I believe the sales person's name was William and he was very easy to deal with and had my son, the dads and groomsmen done in 2.5 hours. He was very helpful and was pretty spot on with what size the guys should be wearing. We were way too early for ordering but my son is moving for school and would not be back until the wedding. I can count on The Black Tux when I need a suit for a wedding. I've gone four times and have not been disappointed yet. They have a variety of suits and styles to choose from and I've gotten a different one each time. They're located inside Nordstrom at the men's section on the 3rd floor. She has no personality, no drive, couldn't care less. Maybe worse service because of how little she cares. Not sure if this is because of the company lack of value of its employees or these two are just horrible... but don't come here. I'm not a fan of tuxes or the annoying process of multiple fittings, boring selections and a lengthy sizing process, but I do have to say that The Black Tux has changed the game. A very refreshing & modernized approach to the entire process with a fresher & younger selection to chose from. Shipping came much faster than anticipated and the time they allot to make sure everything is as expected (plus a good buffer for any corrections) is VERY impressive. I haven't returned my rental yet, but the box it comes in (with even a built-in handle) and the return packaging & tape, is such a convenient and thoughtful touch. I wanted to also add the following: My wedding is on July 21st, I am the groom and I have 4 groomsmen. I believe the policy states to receive the tuxedo at least 10 days prior to the wedding date. Today is July 12th and I have yet to receive my tuxedo (the groom). One of my groomsmen received the wrong size jacket, is now having to contact your associate to get the jacket size replaced, hopefully in time for the wedding. It has been a headache of an experience from beginning to end. I will admit, it was slightly hard to find them at first, but luckily the third floor of Nordstroms at Glendale Galleria is not large and they are located in the men suits section with a section stating "The Black Tux." They sent email reminders and they were on time for my appointment. They set up everything online, along with the wedding details or event for a tux, measurements and they have things for you to try before you decide if you want to rent or buy the items. Went in today for a sizing consultation and left immediately upon arrival. The person who was helping me, Garineh, had the worst attitude I've ever received. Look, I get it's a Sunday and you may not want to be here but I didn't warrant the type of disservice and attitude she had. I had questions about their policy and the more questions I had, the more irritated she got. I'm sorry I didn't know there was a policy where I don't get to actually try on the suit 10 days before my wedding when a ton of reviews left here claim that the right sizes are never sent and it requires a lot of back and forth. I told her I was a bit worried about the 10 day policy since to be frank, I read a lot of suits with the wrong sizes get sent and she looked at me oddly and said, " no, about 80% gets the right size". Yeah, no thanks. Thankfully, I live in LA and there's tons of other options for suit rentals. I'm sure Black Tux works well but for anyone reading this, order the suits online or go to the other Santa Monica location and avoid this one because you're going to get a horrible customer experience. read more

I found myself needing a tux last second (two weeks out), and came into the black tux a little stressed out and with no appointment (didn't know I needed one). Lucky enough, Garineh squeezed me in, and her relaxed confident attitude calmed me right down and made me feel at ease. She was super friendly, efficient, and helpful, especially considering I cut a little into her lunch break (something I found out afterward when I asked if I had cut into another appointment). She really made me feel comfortable and confident buying my first tux since I knew nothing about tuxes. You sent me a terrible quality tux jacket that had a worn down lapel that looked awful. The sleeves were also too short and the pants were 3 inches too long. Then you sent replacements and the pants were perfect but the new jacket that was said to be a 44R because you didn't even have a 44S which I needed was really a 46Long. It was so huge and unwearable. After that I tried to call many times and emailed and never got a response. Thank you for destroying my wedding!!!! I will never recommend you all and I will post how much you all do not care about the groom or his wedding party which you also messed up 3/6 of their orders and had no "invintory". I'm talking sending pants that are 4 sizes too big and are in wearable. What is wrong with your company. It's going down in flames. No customer service. No one responds to phone calls or emails. Terrible. Just terrible. You should be ashamed of yourself. You have one job to do and you promise to make people look good and you can't fulfill that promise. Never use this company. I gave up at one point and accepted I would never get the style of items I asked for and just hoped I'd be able to get replacements that fit and they still failed. In the end they made me promises about at least paying my tailor for alterations and have failed to do so in full because the work that needed to be done was more extensive than they were willing to pay for and had to be rushed which is obviously another charge. In the end I didn't have a tux that looked or fit the way I wanted it to on my wedding day and spent more time with the companies awful service than I did with any other vendor throughout this process. I don't understand how they did this, it should have been simple after I went into the store and did everything in person but they failed me and my party every step of the way and I am still being charged a lot of money. I have no choice but to dispute the charges for at least the grooms tux through my bank because they wont even pay for the work I had to do to make it wearable. Nobody should ever use this company, they will go out of their way to make things hard for you. read more

***BLACK TUX READ THIS. IT COULD HAVE BEEN A TERRIBLE REVIEW*** Lauren saved the day at this location. After getting fitted, I was sent a tux jacket that looked raggedy and completely the wrong size just two days before my best friends very extravagant wedding. I called customer service (a call center in another country which made it difficult to communicate, but also creates a lack of empathy for the situation) who suggested they would mail me a new tux that should arrive on the day of the wedding. I would NOT take that chance for a second, and I was somewhat shocked that was their solution this late in the game. I drove to this location in Glendale right away, just before they closed, and explained the situation to Lauren. She totally understood and completely took care of everything (even though she was still busy with another fitting) so that I walked out that night with a tux in-hand that looked perfect (which I promptly returned after the wedding) and put me at total ease. I was ready to leave this company a scathing review. I do believe in these situations, their over-the-phone customer service and emergency shipping/exchanging policies need improvement. I would suggest tweaking your operation strategy, and having more backups for emergencies like this in-store. However, my experience in-store was fantastic each time, and once again I couldn't thank Lauren enough for saving the day and easing the stress on such a big occasion. Scheduled an appointment April 25th 1130-12AM. They email asking for confirmation on the 23rd. Cool. I reply I'm going. 9A.M on the day of my appointment, they cancel due to the rep being sick. Nice... Must be only one person working this location... Now I have to reschedule to fit into my busy schedule... Reschedule for May 21st. My appointment is at 2-230pm this time. No email about confirmation. I get there 2:13pm.The rep says she cancelled my appointment because It was past 2:15. I tell her well its not 15 minutes over yet... Can I just get my measurements and Ill order it online. She goes on to say its cancelled. Rep had no attempt to even bother to give me 1 measurement. An employee for Nordstroms offered to measure my chest for me. I should've asked him if it takes 15 minutes to measure that. Super disappointed I have to get a rental this place. After having a nightmare with Hugo Boss in there Boston division I thought I'd give Nordys in Glendale a shot for my suit/ tuxedo. It was spur of the moment and I need an outfit to attend an upcoming wedding. Turns out Hugo Boss wanted to charge me $299 extra for a style which they misquoted me on earlier. I said "fuggedaboutit" ... I'll take my business elsewhere. I met a hidden gem of a woman named Lauren at the Glendale Nordys Black Tux Shop. As soon as I spoke to her I noticed she had style and flair. She helped me select a suit and tie along with shoes I felt were of GQ quality. I was happy to see she helped me select accessories eg cuffs and braces which I needed and we share the same style. When she perfectly adjusted my shirt sleeves with my coat I knew she wasn't a rookie. I don't know where NORDSTROM has been hiding this girl, but by far people in the other departments should take notes on how she treats clients . After selecting my suit I visited the men's shoe department to select a pair of formal shoes. The girl there was short and frankly didn't seem to want to engage in helping a client. I said no problem "toots" I'll just go to a different Nordstrom. Five stars for Lauren. After buying numerous amounts of clothing and shoes from Nordstrom's I noticed Lauren wasn't pushy and knew her mens clothing very well, so I will by far be coming back to this store. The woman tells us go online and make one. We ask if she can help us (since we're right there at the location) She says no she's working on the website. A disaster! Do NOT deal with Black Tux! I paid and ordered three months prior. The fitting measurements had to be confirmed at David's Bridal at South Coast Plaza, so I drove the 22 miles each way. The order was modified to eliminate the shoes, handkerchief. The package (tux, including shoes, handkerchief, bow tie, shirt) arrived and didn't fit, so I instantly notified Black Tux. A helpful lady said they would ship out a jacket the next size up, but it arrived just five days prior to the event, and the sleeves were ridiculously long. I managed to get the sleeves pinned up, jacket pressed for a mere $30, but the shirt sleeves were too short. The whole thing was just ridiculous. I've returned the whole package to Black Tux and now am having a hassle over credit. I cannot recommend any aspect of this business to anyone. Stay away! There are other rental places who do a better job. read more

I ordered a rental tux for an event I have March 14, I ordered it with the same sizes I used for a different suit that I rented in the past. My sizes were a bit off and before ordering a replacement, I wanted to stop by the showroom to get some sizing advise or maybe try on some of their suits so I can have a better idea on what sizes I should get when ordering a replacement. Well, I showed up and there were two people (a man and a woman) with ipads standing behind podiums. I approached them and explained my situation and what my goal for the visit was, only for the woman to rudely blow me off and tell me to go to a tailor. She said that if I need measurements, a tailor can do that. She also said that if I need alterations, to just take the suit to a tailor. This was very disappointing. I've had great experience with Black Tux in the past, but I was super hesitant to take a trip to their showroom and well I was severely disappointed. I think going forward I'll take the advise of just going to a tailor and also just getting a suit rental from somewhere else. read more

I wanted to love the whole rental service of this company. The tuxedos we rented for our wedding were beautiful! My big complaint is that we sent all our men to get fitted, which took hours!! Upon arrival, 3 pants did not fit. I am a chill bride so I did not panic, but it was super inconvenient to have to call and get sizing resent out in the midst of last minute wedding chaos. I was very disappointed with The Black Tux. I used them for the groomsman of my wedding. All of the tuxedos and shoes did not fit initially and had to be replaced with very little time to spare before the wedding. Additionally, many of the garments were damaged and had holes. The most upsetting part of my experience with The Black Tux is that they sent the completely wrong tuxedo to one of my groomsman that did not match the others. There was nothing that could be done the day of the wedding, so one of the groomsman had to wear the wrong tuxedo. These tuxedos were much more expensive than any other traditional rental business and the price was not worth the convenience of having them mailed to the groomsman because they all had to be sent back to get the appropriate sizes. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! We accidentally put our own jacket into the return shipping box, and called them right away. They told us they will tell the warehouse to look for it, but I don't think they ever did. They promised to call us back, and they never did!! They said it took 30 days for lost and found. So we waited. We should have just driven to Gardena for the delivery, it's only 37mins from us, or even tried to find it at fedex. Shouldn't have trusted them! They claimed that our jacket was not in the box, but there were 2.6lbs difference between the receiving and returning boxes. So they either lost the jacket or someone took our jacket (it's a pricey one). If they lost the jacket - they don't have a way to track who has operated on the newly coming package, to figure out what happened?! If someone took it - unbelievable! They hired a stealer?! Just a hour ago, they told us they will call back after 20 mins. But again, they didn't! I understand that we made a mistake that we shipped our jacket out. Regardless of its price and it has our wedding memories, we did everything we can, everything they told us to do. But turned out there is no room for us to correct the mistake, even though we called them right away! Since they were not capable to find such a large item, we requested to search by ourselves. They rejected the ask too. Their rental agreement is basically helping them get away with making effort in finding our jacket, losing or stealing our jacket. It's very frustrating! read more

The jacket /blazer was way too small 8.everything was wrinkled including the white shirt. There was a wrinkle all around the area where it gets tucked in to the pants 9. I let everything sit for a week to see if the wrinkles would come off but they didnt. I had to take everything in to my local cleaners for a last minute emergency press, the day of the wedding. 10 . Like I said for me and my guys getting fitted and most of the suits were wrong. Why did I get fitted if it wasn't even going to fit. You sent everyone a belts but slacks that have no belt loops and charged me for 7 belts. So what was the purpose having measurements done professionally. And you purposely don't give out your phone number. And when I did call to try and get my suit fixed you wanted me to take it to a seamstress and pay for them to do what I paid you for.
