There was a good handful of people in there working on their computers. I got an iced coffee with caramel and a matcha with strawberry. The matcha was had a very good strong flavor. And the coffee had a great strong taste. I really liked the coffee flavor and the flavoring did not overwhelm it at all. I have been wanting to try this place for the longest and I finally did! From the moment I walked in everything was great. I was greeted and the staff were patient with me as I was not sure what to order. Not a lot of seating in the inside but it has a very cozy vibe to it. It was clean and has a pretty big selection of coffee profiles and flavors. They also have pastries and different food items to order. This place is so cute! I absolutely love it. It's small and cozy, but it has a good amount of seating. It even has a little couch loveseat to sit and read a book. I even love the images on the tables. The salmon croissant was such a nice surprise! I was expecting just a plain croissant with slices of salmon, but it came with lettuce, tomato, cream cheese, and a sun-dried tomato paste that was DELICIOUS! I absolutely loved it. The iced latte with cinnamon bun flavoring was good. I definitely plan to come back to this spot. They had a display full of desserts that I want to try. I also really loved the music they played there (Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, etc.). It created such a relaxing environment. The service was nice. They were kind, patient, and friendly. Not a good experience and will probably never go back. My biggest complaint was the coffee I ordered - it was pretty terrible. A good Americano has lots of deep espresso flavor. The one from The Coffee Jar was weak, dull and lacked any real deep coffee flavor. Also, it's never a good sign when you walk into a local coffee shop and don't smell fresh ground coffee beans. Finally, the service and ambiance were FAR less than great and I was NOT impressed. My advice.....save your money and go somewhere else. read more

The eggs were very flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the avocado was fresh. But the real surprise for me was the pancakes -- they were perfectly round, fluffy, and lightly dusted with powdered sugar. This morning I needed a coffee to get me going. So I tried The Bean Jar. This place has a lot going for it. I rarely call a place "cozy", lol, but this place is kinda cozy. It is clean, neat, comfortable, full of little groups visiting with each other, & they are playing awesome music. So the place has a great vibe. I ordered a pistachio latte. It has a great atmosphere and I was able to focus on my work without any distractions. The latte looked and tasted more like iced coffee with some milk in it. It was okay and so was the tequeño. I got the burrata toast w/avocado. This was tasty. The toast was soft but I'm not sure if it's because of the burrata. The sides were toasted though. Since I don't drink coffee, I decided to go with the Chai Latte and smoked and Swiss croissant. The presentation is delightful. Finally a coffee shop right by me in West Miramar! The Bean Jar is a quaint lil spot that offers up the coziest space to study, work, read a book or catch up with a friend. I had the chance to do most of the above on my first visit here. This took over the Subway right by Orient Chef in the Winn Dixie plaza on Dykes Rd. It can be a little hidden as it is on the side. Tucked away, this hidden gem has friendly staff and a great coffee selection. Seating is limited but offers up a great space to get some work done, which is what you'll probably find me doing here. When I came, I wanted matcha but they didn't have it in stock. I did end up getting a latte and told them about my caffeine intolerance to which they accomodated me and gave me a lil less than their usual espresso dosage. They have fun flavors like oreo, which is what I tred. If you're looking for a sweet treat, I'd recommend this. I'm excited to have this spot become a regular for me and get to try their matcha next time it's in stock. read more

The cute couch set up and adorable decorations really feel inviting. The custom serving trays and paper with their brand and logo are a nice touch. Clean bathrooms, and cute homemade wallpaper. The coffee and food I had were both very good. I got the smoked salmon toast, but the thing to write home about was the lemon cake. Wowie I want that again! Rather than the Starbucks that used to be the only option, I will definitely be supporting local and frequenting The Bean Jar more often! read more

It was a pleasant place that seemed study friendly, but they also place boundaries on staying at tables for too long which i understand. They have signs about no computer use on the weekend which i thought was an interesting touch in today's society! I got a vanilla latte, tasted pretty smokey, not sure if that's a good thing(?), i'm not a coffee connoisseur, but i liked it! I also got the avocado toast and it was surprisingly different than what I expected. It had a slight hint of some sweet fragrance or cinnamon? and i liked that the bread held its form and didn't droop and have all the toppings fall off. Cute little small coffee shop with five or six tables and a couch and lounge chair. Very nice coffee shop music where you could take a friend to chat over some delicious cups of Joe. I didn't order any food but I got an iced decaf coffee and my partner got a hot mocha latte. We watched the barista work as we are a bit of coffee snobs and are trying to refine our own home technique. He did excellent work including beautiful latte art. The taste of the mocha latte was the best we've had in the area. It had robust flavor with a very silky smooth mouth feel. They served it with a small amaretto flavored cookie. They also offer a few breakfast items and options to have with your drink.
