn't know what is in the drink and hopes it was good. That did not instill a lot of hope in me as we settled down to enjoy our caffeine. I actually thought they forgot about my bagel since it wasn't until about 5 minutes later that they called for it to be picked up. The bagel itself was really good, even without any topping and was toasted to the right temperature. When I had my first sip of the americano, I knew it was going to be one of those 'lighter' varieties that I am not a fan of. It reminded me of a slightly better version of the one I got from 392Caffe. Just light on bitter and watery-tasting. To each their own but not really my cup of... coffee. Emily loves to get a seasonal drink and said this one was just not for her. I took a sip and thought it tasted fine but I am not big on the flavor of coconut. She said she liked her drink enough to finish it but wasn't really what she was feeling on this day. Being neighbors with Bradley University, there was a lot of foot traffic in the 30 minutes we were in there. Lots of young people coming in for coffee and heading out for their next class or study session. I actually joked with Emily that we are the old people in a coffeehouse now and how out-of-place we were in a sea of college students. I'd imagine a lot of college kids will be crashing this place throughout the year to get that last minute study session in while sipping some coffee and eating some tasty baked goods. I've had good experiences at the other two locations. One is down the hill from this location, on the same road, and is their Apollo location. Up near Peoria Heights off Knoxville Ave is their Keller Station location and that one is probably my favorite of the three. This one is nice but has a very clean, very modern vibe to it that feels more like Starbucks than a local coffeehouse. I will definitely be back to the CxT coffeehouses in the future but may stick to getting lattes or flavored drinks now that I know how they do americanos. On a side note, I did ask one of the cashiers if they had stickers and they do but it's the ones they put on their own stuff. He was nice enough to give us both one for free. So, if you are a sticker freak like we are, don't hesitate to ask and they might hook you up.
