I have been here so many times! From office parties, to bar league yoga, I've always had a great time. The banquet space on the second floor is very eclectic and cute. The entire space is rustic, and decorated with twinkle lights and antiques. I've been coming every Wednesday for bar league yoga, and every time is a treat! The space is warm and inviting. I often stop down at the bar and restaurant after yoga, and the experience is just as good downstairs. The bar has a plethora of drinks and cocktails - I had a vodka slushie that was absolutely delightful! I also had a burger that was to die for - juicy, full of bacon, and soooo good. Had a very enjoyable time at Lakeward Spirits for dinner. It started with a very personable hostess and concluded with a delicious and satisfying meal. We start off with a couple of cocktails, my partner and I. I had the South Buffalo Slam, while they got a "hot" cocktail called the Ultra Violet Tipple (it changed colors!) Both cocktails were very good. For dinner, I got the barrel factory burger, which was a half pound burger of ground short rub and brisket and my guest had the barrel factory pork chop, which looked so delicious I was jealous that I didn't get it. We both really enjoyed what we had with the pork chop being very yummy and a real standout. We finished things off with a shared desert of the Pot Au Chocolat, which was a mousse-like decadence served in a canning jar. First time back to the Barrel Factory in over 2 years. Not sure why we wanted so long. Well, maybe Covid was part of the reason! We attended a music trivia bingo party with a couple of friends. Barrell Factory is a nice setting for events. The party was upstairs. The bar served quite a few of their in-house brewed beers. I tried a couple of the IPAs but unfortunately don't remember what they were. Both were good. They had a small menu from which we ordered a reuben sandwich which came with fries and the deep fried banana pepper dumplings. My husband said the reuben was excellent. He hates when the bread is soggy, which wasn't the case here. Dumplings were good also, tasted just like stuffed banana peppers. Great atmosphere, good food and drinks, fun event, and great company. What. An. Amazing. Night. This was our pick for our weekly date night, and we could not have been more impressed, or had a nicer time out. Both of us expected a rustic themed, enjoyable evening but neither of us expected to have one of the best meals we've had in ages. This was our first time here, and it certainly won't be our last. The atmosphere is inviting and warm, and the charm of the industrial factory mixed with hidden side street gem hit you to your core. We dined here in February and we're lucky enough to enjoy their "Valentines" menu which runs all February long. Probably the best deal you'll see all year we got bread and butter, 2x drinks (cocktails, specialty cocktails, beer or wine), 2x soup or salad, 2x filet (or chicken, salmon, lasagna), and 2x dessert (chocolate cake, creme brûlée, apple egg rolls, or another chocolate dish) all for $75!! I couldn't believe it, and we had to ask the server twice to make sure we were dreaming. Our food was first class start to finish. The salads were decorative, light and refreshing but still quite filling. The steaks were cooked exactly as ordered, and had a great grill char to them which paired perfect with the spice blend- don't get me started on the demiglaze which I happily would have drown in. Dessert was sweet and tasty, and we ate every last crumb. Our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, and we were even lucky enough to dine there on a night the restaurant was filming footage for their website so we got to see the behind the scenes drone flying around the dining room, and got to meet the owner(s) as well. Went to The Barrel Factory for dinner today because they have Fish Fry's ever day through lent, also saw they had a fun wing flavor this week...garlic afredo. I had a cider and Steve had a beer flight and liked everything on it. Had a basket of bread brought to the table the butter was hard as a rock and if possible the bread was even harder. Totally inedible. Had 20 wings for $13.50 (apparently today was half price wings .67 each) got the garlic alfredo which was delicious and classic med which had a kick to them. The blue cheese was scrumptious as well only served with celery though no carrots :( The wings were huge and piping hot! The fish fry was good..I would have like it crispy-er/more batter. Came with coleslaw, crack fries (yum), a red pepper couscous which I loved other two people at the table not so much so I took theirs to go, and a gin and tonic tartar which was delicious! There are a couple more menu items I want to try so would like to go back and definitely try the French onion soup! Also next time I'm going to get the craft cocktail flight I somehow missed it on the menu and absolutely want to try it! Food and drinks were great but the service wasn't the best. We were charged for an extra drink, two of the same drink came out and were visually different amounts, and the second round of drinks took a long time to arrive despite it not being a busy evening. A side order of French fries didn't arrive until we were mostly done eating. This place has a lot of potential but service will need to improve. read more

My husband and I both had an incredible experience at this restaurant. Our server was wonderful! The food took a reasonable amount of time to come out. The place itself was beautiful and rustic. Let me start off by saying I have been here before but this is my first time there to eat. The venue is very cool and funky. We had a 5:15 reservation for dinner as we were attending the music bingo event upstairs at 7. It took over an hour to get our food! That is totally unacceptable for a restaurant that only takes reservations so they know how many people they are expecting and should plan accordingly. Our server Terrance was wonderful given the situation he was put in by the kitchen staff. That being said, I will say that the restaurant manager was professional and comped our tables check and gave us drink chips to take upstairs with us and assured us there was going to be some "retraining" of the kitchen staff. This spoke very highly of their willingness to make things right and I was impressed. I will give them another try in the future. read more

If you want a Barrel in which you can go over the Falls - as one does - this is where they'll manufacture it for you. This is the perfect place to host events, including the big ones for Yelp, and they've had a number of great events up here. The last one left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth or maybe that was just the alcoholic products available here. One time I left my computer in here, sitting there for like an hour until I realized it was here and then drove all the way back - and found it sitting exactly where I left it. So thanks to all of the patron and employees for being honest and I highly recommend this place which has a lot of friendly people working here. read more

One of my favorite venues for just about everything.... ample parking (unlike downtown Buffalo) great food (I got an outstanding Popeye pizza, spinach and cheese of course) and drinks ( I like their beer, mules, and boozy slushees) and the space upstairs is perfect for a wedding or 80s music bingo (which I attended this past Saturday night) . Even our Buffalo Yelp Elite Awards for 2019 were held here. The Barrel Factory will see more of me in the future and I would not hesitate to take out of town guests for a fun night here as well. read more

Updating my review after I got a chance to revisit this place for my birthday with a handful of friends on Friday night. The bartender was great and super friendly and told us to wander wherever we wanted. We always go up to their hidden balcony because its such a great spot to hang out and many people don't know about it. This review is based on my experience in the upstairs hall for their biweekly music bingo event. The hosts were lovely, Very welcoming, and Very entertaining. The ambiance Is so inviting and beautiful inside this hall. The lighting is beautiful and I could see weddings being held in this venue easily. Expect to pay a good amount for alcoholic beverages but they supply water and coffee at no charge. This was an enjoyable time! Great place down near the river for an evening out. I do not have the food but the menu was mainly bar food in the upstairs area. This review is not on the downstairs restaurant which I do want to try soon. read more

I stopped here yesterday with friends after participating with them in the Shamrock Run. It wasn't incredibly busy yet so I was able to snag a table. (It was much busier a half hour later.) Any alcohol had to be ordered at the bar but there was a young guy coming around to take food ordered. I ordered the Shamrock Platter. It had three egg rolls, which had roast beef in them and the egg rolls were salted on the outside to give you that beef on weck experience. The platter also had four dumplings and two pretzel bites. The four dumplings were delicious. I think they had corned beef in them. The pretzel bites were on long sticks and there were about eight on each. They came with two different dipping sauces. One was horse radish based. I shared my meal with my friends. They ordered pretzel bites, corned beef, and Reubens. It seem pretty pricy but we were all happy with our drinks and food. (I was here twice before. Once for a murder mystery dinner with friends upstairs in their large banquet room and once for my first Yelpies event. Both were fun times and the service was great. I plan on coming here in a few weeks to attend the Buffalo Music Bingo event led by Joel Dombrowski who owns the Buffalo Double Decker Bus and does murder mystery tours puts that on and I'm excited to partake in that at the Barrel Factory.) read more

Beautiful rustic themed space. They have a small bar downstairs where they have a good 8 or so specialty cocktails made with the liquors they sell across the bar. It gets pretty loud in here because the sound bounces off the walls. Plenty of seating and I love that they have a ton of board games to choose from if you want to just sit at one of the hightops with a beer in hand and play some games with friends. There is a large room upstairs used for private parties. It's a beautiful setup and I would consider having a small wedding or work holiday party there! read more

Great place to just kick it, I had a cocktail & apple-cider beer. The barrel factory, also has a kombucha shop, which has many flavors to choose from & has a pizza shop, which if you sit at the bar you can order as well. Also there is a nice cozy area to sit by a fireplace in case your cold. I definitely would come here again. read more

I attended the Yelpies here. I didn't have any of The Barrel Factory food, due to outside catering, but I did have some of the drinks. I love when someone uses an old factory and keeps the charm and guts it use to have for the décor. The Barrel Factory still has all the brick and steel like walls while adding new updates to keep it habitable. They have a space inside for Lakeward Spirits/Pressure Drop Brewing, Snowy Owl Kombucha, and Bar Cultivar, as well as Elevator Alley Kayaks. Each place has its own area in an open area concept. At the event I was upstairs in the event center. It has a bridge connecting two different areas. It consists of woodwork throughout. They had their specialty cocktail The Wild Cuke for us to try. It has cucumber, lavender, gin and simple fresh lemon. All you could taste was the lavender. I loved the idea of mixing things you wouldn't think to mix together. After the event, my friend and I had a drink at the Bar Cultivar. They made her a Hot Toddy which she loved and I had Citra Screamer from Pressure Drop Brewing. I usually do not like beer with any type of fruity flavor, but this one was delicious. The closest thing to mainstream I can think of would be Blue Moon or Magic Hat #9. This is so much better than those! It is smooth and you only have a hint of the citrus as an aftertaste. I look forward to coming here again and trying more drinks and the food they offer. read more

Went for dinner. Despite the dining area being almost completely empty, they told us that they couldn't seat us fr 35 minutes because they were preparing food for a wedding. Decided to get a drink at the bar while we waited. There were 2 bartenders. Our bartender made 1 drink for us, but then the other bartender asked her to make drinks for HIS order before she was able to finish our second drink. It literally took 20 mins to get our drinks. When it was finally time to get seated, we got seated at the same time as 2 other families. Both families got waited on and served, and they just kept walking past our table. No one ever stopped to take our order. We eventually walked out. Definitely won't be back. read more

This is a great multi used space with distilleries, food, games, and good company. I didn't see a separate page for pressure drop brewery and I couldn't let them go without a review. I love a good cider, so when I found out there was a place with cider flights I had to try them out. You get 3 for $10 which is a good deal because you get a nice amount in each glass. They also come with oyster crackers which is a plus in my book. The bartenders were nice and attentive. They had live music and a nice seating area. Upstairs is a food spot you can order things like mac and cheese or a burger and also, bring it back while you enjoy the live bands and your favorite drink. Also upstairs were pinball machines and board games; along with another distillery that specializes in vodka, gin, and rum. This is an overall nice location with a great space to host events or even a wedding party. I'm so glad I stumbled upon it because I will definitely be back! read more

The chicken cordon buffalo was good also. The hand cut fries were cut very thin & they were very good. We had never been there before & decided to stop in for a late night snack & a drink. The ambiance was very cozy & our waitress was very attentive. We tried the beef on weck egg rolls which were delicious, warm & crispy on the outside the beef was tender & served with a side of creamy horseradish sauce for dipping. The other appetizer we chose was the Buffalo Cauliflower Bites which were awe, but a bit on the hot side & served with blue cheese dip. We had a couple of nice cold Modelo beers with it. Next stop the Oval Office! All aboard!! I will start off by saying my boyfriend works overnights and we don't get to go out to dinner or do date nights often so I premade these reservations as preferred on restaurants website. When we arrived the restaurant was empty on a Saturday evening (first red flag) . We were promptly sat at the top of a main staircase with waiters and customers constantly walking and squeezing past us. We were given waters and drink orders taken... we got our drinks and tasted awful.. YUCK! (second red flag). We ordered our food with higher hopes, but to no avail that was even worse. My pasta was undercooked and Luke warm, with freeze burnt meatballs that were cold as well and my boyfriends burger was SERVED RAW! No one wants that raw! I showed the staff and they took it off the bill but that didn't help him on our way home. We were trying to get home before he got violently ill in my car. Firstly, the area is questionable , parking is crap a nasty gravel , tire puncturing garbage in gravel. The interior motif is great but disjointed with the many levels , it's not ideal for elderly or disabled way too many steps. The drinks we had were very good , you can tell that's their shining star. I can't fault the alcohol as it was very good. The "apps" or small plates as all hip new restaurants are referring to them to charge 15% more. They were ok we had the barrel rolls , little greasy and slightly flavorless. Along with the artichoke dish agisn a bit lifeless. Prices were not great for the quality. I can't see them having a seasoned chef passing what the servers exclaimed as excellent food. The "entrees" or large plates , again with the change in terminology, they were over priced over sold to me and my guest. Everything was either US foods frozen bagged products or lack lustered product from a uninspired so-called chef , I'd say a short order cook is more likely . A person not getting paid enough to care or has little experience. Waitress was mostly uniformed of the menu she didn't know the menu or the soup of the day . Basically soup was SALT in a bowl , totally inedible . I did tell the waitress about the soup foolishly before receiving my entrees. I asked if the cheesesteaks had a sauce , so she tells me the cheese steak has a special sauce which i was assuming was bodily fluid as there wasnt any special sauce just salty cheese and barely an onion in a crappy Costanzos roll. we were so into enjoying this place. One thing I'll note is service sucks, we sat down waiting for brunch to end, so we sat near the bar , we listened to two people talking obnoxiously of what sounded like times past at an event where they were working together. So we waited and finally got a reaction from our presence. It wasn't a waitress, but the bartender saying "you wanna drink" Kind of a standoffish attitude . It was off-putting. So overall, it wasn't a great afternoon. we spent about $150 with gratuity, and we were grateful, so we shouldn't have left a tip. I won't be back even for a drink . Place needs better food prep and better management. Some better decor, better parking . If you're into slumming it and over oaying along with employees with no interest in being in a service industry, then by all means, go to Barrel factory . read more
