First things first, I've had coffee here a couple of times and it's good. But I've been taking a chance at different places whenever I have a taste for a matcha latte, and it's been a little tough finding one that I enjoy from some of the spots in town. However, Brash is one of the few shops I've found that does it well! They maintain the integrity of the matcha by not adding sweetener unless you ask for it. I do enjoy a matcha latte with vanilla simple syrup every now and again, and theirs does not disappoint. On this particular day, I'd stopped for lunch and some shopping then popped by here just before leaving, and I was in and out pretty quickly. The staff is always chill and friendly. Brash is still, hands down, my favorite cappuccino and the city of Atlanta. I haven't been able to visit in a couple years, but stepping inside, it felt just the same as it did in 2019. The staff is friendly and competent, and the menu is small but specialized. The existence of neat seasonal drinks was new, but I was glad for this interesting update and tried the matcha lemonade. It was just what I needed for the hot blazes midday sun! My husband got an iced coffee and was equally pleased. We stayed inside briefly, just enough to get our drinks, and then took our young kiddos out across the small street to sit on the steps in front of the Free People and Ormsby's storefronts. Keep in mind, parking is available in nearby decks or lots and is now all paid parking. Brash coffee is inside of a shipping container and has very minimal seating (like four to six chairs) and no bathroom. They do have some benches outside, but these are absolutely exposed to the elements with no shade, so beware of the Georgia heat. Dear God. I had to come back and edit this bc I was too irritated to thumb it all out better. I came in Sunday 1/19. A Reddit user had this listed as a good place for beans and I was excited bc it is literally right by my apartment. Two girls were working, one was nice, being helpful, and the other was extremely rude, when asking about their selection, the rude one was commenting super short/annoyed "I don't know, I don't know anything right now". The nice girl was giving me actual info, points to her. Ignoring whatever rude girl was doing, I had selected my bag to buy but - I noticed the top shelf had coffee in a different bag than the lower shelves so I reached up to grab one so I could read it and the rude one literally spoke to me like am a child "Please don't touch those!" and I don't mean in a polite way - a VERY condescending way, as if my hands were about to make them dirty or something, that was enough for me so I just put the bag I was gonna buy back on the shelf and called her out for being super rude and left. So for today's meeting I suggested this spot after a quick google search. We enjoyed the outside sitting area on this beautiful Tuesday afternoon. AND they serve Emerald City Bagels which I'd really hoped to try, so sitting in the cabinet right in front of me was the type of convenience I adore. I ordered the everything bagel with cream cheese. Today, I decided to stop by since there wasn't a Starbucks around and had some time to spare before church. The location itself is pretty cool, as it's known as "The Box." Take that literally, it's a quaint shipping container box right next to Shake Shack. It was very tight and packed when I walked in, so I waited outside until it cleared out. Once it was my time to order, I decided on a brown sugar cinnamon oatmilk latte, which came to around $6.50. I didn't have to wait too long for a Sunday morning and they even had a pickup window outside if you have your dog with you. The latte was too good to even get a picture! It was a 9/10, but drink some water with it cause it made me a bit jittery. I will definitely return! read more
