The pool area gets cleaned every morning and is a pretty decent size. Granted, we came on memorial weekend, but their was still enough space for my family to sit out by the pool. A quick walk down the little boardwalk they have gave you access to the beach, which if you've never been to St. Agustine, is a beautiful beach. Most options were either sold out or priced at $800+ per night, so we felt incredibly lucky to find availability at Marker 8 Hotel and Marina for $360/night. The hotel was wonderful. The staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming. They greeted us with big smiles, provided a map of the town, and even offered restaurant recommendations. The location, though, was definitely the highlight. The hotel sits right next to the bridge that leads directly into downtown. They even have a private gate that opens onto the walkway, making access incredibly convenient. We loved being able to stay in a quiet, uncrowded area while still being just a short walk (1/2 mile) from all the excitement. Parking was also a positive experience. We arrived around 3:30 p.m., and the lot was mostly empty, allowing us to park right in front of our room. By around 8 p.m., the lot did fill up, so guests arriving later may want to be mindful of that. Our room was very clean, and the king bed was super comfy. Some of the furniture, particularly the bathroom shelving, was a bit dated, but everything was well-maintained and spotless, so we had no complaints. One of our favorite features was the beautiful view from the patio. The sunset from our room was breathtaking! Our room faced the marina, so we loved walking out to the pier to see the boats and watch the sea life in the water. The weather was perfect, so we took full advantage of exploring the marina area. Overall, we loved this hotel and would absolutely return. The location could not have been better for enjoying Nights of Lights.

Check-in is just weird, since management has decided that a kiosk with a video service rep on another continent is the same as in-person help. The kiosk is loud and the service rep unfriendly- but after waiting our turn, we got our keys and moved into our ocean view balcony room. Then we saw that in order to get to the 1-acre "private beach" (FYI: there is no such thing as a private beach in FL, only private access), families were having to carry their children and run across the busy highway between trucks in a sprint to avoid death. No crosswalk, no flashing lights, not even a sign asking cars to be aware. On the other side of the highway, the sand is washed out and uneven sandbags act as a makeshift stairway to the beach. The ironic & defunct wooden stairway to nowhere with a "hotel guests only" sign appears to get more maintenance than the functional beach access. But whatever. We can run across a dangerous highway for a good beach. We went out to explore the city and had a fabulous night, only to came home ready for sleep around 10pm to a room at 80 degrees & extreme humidity. Turns out they turn off your a/c when you're away. I called the front desk but the help was off-location (overseas) and gave me a number for the "regional manager". I immediately called and was sent directly to vm. I told his vm how upset we were. Then we couldn't sleep until the temperature finally got below 75... after 1am. The a/c took forever to recover. He never returned my call. The next day, we had a nice breakfast in the lobby and then hit the beach before exploring more of the city until around 11pm. We returned to the hotel to see people literally running out with their bags warning us about the cockroaches. We just wanted sleep - but our room was 80 degrees again! Again, I called the "front desk" in another country and was given the phone number for the "regional manager". I called and left a nearly identical message from the night before. No response. The next morning, we checked out. The regional manager never has reached out to me. The front desk never followed up. But we did receive an additional $17 charge for a wash cloth that was apparently stained beyond recovery. (It was lipstick. It got on my dress, too. Came out in a regular load of laundry.) You get a small apartment with 2 tvs, oceanfront patio/balcony, and kitchen for the price of an even smaller hotel room that probably wouldn't have any of that. Our unit came stocked with cooking supplies, books, beach chairs and an umbrella. The complex itself is situated on a great beach for families along with a heated pool (which I found clean and uncrowded both times we stayed). Beachers Lodge is also located in a safe area close to activities, stores and restaurants. We had a few minor issues this time around; the family room remote didn't want to work, the pillows were flat and hard, and we could have used a couple more towels. The biggest issue was that we didn't have sheets for the pull out couch and we had a dirty blanket. However, our leasing manager was quick to respond and fix the issue. Most people staying here are young families. And for people on a budget, this is a good deal. It's hard to find beachfront condos at this price in any city in Florida.

This review is for #404…read more I generally don't write too many negative reviews but this place warrants it- big time. Particularly since this condo was rated "gold" by the management company. It really should be below bronze. The pictures are extremely deceptive! The decoration are stated as "Mediterranean" style. In reality, it is a garage sale hodgepodge of old, grimy, falling-apart kiddie furniture that I would more properly categorize as "Early Halloween". The management and cleaning staff are pleasant. The beach is wonderful. The view is fabulous. The "condo" is a disgrace. The grime on everything is just disgusting. My wife and I had to wipe down everything with alcohol. The metal entrance door is thick with gunk. The cabinets look like they were repurposed from someone's garage. The pots and pans are very few and have unhealthy peeling teflon on the frying pans. There is a space between the stove and the counters where food bits have seemingly fallen down into over the years. The bathroom is missing trim and the edges of the drywall are starting to turn moldy. The tile floors are ok, but we were afraid to walk barefoot. There is zero storage space and almost no counter space in either the kitchen or the bathroom. Most importantly, the sliding glass door has a corroded nonfunctional lock. Someone decided that putting a shower curtain rod in the track would fix everything. Well, curtain rods compress without much pressure, right? There is lots of mismatched, hand-painted furniture. The brown pullout sofa is quite putrid looking and we avoided even sitting on it. Who would sleep on such a grimy thing? The king bed mattress is old and needs replacement. It has two very deep "body imprints". Never again.

We booked this place for the night of lights festival this year…read more Location: Pretty good location to downtown. It's about 1.5 miles. They offer a $5 a day shuttle that stop services at 10:00pm. Or you can walk to downtown in about 40 min. I highly recommend walking if you're able as traffic during night of lights is crazy! And you just might get there faster walking. Price: We paid roughly $270 total for two nights. Which considering it was during night of lights that's a very affordable and reasonable cost. No complaints there at all. Room: The room itself was basic. It was clean for the most part. They only offer body wash and hand soap. No shampoo, conditioner or lotion. My boyfriend said he saw a silverfish bug in the shower that grossed him out. But no other bugs seen. Customer service: We had an incident while staying there. This is a dog friendly inn which is nice, however our neighbors left their two dogs yapping non stop in the room while they went out and enjoyed their vacation. My boyfriend was not feeling well and this was becoming a nuisance. We finally snapped and went downstairs to talk with a worker. We spoke with Dustin who reached out to the occupants of the room and management and then after about 30 min the barking ceased. Initially Dustin was somewhat flustered and seemed annoyed ( I understand people have off days). We went back up to our rooms and later that evening Dustin stopped by to make sure that we were having a better experience. Which we thought was nice. Breakfast: Breakfast is included. You'll get eggs, sausage, an assortment of breads/sweets, coffee, yogurt and they had apples one day. Nothing fancy but if you're traveling on a budget and want to cut costs on food it's not bad. Overall 3/5. It's a decent Inn/ motel for the cost. The reason for a lower star rating is simply because we would have liked to know ahead to request to be in a dog free building. Don't get me wrong, we love dogs and have two of our own but the two dogs yapping for hours on end really changed our experience.

The hotel itself was clean, modern and our bed was very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the view from our room and the pool area, which was a nice place to relax! There were several things we really liked about the hotel. The rooms have a contemporary feel, the common areas are attractive and the location is definitely one of the biggest perks. The staff was also friendly and helpful when we brought issues to their attention. That said, there were some frustrations during our stay. Parking is $22 per day plus tax, even though the hotel has its own parking lot. As Marriott Bonvoy cardholders, we feel parking should be waived or at least discounted for members. We also were not allowed to check in even a little early, despite being told that rooms were available. When we got to our room, the blinds were broken. We called maintenance twice to have the issue addressed and eventually we were told they could move us to another room if maintenance couldn't fix as other rooms were available. If another room was available, it was frustrating that we could not have been accommodated with an early check in, even by 30 minutes. Housekeeping was another disappointment. We understand that housekeeping is provided every other day, but when we specifically requested that someone come the following day, they only replaced the towels. The room was not cleaned and the bed was not even made. As Marriott Bonvoy members/cardholders, this was not the level of service we expected. We enjoyed the hotel, especially the location, comfortable bed, cleanliness, views and pool. However, the parking charge, lack of flexibility with early check in, room issue, and limited housekeeping service took away from what could have been an excellent stay. With a little more attention to guest service and member benefits, this hotel could be a much better experience!
