At 100 acres, it is large and it is definitely diverse. There are three lighted softball fields and one little league field. They have four covered shelters (two large, two smaller), there are a bunch of equestrian facilities (don't ask me how any of that works) with a show ring and 124 horse stalls. Playground, restrooms, amphitheater, three stocked lacks, a walking track, jogging trails and six lighted tennis courts. There was some sort of baseball competition going on when I stopped by today. One of the fields was in use by a girls softball team and there was a pretty big crowd. To access that area, there was a $5 parking charge but the rest of the park is free. Neat space! Originally built in the 1950s, the park was completely rebuilt in the 1970s in hopes of attracting a minor league team. It is a natural grass field. The park is of course closed during the pandemic (August 2020) but the sign out front says "K for the 2020 Grizzlies." A 'K' is a strikeout. Big parking lot and there are some other baseball fields across it where today, two folks were doing some batting practice. [Review 13738 overall, 1058 of 2020, number 2515 in North Carolina.]

The only downside was the rain, but it eventually stopped to reveal a nice double rainbow. Looks like the ballpark is undergoing some construction, but it's your typical ball field. Most of the bleachers are behind home plate. Didn't seem like there was a bad seat in the house. I hear that a Grizzlies game is fun to catch here and there are unique menu options... like nachos served in an inverted trash-can lid. It's just what it sounds like, but the lid (hopefully was not used as a trash lid in it's previous life) is lined with wax paper.... all the nacho goodness is dumped in the center and it comes with 2 krispy kreme donuts. The concept seems crazy, but people seemed to enjoy the hell out of them.

(From November 2025)…read more I can't remember how I found this but as I'm driving in Charlotte, my dad and I stopped here to check it out. This is one of the most beautiful parks I've had the pleasure of visiting. There are beautiful views, playgrounds and lawn space for children's play, plenty of parking, trails for walking/bike riding, several bridges, and large trees to compliment the fields. The park is well-kept as everyone here ensures cleanliness and top maintenance. As my dad and I sat down on the bench and soaked in our surroundings, we observed a plethora of activity which included some people flying drones, kids competing in the playground's obstacle course, elderly folks walking, dogs running amok, people racing toy cars, and a few people cycling. The positive energy and vibes were radiant. I'm glad we stopped by here. Definitely worth a visit in Charlotte!

We thought this park looked pretty cool, so we drove over, parked on the road and walked around. It was a nice day and lots of other people were out. All in all, a lovely outdoor space in Charlotte.
