I stopped going to the local bakeries years ago when the two main businesses started going down with taste and quality in my opinion. THEN...someone introduced me to this business I had never heard of. WOW...if you haven't been run...don't walk! They have SO MANY sweet treats and all really delicious. Their prices reasonable, outstanding quality, love you can buy individual treats and drum roll...you can get individual squares of wedding cake. *The crowd goes wild* No joke I've had almost everything there I think and they are without a doubt the best cookies, cakes, breads, brownies and treats I've ever had in this area. They even topped the famous chocolate frosting that at one time I thought was the most amazing thing to ever hit central IL. Favorites are smores bars, chocolate dipped marshmallows and fruit and nut breads. This is my new it place for special occasions and treating myself! I am absolutely still a customer, they are that good, but. I recently discovered that they are charging the credit card fee back onto me, when I use my card, which is most of the time. Apparently they have been doing that for a year and a half. I have only been a customer for a year and never noticed until recently. I believe the woman who rang me out said it was an additional 3.5%. And it is stated on a portion of their counter, but it is very small to read. I'll just never be happy with any business that charges me extra for using my card. Credit card fees are the price of running a business, IMO. read more

Crazy reasonable prices and totally worth every penny! Stopped here after throwing away a terrible cupcake purchased in Peoria for $2.50 and then only taking one bite but still needing my sugar fix. Tried out a snickerdoodle cookie for $1.10 (excellent, buttery with just the right amount of spice and chew), a morning glory muffin .75c (not wild about the coconut but overall really yummy with lots of large nuts) and a lemon bar for $1.10 also that was perfectly baked with plenty of lemon! Wish this place was closer to me so I could stop in more but will be thinking of them when I need to order a pie - they had a bajillion options listed and I have a strong feeling they would be just as good as their other treats! The cinnamon rolls we purchased were hard and stale. The thumbprints too. The lemon blueberry bread we purchased was gooey and flavorless. Over all would recommend Trefscers over this place. read more

I was on a walk and needed a bit of water. Stepped in and got the water, but the baked goods looked so delicious. I caved in and bought one ginger cookie. Oh my, that was the best ginger cookie I've ever tasted...soft and so full of good flavor. I need to stop by again in another moment of weakness and try something else. read more

We ordered (3) dozen cookies with blue icing. Picked up this morning and the icing was light green. Aunt Dena's offered no explanation except that the gal told my wife that she used royal blue and light blue coloring in the icing. She did not offer to exchange any other colors of cookies for the green. We have been buying pies from Aunt Dena's, and this was the first, and last time for cookies, and we will not be returning with this total lack of customer service. Maybe someone needs to get their eyes checked. read more

I found mold on two of my breads took it back to the owner!! She was extremely RUDE! She argued with me and tried to reason why. She said she would give me and in store credit rather then giving us the money back. No thank!! Two years prior she completely botched graduation cake design and order for my neighbor. Again.. was very rude to them! I will not give her my business! read more

Aunt Dena's staff was "new" and did not know how to process a credit card payment over the phone. They did not know what an itemized receipt was and did not supply me with one. The cake was poorly decorated- it looked like my 9 year old wrote on it. The lettering was really off centered. The cake tasted ok but I would not order here again especially for 48$ read more

This is the crack cocaine of bakeries. Their check mix was gone after the first bite, I'm not sure what happened, I took a bite, looked down and the bag was empty. Possibly a drug induced time shift from the party mix. Awesome fluffy cookies and scones. Hope I have to come this direction soon! read more
