Largest bakery I have seen! In town and tried it for the first time. Bread, Irish Soda Bread for St. Patrick's Day, cakes, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, cookies and we bought 2 huge eclairs and a German Chocolate cake 1 layer round $48. Saving that for tomorrow. Friendly counter service. Nice layout.

It has been years since I've been to Trefzger's. Happened to be close so I stopped at their new location. It's as good as I remember. Their cinnamon rolls are amazing along with their danish and coffee cakes. You take a number and are served quickly. You can even get a treat and stay and eat. It's a great location. Coffee shop vibe with plenty of room to shop.

Love this place. They have everything bakery wise that you could need. There crème horns are a family favorite of ours

Great specialty cakes but must call ahead.

Excellent, large bakery. Worth the stop if you are driving through the area and want a treat plus something to take on the road. Some outdoor seating.

I ordered a two-tier carrot cake with cream cheese frosting for my son's 20th birthday and he said it was delicious! Ordering over the phone was easy - Lindsay was super sweet and took my order and also delivered it to where my son is staying while doing his internship in Peoria. Everything was perfect from start to finish! I highly recommend this bakery!

We have used Trefzger's for all our bakery needs: weddings, birthdays, milestones. We always receive compliments on the decorations and there is never a crumb to spare. We've purchased cakes, cakes with fillings, danishes, donuts, pies and special occasion cakes. It's a must see and taste!!

Beautiful, large, independent bakery with incredible sweets. Everything is amazing about this place except for the unfriendly staff.

Expensive, but our carrot cake was wonderful. Publix in Georgia has a tasty carrot cake for 1/4 of the price.

I ordered a Tres Leches cake for a gender reveal party, and oh my God, it was absolutely AMAZING. Everyone kept asking me where I got the cake from. It tasted incredible and looked stunning as well. Hands down, totally worth trying--I'll definitely be ordering again! Also, when I went to pick up the cake, I noticed they have a super cute café next to the bakery. The place had such a great vibe--everyone seemed to be enjoying their coffee and fresh salads, and it just felt like a really warm, welcoming space.

I never understand how service companies never trained their employees to be friendly and just human decency. Went to the coffee shop. They don't even have half-and-half. They've got carnation little creamers that's not half-and-half. Also, as somebody else has mentioned, the setup is very confusing. You have two different rooms that are connected to each other, but you have to pay for the baked goods on one side of the coffee on the other side, those supposedly they're the same company, very disjointed. As you can tell, I won't be returning. I'm a small business owner and I wish them all the best but they've got to fix their service. There are 101 coffee shops in Central Illinois.

The girl behind the counter was friendly and polite and took my order. I ordered a hot mocha latte with macadamia milk. I gave her my name and she said they'd call me when it was ready. I found one of the few open seats, a low sitting leather chair that was quite comfortable tyvm, and did a little people watching until they called my name. There was now a small line to the order line and I was pretty convinced I had made a good choice in coming here. In a matter of minutes later my name was called and my drink was ready. My latte was very good and the mocha made it even better. If you're in the area be sure to drop in and check them out.

When I asked about it they said "we never sold chocolate, i don't know what you're talking about" (The chocolate was back today) Today it was asking about their canned coffee because the fridge was empty (they have a shandy coffee/lemonade that is killer) They looked at me like I was an alien for wanting to buy a product they've had in cans in the past. They assured me they still have it to make but don't have it in cans sell. When I asked if they knew when it would be back the barista was frustrated and repeated that they had it to make. Ok fine, but I'm driving an hour home and liked the cans? Just a weird thing like it's a pain in the ass that i know what products they have and am interested in them. The Huckleberry Sage latte was great, the Barista was great for suggesting it iced. I'd have it again. I'm just giving up on expecting clear answers about what they carry.

I was a little confused when first arriving opening the door to a number of bakers racks in the middle of the floor - it felt like you were entering the 'back door'. There was also a slightly unsettling 'alarm' that rang as the door was opened, not your typical 'ding dong' of a shop door. I picked up 5 pieces of tres leches cake - $4 a piece... a definite value! The gentleman behind the counter diligently and carefully packed each dripping moist piece of cake into its own to go box. Each piece of cake is topped with a glazed strawberry half - the cake was absolutely delightful. Moist, creamy, utterly delicious! I will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Review Visit: June 27th, 2013…read more The place for Mexican baked goods in Peoria. Laura and Matt told me about this little bakery in Peoria that I had to check out. So, doing what I do, I told them to meet me there the next chance we go. We grabbed Tim along the way and headed there for some baked goodies. I will admit that I had no idea what the place was when I was told about it. All I heard was a Mexican bakery I need to check out. I didn't know what to expect but what we experienced was definitely not what I imagined. Most bakeries, when you think of them, are those glass display cases loaded up with tons of bakery items. Breads, cookies, rolls, etc. When we stepped in Panaderia, it was all that and then some. They had the display cases full of stuff but they also had these metal rack holders with racks of baked goods on them. Whether there were for public purchase or they there using the main part of the building as a cooling off area, I don't know. But the smells were overwhelming, in a good way. The place smelled heavenly, even if I wasn't sure what I was smelling. We moved over to the display cases and started to pick out a few things. Some of the things were easy to figure out while a few of the things required us to ask the cashier what they were. He was more than willing to help us pick out our snacks. We all picked out a handful of goodies and headed out. I didn't realize until after we left that they sold pizza as well. That seems odd at first but if you think about it, it does make some sense. Do you not bake a pizza? Don't bakeries bake things? Just put 2 and 2 together and you have a winning combo. As we walked to the car, we snacked on the goodies. I tried to stick to the safe stuff that I knew I would like but I did get a few unknown things as well. It turned out, even the safe bet food took me by surprise. A chocolate chip cookie is a chocolate chip cookie but you add cooking methods used by different ethnic groups and you can find some nuances in how the final cookie tastes. Panaderia is just that. Offering you things that you are familiar or unfamiliar with but adding a bit of Mexican-style of baking to it. My treats were delicious and I have been wanting to go back to get more and to try their pizza out.
