The pictures on the Pierpoint South website show the correct furniture but their pictures must be old as all furniture is old, worn out and almost unbearable to sit in. Kitchen needs work, broken drawers, old & rusty flatware and knives. When you run the water in the kitchen sink, it makes a horrific sound. Downstairs bathroom has a corroded faucet and what appears to be black mold in the air vent. Upstairs guest bathroom has mismatched floor tiles and the shower tile grout is stained from what appears to be mold. The master bathroom has stained tile/ grout in the shower. The mattress was extremely lumpy and uncomfortable, we flipped the mattress to try and help get a better night's sleep but it did not help. The balcony furniture is the cheap plastic stuff that looks pretty disgusting. The sliding glass door to the balcony was absolutely filthy!!! We used water and towels to clean it just so we could enjoy the ocean view. I will definitely not stay in Unit 60 again!

Any Maintenance issues (which have been minimal) have been resolved very quickly and Grounds are immaculate. We've stayed in both the Oceanfront (unit 63, 60) and Oceanview Units (Units 16,34,18). There really is NO BAD VIEW in the entire Complex. The Salt Water Pool is always sparkling. The Complex is one of the closest, if not the closest to the Beach on the Island. The Wednesday Farmers Market right next door in front of the Pier is something that we never miss. They sell everything from Beach Jewelry to fresh Seafood. The Live Band and Food during the Summers in front of the Pier is something that we never miss. Oh and I cannot leave out Rita's Ice Cream and Antonio's Pizza right next door. The BEST surprise came when we went down for the last week of Dec in 2021. The New Year Fireworks off of the Pier Party was fabulous and Pier Point South hired Security to keep the Complex from getting bombarded with non Guests. If you're going to St. Augustine for one to two nights and you are the kind of person that needs a place to sleep, shower, and change for the next thing, it's a good option. We spend little time in the room, aren't looking to break the bank, and prefer a location that is close to the sights and has nearby restaurant options. You walk in the room and to the left is a long counter with a sink and area for plenty of toiletries, a coffee maker on top and a half mini fridge below. There is a wall-mounted hair dryer. To the right is the bathroom with full tub/shower and toilet. So one person can shower while the other is at the sink area. This particular room had two queen beds, a dresser, desk with rolling chair, a separate round table and a second chair. There is a closet with hangers, luggage rack and laundry bag. The television is a flat 32" screen. There isn't an outlet between the queen beds. I should have brought an extension cord. There isn't a USB outlet either. So bring your extension cord, charger and plug. The room could stand to be updated with new carpet. There is a pool, but it's on the small side and the type you'd take a dip and paddle your legs holding onto the side. The room smells a little musty when we enter, but after ten min of air conditioning, that disappears. The hotel is a walk across A1A to O'Steens Restaurant, famed for their fried shrimp and worth it. Be careful crossing! Osprey Tacos is next door to the hotel. A British style pub is also across the street. The Black Fly restaurant is a block or two away. Minus the heat and humidity, one could walk across the Bridge of Lions to the old town tourist area. There are burrows options for bars and restaurants. The hotel offered a continental breakfast with bagels and pastries. We didn't try it bc we had a list of places to try and we were out early each day. The beach is about a ten minute drive. The Alligator Farm, St. Augustine Lighthouse and miniature golf are also less than ten min drive away. The locations is great if you're coming to town for a concert at the St. Augustine Amphitheater or going to the old town area for the Christmas lights and celebration. We are planning another trip in a few months and will likely stay here again. It suited our needs perfectly.

Do not book if you're arriving after 10 PM! They advertise "late check in before 4 am" or even "24…read morehour service". However, that is NOT the case. Stranded at 2 am after paying for a room. No answer on the phone after multiple attempts of calling, hotels.com tried calling as well; no answering the ring doorbell after multiple attempts. The overhead light didn't work. The barstools are broken. The closet door is falling off and everything is stained and grimy and just disgusting. Needless to say I woke up. I'm exhausted. My body is killing me and I checked out. I canceled the rest of my days. I'd rather sleep in my car or just go home.

The room had a television, a small closet space, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. This is a fairly no-frills motel, but it's within a reasonable proximity to the beach and other St. Augustine attractions. The motel itself also has a pool, but I opted to spend time at the beach instead of using it. My only gripes about the motel would be that the air conditioning unit was a bit noisy, but I was exhausted and that didn't stop me from sleeping. The sheets also had some pilling, which freaked me out when I first climbed into bed. Overall, Island Shores Inn gave me a comfortable place to sleep while I was in St. Augustine. I would definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in town.

The mini fridge was so tiny it couldn't accommodate a box for a small pizza. The floor was not carpeted which was odd for a motel so far from the beach. This place is definitely run on a tight budget. When I tried to turn my room key in, the lobby door was locked with a note saying the employee was cleaning rooms. There is a Sleep Inn across the street, and if I ever attend an event at the amphitheater again, I will probably stay there. This was not a terrible stay by any means, but I paid $130 for one night months in advance, and I expected more.
