Amazing!!! Excellent drinks. Excellent service and most importantly excellent music playlist. This was the cutest bar and we can't wait until the summer to sit outside and fill up on oysters on their bbq. The bartender gave us a great recommendation for some late night oysters while we were there and he was super friendly. What a great spot! This bar was amazing. The staff there were so welcoming and so kind and even went out of their way to return our lost wallet. Overall I can't rave enough about this bar. The cocktails were creative and tasty. The ambiance was likewise fantastic. This is surely one of the best, if not THE best bar on Orcas Island. We liked it so much we went back two nights in a row. We spent the weekend on Orcas and stopped in The Barnacle for drinks and appetizers. What an experience this was. This place is a gem. My family and I found this place on a Sunday before catching a ferry. Fun the whole family! Delicious cocktails and bites and my son had a blast exploring the detail in the design of the place. Plus great mocktails. I think he had a Sherly Temple that is now is favorite. This place is awesome, a bright spot in East Sound on the amazingly beautiful island of Orcas. Mike and Tara's staff are incredible: (The former service member from Las Vegas, and our Singing (he didn't though) mixologist from New York via Seattle). This place became our spot for the fun three days we had on the island. Good whiskey, great atmosphere and great people, this jaded couple from DC was happy to spend time in the nicer Washington and this establishment affirmed our love of the west coast and the state. Flawless. Just a really candid, well executed, classy place for a cocktail. These guys are the real deal, and you can sense it from the moment you step foot inside. The thing that's nice about Orcas Island (and this especially true at The Barnacle) is though everything is executed just as well as you would expect in some elite places in big cities, you get all of that quality with none of the extra pretense on Orcas. It makes for a really charming, authentic, memorable experience. I really couldn't help but think of coming back with my spouse or some friends and having a really fun night here. I'm 7 months pregnant and plenty of mocktails out there suck. I told the bartender what I was into and he crafted the most magnificent and plentiful and flavorful and not cloyingly sweet mocktail and it was glorious and I can't tell you how rare this is. read more

Also, we ordered the meat and cheese platter that was delightful and could be shared easily. While it does have limited seating, would strongly suggest stopping in for a creative cocktail. read more

Simple, classic cheese and meat boards done island style (smoked salmon, herring, pickle stuff). Can't wait to check in here during the dark days of fall and winter. This bar is the best! I think we'll move in. My husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary with amazing cocktails and the cheese plate. The owner, Tara was awesome and made us feel really special. The bar itself is really cute but it's all about the drinks. I had a ginger rhubarb cocktail that was so good that I had two. This place has the best craft cocktails. My wife and I were on Orcas for a long weekend and went to the Barnacle all three nights we were there. The bartenders are so friendly and talented and besides the drinks and atmosphere being spot on, they have small appetizer platters that are both tasty and unique. We will definitely be recommending this to friends as well as going to go back as soon as we can! read more

We stopped in the somewhat small Barnacle for drinks and an appetizer before our dinner reservation elsewhere. The drinks were good and the serving staff was great. In fact, one of our party of four asked for a navy grog requiring the server/bartender to research it. No problem! We enjoyed a Mediterranean selection for our appetizer which included hummus, olives, nuts, and cheese. Delicious! I came for cocktails here with my husband on our first anniversary, very classy, smelled amazing when we walked in, an oil diffuser I think. We sat at the bar, our bartender was warm and welcoming, actually downright friendly, great personality! Watching him work was like watching an artist work, he swayed to the cool beats that were playing as he worked, at ease and appeared to enjoy his job, very refreshing! The drinks were pure works of art in taste and in presentation, ingredients like cilantro- (which I never would have guessed would work in a drink) deliciously surprising; I really enjoyed watching him make them, the flavors were amazing and surprising every time!!
