I initially started with their highest membership to have access to tanning and because I go back home to CA from time to time, figured I could use it while I travel, too! The Crunch by my old home in CA is the one of few locations I guess that does not honor this membership I had and had to pay out of pocket (not a ding against this location) so when I got back to NC I downgraded my membership to the basic plan (I also have a membership to Palm Beach Tan so I didnt need their tanning - this location only had stand up beds?). There was a charge to downgrade my membership which was odd but not worried about it.. anyways - they have squat racks that LINE the back wall of the gym, maybe a trillion treadmills, stairmasters and ellipticals which makes getting on one during the 5PM after work rush never an issue! On top of the stairmaster, you can overlook the sea of machines! Some OG machines and new ones that will count your reps! Honestly a huge plus to have more than one or two of a machine.. This location has two SEPARATE rooms for cycling and group classes IN ADDITION to the HIIT/personal-group training designated area! The layout is amazing and feels like this location has literally everything you need and more - aside from a reverse hyper lol! And if this all hasn't sold it for you already... the locker rooms have saunas saunas are CLEAN and odorless which I personally think it amazing. Womens locker room have a TON of lockers of different sizes (bring your own lock - this isnt Lifetime Fitness) and changing rooms and showers! And not to mention the giant selfie mirror!! I know its not what its intended use is, but Id be lying if I said thats not its designated purpose is. Always so happy with this location!! Was told I have to pay a late fee. No other charges mentioned. Also, said I would be able to use the gym till the end of the month. June 24th came around and they charged me a monthly fee. I call them. And they cancelled the membership again, although you can't cancel over the phone. She said she will request a refund for the charges. I had my bank reverse because it wasn't authorized. It's August 14th, and I was charged the monthly fee + a late fee. My account still shows active. I call them. A girl named CeCe (who conveniently says she's a manager) says your account will be closed 30 days after your last payment. My last payment was the beginning of June, the late fee. More than 30 days ago. At this point I can see they are trying to keep my account open and clearly not honor a 2 time cancellation. This is the worst gym I've been apart of.

In 4 months, I lost 5 1/2 inches in my waist, lost 2 inches in my hips, gained an inch in my arms and 1/2 in my legs and chest, and lost almost 10 pounds. I also can lift a lot heavier than when I started. The personal trainers are very friendly and professional as well as all of the staff. There is a good variety of equipment and the gym is always clean. Also, I have been taking a lot of the classes and the instructors have been great. The classes are so much fun! Everyone is just so nice and I always am excited to go there. I look forward to continuing to work with my awesome personal trainer Raphael Paz (he also goes by Raph) and see even more gains.

I literally had to drive 1.5 hours to get to this location just to cancel and was met with additional fees. All around highly do not recommend this gym unless you don't have other options. Be careful of the cancellation when you do move because they will not hesitate to steal your money.

I like a wide variety of dumbbells and weight lifting machines, and they had everything I needed. The dumbbells go up to 150, there are plenty of benches, racks, and barbells, and hammer strength gear abound. The equipment was also new, clean, and organized. I had great workouts here. In addition, the gym as a whole was quite clean and well-kept, including the men's locker room. No bad odors at all. I would recommend this gym and will be back next time I'm in the area.

Also this is meant to provide constructive feedback in hopes that management/area director and leadership at Lifetime read this- finally these are constant grievances of mine, others on this feed and I have been a member for more than 3 years. Additionally, I've experienced the brand new top shelf Lifetime in Cary NC...world of difference in service, equipment (of course new) , AND true spa like feel in the men's locker room...down to lockers have 'bumpers' on them so when they are shut they are quiet. 1. NOISE! Men's spa area is so loud I have to wear airbuds to escape the constant yammering of others in the steam and sauna. 2. Tired Equipment and in consistent amenities- I joined for the quality of equipment and mainly access to steam and dry sauna- Equipment is worn out...bikes, cable machines, benches, accessories for gym equipment in general need replacement. Machines sit dormant waiting for repair often...and Steam room is constantly inconsistent and temperatures in dry sauna are below recommended temps. Did I also mention how LOUD it is in the 'Quiet Area.' 3. Towel service is 1 STAR....and unacceptable. Last night and many days/nights the shelves in the locker area are bare with NO TOWELS....I literally had to walk the locker room to find a clean towel to dry off with. 4. Family Friendly. YES! It should be...but now that school/college is on summer break the gym experience is fraught with kids being kids.. from locker room to gym floors...absolute chaos... 5. Showers- The entire shower area is a mess a lot of the time, but especially last night....walk into a shower and someone left towels inside stall....No attendants cleaning up or restocking towels...counters full of water, etc. NOT A PREMIUM EXPERIENCE! I truly enjoy investing in my health and consider Lifetime a splurge in my budget....BUT I continually leave shaking my head at the level of service...quality...and inconsistency....even the 'simple things' from a staff person, like Have a good night...hope you had a nice workout. It would be nice to have persons on the floor assisting 'newbies' with workout tips or offering assistance in using the equipment.

However, I have noticed that the weights on many of the machines do not seem accurate. I work out regularly at the Belmont and Mt. Holly locations, and the resistance on the machines here feels very different. The weight settings don't seem to match what is listed, making it difficult to track workouts consistently. I hate leaving a negative review because I appreciate the upgrades, but I hope management checks and calibrates the machines. If the weights aren't accurate, the new equipment isn't really an improvement.
