Cute little coffee shop next to one of my fave vegan restaurants. I finally had the chance to stop in on my way to my loctitian. I like that they have extended hours because not all coffee shops stay open into the afternoon. The vibe is chill with some background music playing and a few tables. Easy to find coffee shop on the west end with very kind staff who spoke to everyone like family. I got the Blue Magic with Oat Milk and it was magically delicious . The wait didn't take long, there is seating inside and a little outside. For the most part it is nice and relaxing in there, people were working and reading. My experience with Portrait Coffee was not that good. The products weren't great but the service was subpar as well. We ordered cold brew, which tasted like it was made from burnt beans and a latte that didn't taste great either. The barista never calls out your name for your order although they ask for it at the register. We had to ask multiple times if something was ours. read more

Cool, vibey coffee shop on my side of town. Portrait offers coffee and specialty drinks, teas and hot cocoa beverages. They also sell the coffee for home-brewing. I came for a recess night event with a DJ, food offering and of course, games to stir up your inner child joy. There is also merch available, centering dope ATL memorabilia, including 96 Olympic and OutKast affairs. It was definitely a good time. I have been a patron of the restaurant located next door for years so I am always passing this spot to go there . I finally decided to stop in and patronize the spot. The staff was pretty blah. Not really sure how else to describe it. They did not do anything wrong, just not giving off the best energy. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk. There were plenty of seats available so I sat down and waited for my drink to be prepared. It took about 5 minutes for them to make the drink. It was ok-- nothing to recommend. I think that I owe them another visit to try the coffee out since that is what they are known for . The one thing I did love about this spot is the decor. It is simple , but provides character. Even on a rainy, chilly morning, the shop was crowded but we were able to find a spot to chat. At first, it was a bit quiet. I was influenced through Threads and figured I'd drive down on a random weekday. The parking is plentiful, the decor is lovely with a but of a 90s vibe, and the coffee was delicious! I ordered the Aunt Viv which was so good, I've been thinking about it ever since. I sat outside on the patio with a friend and he ordered an iced matcha drink which he enjoyed. I even ordered an iced latte (sweet potato) to go. I didn't enjoy that one as much but I'd be willing to try it hot instead. They had quite a few tables inside for studying/chilling/meeting etc. and the baristas were friendly and quick. I'm already planning my next visit! read more

I saw an instagram reel/tiktok going around about their Aunt Viv and I totally forgot about it. Then I was down the street at Raani with my friend Sophia and we were coffee shop hoping so we zoomed down to Portrait Coffee. We got super lucky too, because the day we went they were closing early and we got there right in time to try their Aunt Viv Latte! They use fresh cardmamom and you can really taste it in the drink. It's the perfect ratio of sweet and "spiceful". I say spiceful insteady of spicey. We also luckily got free parking and some cute pictures of their decor. What's great about Potraot is they offer 2 options of roasted coffee for the day so uou can taste different varieties of the beans they roast amd sell. My favorite lately has been the Toni! I'm a big fan of Portrait Coffee. This shop came recommended while I was co-working at FiNCA to Filter O4W--I couldn't stop raving about how good the coffee was there, and someone suggested I give Portrait a try. I arrived on a Tuesday around 10 a.m., and it was already pretty packed. Surprisingly, I was in a tea kind of mood and didn't try their coffee (I know, I know), but I was still totally satisfied with my choice. I was hoping to grab a seat at the community table, but I was a little too late, so I opted for a bar seat instead. The music was everything. The vibe felt so vintage--vinyls on the wall, minimalist decor, and just overall good energy. It felt so nice being there that I didn't even reach for my headphones once. I stayed for about 3-4 hours before heading out when I started to get hungry. I didn't notice any pastries or small bites (and I didn't ask), but that would've been a nice touch. All in all, this spot definitely made my list of go-to places. Can't wait to come back--next time, for the coffee. read more

Came here for drinks on a weekday morning as I was in the area. It was pretty busy. Really appreciate how they have a parking lot next to the coffee shop. We ordered the aunt viv and a matcha latte. I asked if the matcha was sweetened already and the cashier said it was. And I told her that was great, I will take that. When I got my order the matcha was not sweet at all and tasted like straight up milk. I went back and asked if I could get some sweetener. The barista started listing out sweetener options but before I could respond a different barista came over with a bottle. A bottle of what? Idk. lol. But I just opened the lid anyways as I did not want to be difficult, I just wanted a better tasting matcha. She then proceeded to say you must've ordered it unsweet. Which I didn't, I didn't even know they had that option as the cashier said it comes sweetened already. I told her I ordered it sweetened. Then they proceeded to say well we made it unsweet. I thought that interaction was pretty unpleasant and not friendly. I ordered it sweetened and did not appreciate their tone when they were the ones who didn't make it how I ordered. Recommended by a local, as one of Atlanta's best coffee, we made the trek from downtown to Portrait in two Ubers. We sample a couple of offering and many of us ended up purchasing a bag of beans to take back to California. Friendly staff, spending extra time with us tourists, we could tell it was a local favorite from the time we walked through the door. Getting an Uber in the area to get back to the Marriott Marquis took a bit of work and we ended up taking a Lyft. Cute coffee place in the West End across the street from the Wren's Nest. We were here at an off hour, so there was no line. Baristas were super friendly, and the space was nicely decorated. We ordered a London fog with cardamom (I forget the drink's name) and an Aunt Viv, a latte with brown sugar and cardamom. I like how the signature drinks all nod to iconic Black cultural figures. The Aunt Viv was very smooth; I am typically not a huge cardamom person, but it really worked for this particular latte. The London Fog was a little less concentrated than I would have liked, but still solid. They also sell merch and their own beans by the register, which makes for a great gift. read more
