I came to the Betty for New Years Eve. It's a really pretty lounge and I love the circular bar it's very New York! I was super uncomfortable as there were like 4-5 bouncers and I don't understand why they were needed. For drinks, complimentary champagne was offered and I ordered the Evergreen Whisper cocktail ($20) it was very similar to a gimlet. Gratuity is automatically added to each tab FYI. My cocktail was great but not worth $20. The bartender who helped me was actually very sweet and kind. The crafted libations cocktail menu is only available until 10pm although they are open until to 12a and later most nights. That doesn't make much sense. The drinks are very overpriced, some drinks are over $40.. very odd for the area. The ticketed event had a black tie dress code. So I was anticipating an elevated experience. I was the only person there and I arrived around 10pm. People arrived around 12:00am not dressed in black tie and it was filled with frat boys in jeans. had such a mixed experience at The Betty. Up until the very end, everything was honestly great. The waitress and hostess were fantastic, attentive, friendly, and made the night enjoyable. We were there from around 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM, having drinks and a genuinely great time. Then at 10:15 PM, everything shifted. A bouncer came to our table and told us they needed it back. Totally fine, we understood and immediately asked our waitress for the check. She didn't come back right away and was helping other tables, which is understandable. We even had a credit card out and ready to pay as soon as she returned. But then the bouncer came back again, asking if our card was ready. We said yes, but we still didn't have the check. Instead of coordinating with the waitress or confirming whether we had been closed out, he grabbed the card himself and went to her. From there, it just felt rushed and disorganized. He started clearing our table and came back again repeating that they needed it. The issue wasn't being asked to leave, it was the lack of coordination and the way it was handled. It wasn't our fault that the check hadn't been brought yet, and instead of communicating with his own team, he kept pressuring us. It completely ruined what had been a really great night. The service team up front did a wonderful job, but that last interaction left a bad impression. Unfortunately, based on that experience, I wouldn't come back. read more

The Betty is a new vinyl cocktail bar in Austin. It's between 5th and 6th. It's very LA. There are multiple bouncers and celebrates at the entrance. There is a dress code that must be met before being allowed in. Seems every night has a life DJ. The VIP section roped off with bottle service from the "bottle girls" seemed a bit ridiculous given that there were four people inside. The outdoor patio looked really nice and relaxing. And the design on the interior is pretty unforgettable. The Betty also offers steak dinners. This is the perfect place to take your 25 year old CEO boss who just moved here from LA. read more

Recently visited the Betty for cocktails this past weekend in Austin. Originally we were told that there was only bar seating but we ended up getting a table up a couple stairs and it was like the best seat in the house! Although our server was super friendly it took a while for anyone to come to our table to greet us and even longer for us to get our drinks (about 30 min total). The martinis weren't our favorite and cost about $60 for two of them. We ended up leaving after just because we didn't want to wait longer and pay that much, but the inside is really beautiful and it's a very intimate candle lit spot. read more

I had a birthday coming up and was feeling a bit saddened by the fact that I was having to put together my own birthday party and work had prevented me from planning a great event but a referral from a friend to try The Betty solved both problems. Ellie responded to my inquiry about the venue and made me feel comfortable enough to spend my birthday eve with some friends at their lounge. From the moment I arrived staff was warm, and so very professional. Tay and Zalika made my group feel like VIPs and kept the drinks flowing, they contributed to the elevated atmosphere that I was hoping for and the meticulously designed space made for great photos and a "grown and sexy" feel. I enjoyed the mocktails while my guests made their way through the cocktail menu. The asparagus was also old and Mac and cheese was salty. You had no choice of sides it was only Mac and cheese and asparagus. Best part was the steak was $40 for New York strip and $35 for the hanger. Feels like we got scammed. They also make you pay and tip before you even get your food. Drinks were the only good part here but only worth it if you get them half off during happy hour. Otherwise they are 18-21 bucks. Horrible experience read more

On my second visit, my friends joined me later, and we were told that men under 25 weren't allowed in. This policy felt arbitrary, unsettling, and raised concerns about potential discrimination. Had a great dinner across the street at J.Carver and decided to stop in here for a drink. What a mistake. Dude at the door looked at us like we were garbage. Incredibly unwelcoming and rude. Clientele was strange once inside. Seemed like a few women there were escorts based on the level of attractiveness of their male partners. Maybe they were just ugly rich dudes, it's tough to tell sometimes. The enormous stuffed Teddy Bear sitting in a corner was the most unique thing about this place. We ordered 2 cocktails and two beers. Total was $90 bucks. This is for California transplants who are drowning in debt but still want to look like they have something. We all hated this place.
