The cutest restaurant with a gorgeous view. I went at night when the view wasn't visible, but we still sat outside with the heaters and it was too cute. We got the fire roasted beets that were pickled with goat cheese and it was a great and unique dish. The margherita pizza was good just too cheesy. We got the spiced apple upside down cake for dessert and that was my favorite. The caramel flavors with the vanilla ice cream all blended together so well. Spectacular restaurant!! Everything here phenomenal!! Such a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff is very professional and helpful. Started with the pepperoni flatbread. Wow that was absolutely delicious!! The pizza sauce and pepperonis were on another level. The short rib sandwich was elite! The short rib was so soft, tender, and packed with flavor. And the chips were perfectly crispy with an amazing truffle flavor. And since at Pebble Beach I had to wash it down with a refreshing Arnold Palmer. 10/10 highly recommend. Price is WAY overpriced for food quality. Food is lower-mid tier - mussels tasted old and defrosted and expensive (even though fresh Monterey County mussels are just south, and non-local & pizza was tasteless small and still over $30s - they used to be known for the pizzas, which have now shrunk in size to the size of a single dinner plate (versus a real pie of at least 15 inches but price has gone up - so it feels like they're trying to maximize a financial statement rather than improve the overall experience. Airport vibes - you know what I mean?) Service is decent, but you can tell the Pebble Beach Company (the owners) have such money-grubbing / cheap / low quality / high cost / high margin mindset that they have lost the charm, character, and quality which Pebble Beach was known for in the 1980s and 1990s and prior. Now it just feels like cheap resort food with small portions at super high prices dressed up as something more. Bring back Club 19 and the quality that came with it, and cut the prices to less than half the amount. And increase the food sizings if you want to have any respect. Ambiance is okay, it's a bit sterile and stale and the service is too stressed due to Pebble Beach Company management having such a poor culture themselves that is money-grubbing and that clearly influences the energy and stress and low quality nature of the overall Pebble Beach Company food and general experience that now Pebble Beach is known for. A girlfriend once called it a "Cheapened Turtle Bay resort" and also a "resort town" - that's not the Pebble Beach that was made famous by Bing Crosby and others - which was one of high quality and class. None of this money-grubbing, Private Equity-style, Public Company-style, poor standards to merely increase cash flow which you see now. Really sad. That's not what golf courses nor country clubs are meant for. Bring back the class and respect to Pebble Beach already and drop the prices to less than half or a quarter the price. read more

Then the parents put the 3 kids at the bar ruining those people's time. I know this is the parents fault but they maybe should have spoken to the parents. This place was incredible from the food, to the drink, and most importantly the view. The staff was incredible. My fiancée and I arrived a little early for our reservation and when the hostess saw we were celebrating our engagement from the night before she asked if we would like a patio seat instead which we obviously said yes to. She sat us with the most incredible view and they gave us blankets and started the fire. My fiancée ordered the sirloin with mashed potatoes and I got the bolognese pasta. We started with the bread balloon and mac n cheese as well. The bread balloon was so yummy and the mac n cheese was incredible. My fiancée is still raving about her meal and her lavender lemon drop cocktail.. me personally the pasta was a little salty but I don't care because this place was awesome and the staff is incredible. This dinner truly was one of the highlights of our trip and the ONLY place that made us feel special after our engagement. They went above and beyond and even let us choose any dessert we wanted on the house which we chose the s'mores skillet cookie . I can't wait to come back and experience this again , it was amazing . We came here for our first visit on our mini moon to eat in this iconic spot. The view lived up to its reputation, and the fire pits in the tables do a great job at keeping you warm with the ocean breeze. Our meal was fairly pricey, which was to be expected, how ever i don't believe in "you pay for the view". I had seen quite a few videos saying that the food was forgettable, which was partially true. My salad how ever i probably wont forget, since i've never not been able to eat a salad because it was too salty... i could actually see and scrape off the salt. On the menu the salad said it came with a 6 minute egg, and it came with HALF an egg. When the bill is upwards of $200 for a plate of corn, 2 salads, 2 drinks, and 2 cups of soup, it best have an entire egg. My husband got the charred avocado salad and he did enjoy it. In my opinion, with the price of the hotel, the price of the golf course, and the beach space this restaurant occupies, The Bench has a duty to be 5 star quality. read more

Extremely disappointed. We specifically ordered vegan meals, paid $45 for two items, and were served food containing meat. This is not a small mistake -- for vegans, this is a serious issue. On top of that, we had to pay just to enter the establishment, which made the experience even more frustrating. Paying premium prices for food that was misrepresented and not vegan is unacceptable. This felt careless, disrespectful, and honestly disgusting. If you advertise vegan options and offer to us that you can do vegan , they need to actually be vegan. 3 star review belongs to the hostesses. Hostesses are the face of your brand and when they look sour and act rude it tarnishes the experience. My husband's two foursomes ate here after golf and we stoped in to grab something from them. We were there less than 5 minutes when a hostess came over and told the women I was with she was blocking the view from the bar. This was 11/14 we also ate dinner there that night. The hostess again looked like she sucked on a lemon. I thought the food was really good the salmon flatbread was delicious and the scallops I had for dinner were amazing. We started with the falafel and the quinoa salad (can't remember the name) but the falafel stole the show . Main dish reviews ; Tuna nicoise : 4 stars tuna was a little plain. Fried chicken sandwich: 5 tender and tasty (equivalent to Roost in Bozeman MT) Short ribs sandwich:4 stars loved the tenderness, the horseradish on the sandwich made it that more exciting. Loved the kettle chips. Grilled avocado salad with salmon 5 best salmon I've had in a while and we are from the Pacific Northwest and have great restaurants in Portland. read more

Stopped by towards the end of our 17-mile drive adventure for lunch and were greeted by a stunning outdoor seating area overlooking the 18th hole and ocean. Unfortunately, the day's unusual warmth left us seeking shade, so we opted to sit at the bar instead. The playoff game we watched there more than made up for the change! Jonathan provided excellent service, crafting delicious drinks, particularly the Bench Warmer if you like tequila. We indulged in another round of mojitos because they were exceptional. I wasn't super hungry, so I ended up ordering an appetizer - the Crispy Falafel Panzanella. I love falafel and found this dish to be unique & super refreshing and flavorful. My boyfriend ordered the Bench burger and raved about how good it was. The ambiance was delightful, and overall, we had a fantastic experience. I'll definitely return soon! read more

The service and the ambiance at the bench were excellent. While we waited we sat at the bar and the waiter easily transferred our drink tab to the table. We sat at an outside fire pit shared with two other couples but still the space was very comfortable and the views were amazing. We ordered the pepperoni flatbread and the shrimp appetizer. We ended up on the 17 mile drive completely by accident but this was such a happy mistake. The road led us to the pro shop which the nice attendant told us to check the bench as it was pet friendly and had wonderful views. We were in for such a treat! The food & drinks: 10/10 we showed up during the lunch / dinner kitchen change so we were only able to try the small bites. We ordered the charred avocado and shishito peppers. Each were absolutely gorgeous. So flavorful, so yummy! The drinks were wonderful too. Always happy when I see an Albariño offered in a menu. The views, ambiance, and service: 100/10 if you find yourself on the 17 mile drive guys just make the stop here for a cocktail and ask if you can sit outside. You'll have straight views to the ocean and 18th hole at the world renowned Pebble Beach golf resort. You'll be treated beautifully by Jason and the rest of the staff. Don't worry if it's cold every table outside has its own personal fire place right at the table. Please note you cannot access the bench without paying to enter the 17 mile drive which will cost about $12. The pass is yours all day and you can leave and return all day. If you present your entrance receipt at a restaurant they'll reimburse you for the entrance fee. The bench is super pet friendly and my dog was super comfortable with no additional accommodations needed. read more

Fabulous. I had to describe my experience in one word it would be fabulous. The service was amazing, the food was impeccable, and the views are always breathtaking. As you can see from the pictures, we sat outside. You can not reserve a seat outside. You can either show up and hope that they have a free table or what I suggest is to get there right when they open. Ask them for a table outside and they will happily see you there. Even on an overcast day where you can barely see the ocean. It's still a beautiful view. We went and got a bunch of small plates to share. Our server was extremely friendly, and you do not need to be dressed to the nines as you might think. Coming in jeans and a nice shirt is perfectly acceptable. If you have never been, I definitely recommend it. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. read more

As great as the views were, being right next to the coast, I'm sad to say I was pretty disappointed with the food. I got the Tortiglioni Bolognese (33.00): hearty veal & pork sauce and pecorino cheese. I appreciated the firmness of the Tortiglioni, but the entire dish tasted similarly to a TV dinner. The weather was absolutely perfect. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a harvest salad. The chicken sandwich was good and the salad was okay. They should of put more apples, seeds and topping ontop as it only had a few toppings and mostly lettuce. I believe you are paying for the view more than the food but I would come back! read more

Between the mocktail and the lavender lemon drop, I really enjoyed the mocktail. The lemon drop was quite strong, and I don't think it was the drink for me, but it was so pretty! We asked our server what his favorite dessert was and he said he likes the roasted strawberries or the carrot cake, we got the latter. Every part was so so yummy!
