We had requested early check in as our plane arrived around 6:30 a.m. We waited for a couple of hours and still had no room. They were supposed to notify us when our rooms were ready. We received no notification. We came back late at night to the hotel. That was when we finally received our hotel rooms. We weren't pleased with our hotel room. There was no regular garbage can in the main area. It was in the bathroom only. They had a recycle can in the main area for paper and bottles/cans only. The bath towels were placed on the high racks in the shower area. My husband had to bring the towels down as I couldn't even reach them. They should know that not everyone is tall enough to reach the towels placed up on the highest shelves. The Kleenex box was near empty and there was no backup box left for us. Normally, they put out a new box or provide a backup box since the Kleenex already had the markings on it to show that the supply was near empty. They didn't clean our room for our second day there. We were okay with that. They cleaned our room on the third day. However, they didn't clean the toilet. We also wondered whether they vacuumed the floors. We never heard them cleaning the rooms. Normally, you hear the vacuum cleaner being used. We never saw any cleaning people in the hotel. The replacement towels were haphazardly placed on the racks and wasn't even folded correctly. Very unprofessional. The breakfast was so-so. I only ate the bacon, eggs, potatoes, waffles, and cut fruit. The eggs were overcooked. The waffles didn't taste fresh. I like the breakfast where I can make my own waffles. The safe wasn't bolted down. Someone could just walk away with the safe. We don't recommend this hotel.

In Chicago for a work mtg. Called as we are cicrlcing around figuring out parking, and they told us to just park out front with flashers, come check in, then they'd give us info for the garage (there's no valet). That worked out well, just wouldn't have know if we hadn't called. Front desk staff was very nice. My room was spacous but HOT. I played with the controls and waited a bit before calling the desk. Maintenacne was up in minutes. He worked on the system, on thephone with his supervisor, and kept telling him the room is HOT (In Aug). They decided to move me, andLeShawn went down to the edesk and got me a new room, key and luggage cart and took me to my new (cold) room - very nice service from him. Similar room, just flipped in layout. Big bed and desk plus seating area, nice large shower. The hotel has a pretty great included breakfast, but it does get crowded. I stayed two nights. Would definitely stay there again - very convenient location. #ReviewsByRL

Wi-Fi doesn't work. One of their staff said, "some computers just won't connect." Currently waiting on 2nd tier of Hyatt tech support to call me back (when?!?!). Meanwhile, I'm supposed to be working... Do not go here on a work trip! UPDATE: They never called me back. I had to tether to phone which really sucks. There are no true curtains so there is no way to blacken the room if you're a late sleeper, off-schedule shift etc.

Come stay for the location and hotel room space. Really nicely located in the Loop area with coffeeshops abound (including a Dollop across the street, a Starbucks down a half block, and a Goddess and the Baker a block and a half away). While the price of the hotel feels high for what you get, all of that price goes towards the hotel's location, the friendly service, and the surprisingly-large hotel rooms. You actually have room to walk around in these hotel rooms which is magical in a downtown hotel! PROS: -Large room! For being in downtown Chicago, this hotel room was basically a mansion. A full couch, a bathroom that wasn't cramped, and enough room to (literally) do an in-room workout? It was glorious. -One block. (Literally, one block.) away from the Washington/Wells train. This connects you to virtually all of downtown and the rest of the city, and it's really easy to walk over there. -The room had beautiful, working AC! In record-setting summer temperatures, I would have traded a lot of features simply for this. -Amazing location. You pay the money for rooms like this for the location, and this hotel has it. If you want to be downtown for whatever reason (work, conference, easy access to Willis Tower), you're getting your money's worth for this place. -TVs are small - but they are located on a swivel. It'll work for playing a movie when you're dead after a day of walking, but it's a bit small if you brought a Playstation game (like we did). -Complimentary breakfast hours are long - and it's an expansive breakfast. The breakfast schedule even includes separate hours to let you know when to go if you want to avoid the most people. The breakfast dining area is super comfortable with plushy chairs and booths - a large step above the general breakfast nooks. -Staff was very friendly. When I accidentally locked myself out, they were understanding. When I had an issue with the GoPuff offer they were pushing, a staff member offered to go pick up some craft beer for me to help out. The front desk is always staffed, and they were fantastic about greeting me every time I came into the hotel. CONS: -The shower really could have used more shelving space. A tiny triangular shelf only fits my shampoo and conditioner, and it meant leaving the rest of the items on the floor. -The hotel's WiFi appears entirely open. Bonus points if you're not a tech nerd and find most hotel's internet connections really hard to access, but extremely insecure from a data security perspective. Be very careful what you choose to do on it. -Housekeeping comes every 4 days currently with no way to request otherwise. We ran out of toilet paper on day 2 (after only checking in with 1 roll available) and ended up having to restock all of our own in-room items, day-by-day, as things ran out. Emptying your own hotel room trash just feels...weird at the rates the rooms go for. If housekeeping is only around every four days, they might consider stocking up rooms with additional items that run out - like toilet paper. And on our five day stay, housekeeping never ended up coming. -Despite being a tall building downtown, it's neighbored by other tall buildings downtown, so there was really no view outside of our window - even near the top floor. We just looked in on cubicles at the office building next door - close enough that you could easily see if someone was smiling or frowning at their computer.  -This also means that the natural light is near-zero. The room felt like a dark cave the majority of the time - even with the windows fully open. (The window glass is tinted blue; it lets in even less of the little light the windows provided.) -It's not Hyatt Place's fault, but you should definitely plan ahead for weekends. All of those great food locations you fell in love with during the weekdays that were right next door will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. It can turn into a walk to find a place for coffee or food on weekends. -The hotel elevator requires your keycard to go to any floor with rooms. This isn't the end of the world, but when you're juggling 30 things, it can be a pain to get the card out and try to make the elevator accept your card to make it to your floor.

Exemplary staff, Deanna and Irvin.

This Hyatt was very clean and in a great location, but most of all, the staff made my otherwise mundane work trip super fun! Deanna served me and other hotel guest friends with a smile, she made great cocktails (try the green tea shots), and was very responsive with our creative drink requests. Irvin was always there to greet me with a warm welcoming smile, as if we were lifelong friends. His calm customer service was appreciated amidst the fast-paced hustle and bustle of the city. Their smiles say it all! Stay here!

Empty breakfast area . Normally , juice, fruit ,oatmeal yogurt, hard boiled eggs, muffins , bagels , pancakes , and occasionally bacon!

My adult sons & I arrived here on a Thursday afternoon through Monday afternoon stay. Let me describe the pros & cons of the property & stay. We didn't know it was Lollapalooza weekend until we arrived so we were not able to upgrade to two doubles. At the time of booking only one of my sons was going. Then the other son arrived later that evening. That is obviously no fault of the hotel. It made our stay a little challenging but we made it work. We appreciated the pull out couch which one son slept on. Cons : no housekeeping services for 4 days! Blamed it on Covid. Maybe being short staffed? . I wish I would have known at time of booking. While no house keeping I get - unfortunately we still had to call several times for additional towels , blankets & toiletries. We had to ask for trash bags & basically put out our trash by the front door. It was always removed but I wish they would have provided the bags upon check in and explained the process. Another con is the pool wasn't working.. I had brought my suit to swim . As we did so much walking every day I never made it to the gym so I can't comment on it . Pros : location location location!! Close to most every thing . We walked to most places as Uber was difficult to get due to the huge concert event. Close to restaurants, river walk, bars, shopping , Starbucks, museums, historical sites , train stations. Morning complimentary breakfast. Buffet style bagels, oatmeal, yogurt , eggs, juice, cereal, pancakes, & on Saturday they even had bacon. Coffee & tea were available. This was a real cost & time saver . Friendly staff : Everyone we encountered were professional & polite and very helpful . They made our stay enjoyable. We were finally able to move to the double bed room our last night due to Curtis. A 3.5 stay with lots of pleasant memories of Chi town !

I booked a couple days here for a surprise birthday trip. Such a reasonable price for 4 days. Definitely helps to book months in advance as some friends couldn't afford it as the date got closer. We showed up early, straight from our flight, and were so thankful our room was ready. I accidently started knocking things over at the counter, and the worker started making jokes about it, lightening the fact that I felt like an idiot lol She was so friendly and was checking right away if we needed any suggestions, being out of towners. Simple check-in process. The rooms were exactly as the pictures implied, no false advertising. I will say, I got a room with a view, but the view was just the building across, so that was a little misleading. The bed was very comfy, the shower had good pressure, and the AC worked. Staples of any place to stay at, yet lacking at many other hotels. I feel like this place went a little above and beyond, as they started texting me on my trip to see how things were going, and if they could help in any way. The room had actually forgotten to be replenished with bathroom essentials, and they had them ready for us when I told them, and came in to grab them from the desk. There isn't much to say about the breakfast. It could be a Covid thing still (no-contact), so I don't want to judge on that too much at this time. Thank you for having coffee every morning. PS I LOVED Chicago. And when I come back, I'm definitely staying here again.

Finally and barely replenished breakfast.
Terry F.

The front desk staff here is fantastic--as is the location. The room is comfortable and the hallways quiet. A really good choice for business travelers who want to stay close to everything In the area. No frills hotel that probably would not impress tourists or visitors, however. The breakfast is especially unremarkable. When I stayed here, the service staff barely replenished the hot items like scrambled eggs and potatoes at all. As with most downtown Chicago hotels, you never know what rate you will get. Based upon the high season, conferences, citywide events, etc. you could see a reasonable nightly rate of around $110 a night or a ridiculous rate like $250 a night.

I woke up with bites all over my legs and butt. Found 2 bed bugs in the bed with me. I was able to catch them in a cup. DO NOT STAY HERE! There is def an infestation going on. I was in room 803.

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

Lady on the phone was rude, told me no and hung up on me mid sentence. I wasn't able to eat my share because well, it was LATE. Wife said her food simply wasn't good regardless. Something as simple as butter and jelly for the toast wasn't provided. Arrived back between meetings. They finally took my keys then some dude chased me down saying they can't keep them and I have to keep waiting. Oh this made me LATE to my next meeting. $89 a day for poor performance was not worth it. I would 100% suggest parking yourself or a block over at London house. They always have 4+ attendants. Help with luggage and doors etc. oh and it's CHEAPER. We appreciated the room upgrade. The room itself was okay. It wouldn't get below 71 degrees and got upwards of 76 degrees during the day. While searching hilton.com for a hotel to stay at on the day of my birthday, Hampton Inn Majestic…read moreChicago Theatre District was the first to pop-up within Chicago. I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

Our view was stunning and I loved I could see downtown and the river from our room. We booked the cinema suite for a cute movie night and I loved that. They had a cute popcorn station with candy and pop, plus you can order room service. The spa was amazing and the facilities were nice.

My wife and I are finally reflecting on our stay at The Langham, Chicago, from June 2021, when we…read moregot married and spent a few nights there with family. Although we grew up in the Chicago suburbs and know the city well, it was our first time staying at the Langham, and it left a strong impression. The most striking aspect was how spacious the room felt. We likely stayed in a Premier Room, which was quite large by city standards. The bed was massive, very comfortable, and just the right firmness. A detail that stands out is the space between the foot of the bed and the wall where the TV was mounted, which makes the room feel open and calm rather than cramped. The décor was elegant without feeling stuffy, highlighted by thoughtful touches like an espresso machine. The bathroom was another highlight: the frosted-glass window offered privacy while maintaining a sense of connection, and the rain shower had excellent water pressure and felt indulgent. The location is fantastic, convenient for work in the Loop, time in Grant Park, shopping on Michigan Avenue, or dining in River North or Fulton Market. During our trip, we ate nearby both nights, which made getting around easy and stress-free. The staff was warm and helpful throughout our stay, and breakfast at the hotel restaurant was memorable, even if the details are a bit hazy now. The lobby is beautiful, and several family members who stayed with us also commented on how much they enjoyed the hotel. At the time, pricing felt mid-range for a luxury hotel in Chicago, offering excellent value. It was summer, likely a less expensive time to visit, but even so, considering the room size, comfort, service, and location, it seemed like money well spent year-round. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We would happily return and are eager to explore other Langham properties worldwide.

We were in town briefly for a wedding, and the JW Marriott was our hotel of choice. While not…read moreluxury, the hotel was very nice and comfortable, and the location was central to our wedding happenings. Everything was great until I checked out and discovered that I had been charged $88 per night for parking. That was quite unexpected. I had been in Chicago just a few months earlier and had paid $55 at the L7 Hotel. So I was shocked that the JW could charge so much. How is their valet parking better than the valet parking at the L7? I realize now that had I been traveling alone, and not with my family, it would have been cheaper to fly to Chicago, than drive the 4.5 hours from Ohio. Apparently the hospitality industry hasn't caught on to the current affordability crisis, or at least Marriott hasn't.

Check in is quick, rooms are fine (and clean), and the executive lounge is nice. I was warned about eating in the bar on the first floor, which I hadn't done in a few years, but it was getting late, and the weather stunk. I saw friends in the bar area, so I took root at the table nearby. Service was fine, and I enjoyed a few of the Amber bee on draft. The menu looked good, and I ended up with a steak fried rice bowl. The steak was gross. It didn't even look like steak that should be served. It was fatty and tasteless. I ate less than 1/2 the rice and 1/3 of the steak. I wasn't starving, so it wasn't a huge deal, but those who told me to avoid the bar area for food were right.

I've been to Miru many times and finally got to try out the hotel for a staycation…read more Pros: -I loved that they had two restaurant options in the hotel. Both have incredible views but I would definitely recommend having at least one meal on the Miru patio if you are there during nice weather. -I was most surprised by their massive gym and has stunning views. It's also open 24 hours. They offered Pilates classes as well for an extra fee. -the hotel is brand new and all the finishes are so high end. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hallways are huge and felt like a maze to navigate but it also added to feeling of privacy. -there were so many high end details that made it extra special (the cozy Frette bath robes, welcome drinks, treat box in the room upon arrival, and the accent lighting in the room). -the location. It's just across the river from the heart of Michigan ave on the north end of a residential development. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the chaos of the city but the park, lake front and river are footsteps away. Negatives: -view was underwhelming ( fourth floor river view . Might choose the park view next time. I'd also recommend not facing the river as there was lots of honking/noise. -the room layout was awkward. They have this huge desk between the bed and tv. The full length mirror is a down a long hallway from bathroom/ where you would be getting dressed. -the room service comes on these huge heavy trays. The staff seemed like they were straining under the weight of it/ it was awkward. -I'd probably skip the spa/massage -$90/ day parking. Was able to do a spothero for about $40 next door.
