Great find - classic and iconic hotel. Love the location within 5-10 min walk to Buckingham fountain, Buddy Guy Legends club and Jazz Showcase. We dined at Mercat (inside hotel) and since we wanted to try Chicago dog, check out Devil's Dawg nearby. The parking is steep ($70-80) but that's common in major U.S. cities. So we walked everywhere for like NY, LA this is a walking city to most of the sites. Their valet staff are very friendly and helpful.

I enjoyed my stay here. The blackstone hotel stands on the "cultural mile" of Michigan avenue, easy access to everywhere especially Grant Park. If your room is facing Lake Michigan, the view would be unbeatable. The hotel did a fantastic job of embracing the past, eg old-fashioned typewriter in the lobby, chandelier, wood paneling, etc. The room was stylish, neat and spacious. The bed was super comfortable and felt Luxious. The staff were friendly. Check in and check out were smooth and hassle free.

The Blackstone was the perfect location in downtown Chicago to lots of places. I was in town for Taste of Chicago and the hotel is directly across the street. You can tell once you step into the building that it's been beautifully decorated and it was recently restored. The reception area is nice and lots of guests congregated there just to lounge. Checking in was super fast and the staff was friendly. I didn't get to check out all the amenities but for a quick stay, the Blackstone did a good job at accommodating me.

This hotel is centrally located on Michigan Avenue across from Millenium Park and a short walk to the Magnificent Mile. Great rooms - we came for OASIS and the check in staff were great. They helped us sort out how to walk to the concert and were very friendly. We could see soldiers field from our room. Would have given 5 stars but the bartender actually made us feel uncomfortable both times we were at the bar and we left. Everyone can have a bad day, but 2 days in a row just isn't cool. Slamming your shakers, jiggers and glasses around and not smiling to anyone or cleaning plates off the bar is just not doing your job. And giving smug answers to questions is downright rude It was as if we were asking for a kidneys anytime a drink request would come in You're in the hospitality business but failed to serve up any. Otherwise the hotel and staff were great!

The Blackstone Hotel in Chicago is history meets style in a prime Michigan Avenue location. Originally opened in 1910, she's an old girl. Over the years, it fell into disrepair, but thankfully it was restored to its former glory with a modern shabby-chic touch. Staying here is perfect for a quick city trip because it's within easy walking distance to major attractions. The Art Institute, Millennium Park, the iconic Bean, and countless restaurants and shops are just a stone's throw away. I love the hotel's design--a mix of historic elements and trendy, modern updates. The rooms have personality. Give it a stay if you're in Chicago.

Such a beautiful hotel! It's literally less than 10 mins from the train station! The room was clean and the bathroom was spacious. I love the wallpaper in the bathroom! We stayed here for a quick girls weekend getaway! Walkable to many restaurants and stores! We had a fabulous time!

I wanted to like The Blackstone as I was excited to stay at a historic hotel on the park near the lake. Unfortunately, none of the historic spaces (like the ballroom) are open to visitors staying there and our stay left some things to be desired to be truly comfortable. There were some nice touches, like dimmable lights, so hopefully they can turn things around. There are NO amenities in the public spaces of the hotel. No bathrooms. Not even a basic continental breakfast set up -- no coffee or hot water. (There was a very small and old coffee maker in the room but tea drinkers will know this doesn't cut it.) We had to go to the fitness center on the 6th floor to get hot water for tea in the mornings, where there was a single machine that dispensed hot water. We found that there IS an actual "Club" room in the hotel that might have these things but that our stay didn't afford us the privilege of accessing it. This felt quite inhospitable when the Hilton directly across the street not only has a continental breakfast area, but multiple restaurants. There are NO OUTLETS anywhere in the room! The only ones you can find are in the bathroom by the sink. I hoped to use a heating pad while I was there but no luck. They did have an alarm clock on the bedside table that took USB cords and had 2 plug ins. The faucet handles in the bathroom were laughably bad. The corners are actually fairly sharp and there's no way to turn on the faucet with the back of your hand, if you'd like to keep the handles clean. They present a fair amount of resistance, too, so would be difficult if you have a disability. They're made for Lego people hands. I thought the people working here were the best asset the Blackstone has. They were very nice and made the stay feel more comfortable. They seem to be doing the best they can with the scanty resources Marriott is providing them. Overall, I'd probably try a different hotel next time I'm in Chicago in hopes of finding a place that doesn't make you venture out into the cold for a muffin or a cup of coffee. Cons - No outlets anywhere but the bathroom counter - Terrible faucet handles in bathroom - Shower head too close to wall with shampoo dispensers so you're fighting for the space to shower - No lobby amenities (bathrooms and other spaces were locked our entire stay) - No area with coffee or tea, or snacks, etc. - Private "club" had some amenities but it isn't open to most guests - Some maintenance needed in the bathroom (grout that had fallen out in places) - Nothing historic open for visitors -Fragrance in lobby area triggering migraines Pros - Comfortable bed, down comforter, pillows - Good housekeeping, pretty clean - Tall ceilings, spacious - Location - Nice people working there - Large bathroom with counter - Generous sized room - Dimmable lights in room and bathroom

I've never stayed here before, but I've been upstairs in the Crystal Ballroom with my charity group during the Chicago Marathon. This hotel was very beautiful and elegant from the moment I entered. The location was very convenient as the marathon started and ended just across the street in Grant Park. I would hope to stay here one year for the marathon. However, the rates are pretty high during that weekend!

Such a beautiful, historic hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was well appointed - I loved little details, like the presidential doodles on the notepads. They do a great job of offering modern comfort while honoring the history.

Not sure what 'Autograph collection' means in the Marriott world, the Blackstone is nothing more than a motel housed in a beautiful, old world, hotel building. Rooms are small and cheap. There are hardly any amenities and what there is, is very low quality. My room was not cleaned between days. My bed sheets were not replaced. I did get new towels. Bathroom was definitely not cleaned. Crappy coffee machine and coffee to go with it. No water bottle. Nothing at all.. Continuing with the motel theme, the Blackstone has no breakfast, no concierge, no room service and a quite minimal lobby.. Saving face were some greatly helpful bell boys who did all they could to help.. In short, avoid this place unless you can get motel pricing. Right now, not worth the cost in any way. The Hilton across the street is much nicer ar the same price.. I moved there after two days..

It was a pleasure staying here. Staff was really nice. I felt comfortable. I asked for a shower cap and tooth paste and they had it. Fantastic spot to stay. I usually stay at Sheraton Riverwalk, but this place was better!

Great stay at the Blackstone even for a remote work stay. Sitting right by Grant Park which is a plus if you enjoy a brisk walk during the day. Lots of places to eat nearby. Staff was courteous. Room was very clean and updated. Ventilation throughout the hotel and in the room was very good. Will consider a revisit when returning to Chicago.

Fabulous boutique hotel by Marriott on S Michigan Avenue. Old historic building listed as Chicago Landmark. Hotel is nice, with modern mixing in with the old. Great location and if your room is facing the Michigan Avenue you will have a fabulous view! Lobby is particularly spectacular! Gym is nice and has anything that traveler can hope for. Rooms are nice as well, and charming. Bathrooms are fantastic. Carpet in the hallway can use a facelift, and while hotel provides bath robes, they do not fit muscular individuals. I asked for larger ones but they inform me they only come in one size! Not a deal breaker, but come-on!

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

Lady on the phone was rude, told me no and hung up on me mid sentence. I wasn't able to eat my share because well, it was LATE. Wife said her food simply wasn't good regardless. Something as simple as butter and jelly for the toast wasn't provided. Arrived back between meetings. Stood out front and in the lobby for over 15 minutes to try and give my keys to the valet attendant. No one was anywhere to be found. Wouldn't answer calls from the front desk. They finally took my keys then some dude chased me down saying they can't keep them and I have to keep waiting. Oh this made me LATE to my next meeting. $89 a day for poor performance was not worth it. I would 100% suggest parking yourself or a block over at London house. They always have 4+ attendants. Help with luggage and doors etc. oh and it's CHEAPER. We appreciated the room upgrade. The room itself was okay. It wouldn't get below 71 degrees and got upwards of 76 degrees during the day. I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

They had a cute popcorn station with candy and pop, plus you can order room service. The spa was amazing and the facilities were nice.

My wife and I are finally reflecting on our stay at The Langham, Chicago, from June 2021, when we…read moregot married and spent a few nights there with family. Although we grew up in the Chicago suburbs and know the city well, it was our first time staying at the Langham, and it left a strong impression. The most striking aspect was how spacious the room felt. We likely stayed in a Premier Room, which was quite large by city standards. The bed was massive, very comfortable, and just the right firmness. A detail that stands out is the space between the foot of the bed and the wall where the TV was mounted, which makes the room feel open and calm rather than cramped. The décor was elegant without feeling stuffy, highlighted by thoughtful touches like an espresso machine. The bathroom was another highlight: the frosted-glass window offered privacy while maintaining a sense of connection, and the rain shower had excellent water pressure and felt indulgent. The location is fantastic, convenient for work in the Loop, time in Grant Park, shopping on Michigan Avenue, or dining in River North or Fulton Market. During our trip, we ate nearby both nights, which made getting around easy and stress-free. The staff was warm and helpful throughout our stay, and breakfast at the hotel restaurant was memorable, even if the details are a bit hazy now. The lobby is beautiful, and several family members who stayed with us also commented on how much they enjoyed the hotel. At the time, pricing felt mid-range for a luxury hotel in Chicago, offering excellent value. It was summer, likely a less expensive time to visit, but even so, considering the room size, comfort, service, and location, it seemed like money well spent year-round. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We would happily return and are eager to explore other Langham properties worldwide.

While not…read moreluxury, the hotel was very nice and comfortable, and the location was central to our wedding happenings. Everything was great until I checked out and discovered that I had been charged $88 per night for parking. That was quite unexpected. I had been in Chicago just a few months earlier and had paid $55 at the L7 Hotel. So I was shocked that the JW could charge so much. How is their valet parking better than the valet parking at the L7? I realize now that had I been traveling alone, and not with my family, it would have been cheaper to fly to Chicago, than drive the 4.5 hours from Ohio. Apparently the hospitality industry hasn't caught on to the current affordability crisis, or at least Marriott hasn't.

Check in is quick, rooms are fine (and clean), and the executive lounge is nice. I was warned about eating in the bar on the first floor, which I hadn't done in a few years, but it was getting late, and the weather stunk. I saw friends in the bar area, so I took root at the table nearby. Service was fine, and I enjoyed a few of the Amber bee on draft. The menu looked good, and I ended up with a steak fried rice bowl. The steak was gross. It didn't even look like steak that should be served. It was fatty and tasteless. I ate less than 1/2 the rice and 1/3 of the steak. I wasn't starving, so it wasn't a huge deal, but those who told me to avoid the bar area for food were right.

I've been to Miru many times and finally got to try out the hotel for a staycation…read more Pros: -I loved that they had two restaurant options in the hotel. Both have incredible views but I would definitely recommend having at least one meal on the Miru patio if you are there during nice weather. -I was most surprised by their massive gym and has stunning views. It's also open 24 hours. They offered Pilates classes as well for an extra fee. -the hotel is brand new and all the finishes are so high end. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hallways are huge and felt like a maze to navigate but it also added to feeling of privacy. -there were so many high end details that made it extra special (the cozy Frette bath robes, welcome drinks, treat box in the room upon arrival, and the accent lighting in the room). -the location. It's just across the river from the heart of Michigan ave on the north end of a residential development. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the chaos of the city but the park, lake front and river are footsteps away. Negatives: -view was underwhelming ( fourth floor river view . Might choose the park view next time. I'd also recommend not facing the river as there was lots of honking/noise. -the room layout was awkward. They have this huge desk between the bed and tv. The full length mirror is a down a long hallway from bathroom/ where you would be getting dressed. -the room service comes on these huge heavy trays. The staff seemed like they were straining under the weight of it/ it was awkward. -I'd probably skip the spa/massage -$90/ day parking. Was able to do a spothero for about $40 next door.
