Such a gem of a find. Visiting the area and in desperate need of coffee because jet lag is hitting hard. Stumbled upon spot and the vibes are perfect. Jackie took our order and greeted us as we walked in. Mercedes made the drinks and brought them out to where we'd were sitting. Ordered the light skin Keisha and the cold world. Both are good. Just a note, if you enjoy a coffee on the sweeter side, you'll want the light skin Keisha. Honestly, I wish there was a spot like this where I'm from. Comfy seating, kind staff, and good drinks. Just great vibes. read more

For me, this was a 3.5 star experience, so I rounded up to 4. I met up with a friend here to check out Black Coffee and have a soul-soothing catch up chat. I arrived a little early and had time to explore the menu and talk through my order decision with the staff. Even though there were a handful of people sitting at tables working, I was the only person needing to order so the staff took time to engage me, answer my questions, and walk me through some of the menu items. The vibes are quintessentially cultured from the decor to the music to the patrons. We perched on a couch and sat for almost three hours, sharing pictures, swapping stories, and verbally dreaming forward. In that time, our orders were delivered to us and another customer who was ear hustling a bit came over to network with us. It was a good time. The snag I ran into was trying to order food. I'd intended to have both a hot drink and food, but they were out of many food items and ingredients at the time I ordered. I ultimately went with the Brown Skin Girl (made hot with oat milk) and an avocado toast. They were out of arugula, which is one of the standard ingredients. I was fine with this as I don't love arugula so asked them to make it anyway. I wanted to upgrade to the version that has lox and egg, but they were out of the salmon too. The coffee drink was delicious but I'd skip the toast next time. It was quite a skimpy serving for the price ($13.99); see picture for context. When it was served to me, I requested plasticware but they were also out of that. Through it all, the staff was excellent. The restroom was clean and well-stocked. There is a shared parking lot with other businesses, and there was plenty of parking at the time I went (mid-day and mid-week). Tl;dr -- the vibes and specialty coffee are excellent, the food prices are too high for the product, the staff is attentive and informative, its a comfortable place to hang out to catch up with friends or on work read more

This is such a nice place to work or meet up with friends to grab a coffee! We came in on a Tuesday morning and worked for a couple hours. There were plenty of plugs everywhere which is always a plus! Different type of seating throughout. We both really enjoyed our lattes! They weren't overall sweet but delivered the profile described on the menu. I also loved the handwritten encouraging notes on the cup ! Such a cute touch! read more

When I was doing a hills4atl event for Juneteenth, I saw that Black Coffee had a stand!!! I was so excited. They had their light skin keisha and the new new, along with drip coffee. Their two samples were life changers. I had the light skin keisha (it's like an iced lavender vanilla latte with honey drizzle, so good). The new new was like an iced passion fruit sweetened green tea. It was extremely refreshing. Please give this coffee shop some love because their coffee and drinks are a 10/10 read more

I do love this place! I will happily pay over $20 for a Light skin Kiesha and ATL toast hold the egg and salmon please. I haven't found an avocado toast anywhere that matches it. Service is not fast, but you know what they say--fast food ain't good and good food ain't fast. There's a nice cozy vibe for you while you wait and you can call orders in too (doesn't always help with speed either tho). read more

Black Coffee Atlanta is such an aesthetically pleasing and creative place to be. They have really cute names for their coffee, espresso, & tea options. There's also a small section of light bites to enjoy. Highly recommend the Cash Money Matcha!!!! The cinnamon & vanilla twist really set it off!!! The vibe was great, but the coffee was a lot more expensive than I expected. I could forgive that if the quality was very high, but a straight black dark roast tastes okay, but ultimately a little weak. If it were strengthened, it would be too generic with a lack of the qualities I'm looking for. Moreover, the cup was not hot enough. Just feels too expensive to be a quick batch brew delivery with a lack of quality control. read more

Stopped in to be stationary for a meeting I had to take. Very welcoming and clean environment, I ordered the light skin Keisha based upon owner recommendations and it was amazing! I got "Gas" (Double Espresso) and "The Marathon" (Pour over) Good quality espresso, not overly acidic or bitter with a nice layer of creama on the top. Slight burnt taste so possibly not perfectly dialed in but I would get it again if I was in the area. They mentioned they switch beans out regularly so I'd come back again to see what other blends they use for Espresso. I'm newer to pour over but the Ethiopian beans they used made a great cup. Especially a black owned. And it's around the corner from my job. Sshooott I hit the jackpot. Passed this gem on my way to work. And decided to look at the menu. I decided on the grill cheese. The menu item " The Summertime Cheesy" beautifully grill butter white bread stuffed with cheese, arugula, onion (yes onions) and tomatoes. I to thought why onions (oh!no onions) but when I say, those onion made everything blend the ingredients so perfectly together. I went back and bought 3 more after work. My first stop in I got one of the Summertime Cheesy toast and the Auntie tea. Which is a vanilla chai. Can I be honest it didn't care for the tea very much. It didn't have enough chai taste in it and a bit watery. But I forgot about that after I took a bite of the sandwich. Heck! I was almost finished with the sandwich before I could get back in my car and put my seatbelt on. Also, the vibe here is eclectic R&B, smooth jazz get a little work done situation. The staff is amazing. The cafe is extremely clean and organized. Plenty of seating and few seats outside. So, you can enjoy a good cup of BLACK COFFEE. read more

The Grilled Salmon was freshly prepared, seasoned to perfection and cooked with scrambled eggs on top. The veggies that was added with a mild balsamic sauce really pieced the meal together nicely with a hot cup of tea. Today my friends and I stumbled upon The Black Coffee! We all ordered something different and I can tell you all the taste tests were great! I got the Brown Skin Girl that was suggested by Mercedes our cashier! She told me the oat milk made the perfect milk combo with their homemade brown sugar syrup and she was SO RIGHT! It was absolutely delicious! I even got some of the syrups for home! Such a beautiful little shop with the most friendly staff (Jackie was so welcoming to everyone who walked in as well!)! I love coffee, so I am always looking for a new coffee shop to try. A search on Yelp produced this place, so we had to check it out. It's a really cute shop. They were filming a reality show when we stopped by lol. Might be on tv, anyhoo, my daughter got the Light Skin Keisha and I got a drink called Brown Skin Girl, both were iced and they were amazing. I didn't want to leave It's definitely a vibe people were there ordering and socializing it was awesome! Parking can be a little limited depending on when you go. I arrived around 11:30am for another event but as soon as I pulled in I was like I'm going there for coffee! I had to! Anyhoo I was able to park easy but once I left my previous event the parking lot was packed. I just walked right next door and when I went to the counter and stated it was my first time there I immediately received a warm welcome. If you know me you know coffee and black business are two of my favorite things. I've been plotting on visiting this coffee shop for ever, when I found out it was 15 mins from my house I had to stop by this past weekend. And I think I found my new favorite coffee shop in the city. The feeling of community was impeccable. It had small coffee shop vibes and like the baristas/business owners make it a personal goal to greet and get to know everyone. The names of the different items on the menu were so unique and on brand. I had the Brown Skin Girl latte and I could not stop saying "mmmmmm" with every sip. Nice vibe to come and have coffee and conversation with others, read, do some work on your laptop or just get out. Had the cheesecake cappuccino. Nice staff and quick ordering. Loved seeing young people there in chess lessons and on their laptops. They also offer light food items. Parking is free but the lot can fill fast based on how many people are at other establishments in the plaza. read more

Such a cute space. Great for grabbing your daily fix of caffeine and small bite and getting some work done. I had an iced dirty chai latte with oat milk aka dirty south and it was sooo good a perfect blend of flavors i also got a grilled cheese which was your standard sandwich with cheddar on toasted buttery bread. I will say their prices ate are a little bit higher than your average coffee shop but I'm not opposed to stopping by every now and again to support a dope black small business. read more

I love love love this place. I will def make this a stop on my list anytime I visit Atlanta. I got the light skin Keisha and a caramel macchiato. My niece got the dirty chai. Light skin Keisha was delightful. I was craving it the rest of my trip. The caramel macchiato didn't show up as hard as LSK did. And my niece said she wanted her chai a bit dirtier. She couldn't taste the shot. Atmosphere and ambiance is nice and relaxing. I highly recommend a trip over there. I ordered 3 of their coffees, a T-shirt and a mug online. Love supporting our businesses. Update: tried the Kenyan coffee and it was exceptional. Super smooth. Excellent connotes of caramel. So delicious. Try it. You won't regret it. read more

Aaaaamazing!! I attended the Brews and Booze event and it DID NOT disappoint!! The vibe, energy, and of course coffee cocktails were incredible! I love that it was more than just a tasting! It was a true educational experience!! The bartender, Sarah, made incredible drinks. The signature drink, The Morning After was a true winner and that Irish Coffee was the best I've ever tasted!! The only thing I'd add to make it perfect would be signage (or more if I missed it) letting patrons know to clear their own dishes and where to put them. The baristas are hardworking and busy (shoutout to them all), and sometimes the duty ends up falling on another patron to clean up dishes that weren't theirs. I assume people just don't know. Other than that, it's a great go-to for enjoying good morning eats while getting work done.

My request is denied to my face, because it's "too late." Another 10 minutes goes by before I get my food, and it's mid. There's no way you can estimate that my food will be ready on 15 minutes when it takes an hour. Then you tell me to wait 10 minutes 3 more times? Ridiculous.

Recently visited The Black Coffee Company in Lakewood Heights and the entire shop exudes positive vibes. I spoke with co-owners Jamin and Chris about their shop and story and let's just say Black Coffee Atlanta is more than just delicious coffee and teas! Their company values are entrepreneurship, financial freedom, and community empowerment. Definitely the kind of coffee I want every morning. The owner are knowledgeable and passionate about their offerings. Jamin took the time to explain our coffee and tea choices. My choice: The Ethiopian Shakiso Coffee (Great flavor!!!) My husband's choice: The Texas Sweet Loose Leaf Tea with lavender syrup (Tea was great but really loved the lavender syrup). Black Coffee Company also sell their socially conscience apparel and stock product from local vendors. Their coffee and tea offerings are also available for purchase online. The Black Coffee shop is second to none! I reside in California but had this place on my agenda to check out while visiting Atlanta. I was greeted at the door with some southern hospitality. While coming inside the ambience was very inviting. I came across other vendors showcasing their products as well. The staff at The Black Coffee personalities were all so nice and genuine. One young man by the name of Jaylen took special care of me. He took time to find out what coffee taste that I desire. He then went and whipped up a special drink for me named "Brown Skin Girl". It was delicious too! If I lived in Atlanta they would probably get tired of seeing me. This place is a must visit when visiting Atlanta. read more
