This place has a great vibe, servers are very friendly. The food is good, a bit pricey . I visited on a Saturday night and the restaurant was lively and fun. I recommend checking this place out. Get the chocolate cake !!

Didn't get a chance to try this place out yet. But the location was lovely and close to the water. Prices looked reasonable for an island.

Steamers, wedge salad, bread, crispy green beans, arugula martini.

Excellent experience! Beautiful views, great food and fun drinks! Sit on the patio to enjoy the sunset and sip an arugula martini, you won't regret it! Service was top-notch!

Superb hospitality and service. Not to mention superb quality and quantities of fresh ingredients for a very fine dining experience. And of course, the coastal views are quite nice, especially during sunsets.

Incredible party last night hosted by Haven for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary! Mariah and JK put together a truly memorable menu - especially the panko-crusted miso ginger halibut which was so delicious. Ooh and the oysters to start? And the dark chocolate gateau - oof so delicious. Also the cocktails! I loved my spicy mezcalita but if I had known how tasty the arugula martinis were! I might have made a different choice! Kudos to the Haven team for making this night so very special.

Poor experience. We had a reservation here (you had to put a deposit down for each person in order to make a reservation) directly after my engagement and when we arrived nothing was ready. We had to wait awhile for the table and even once that was ready there was no champagne waiting for us as my fiancé had requested since this was supposed to be the celebration. After ordering the food it took a very long time to come out and the chicken was dry. Once they brought our food they did not come back to check on us for a very long time. We completed our meal, paid and were leaving when they stopped us on the way out and let us know they had forgotten to charge us for more items so we had to wait while they re did our bill. Overall a bad experience for a dinner that was supposed to complete one of the most special nights of our lives. I would not recommend.

We had the most incredible meal from Haven during our short trip to Lopez! They're currently open for takeout only on select days. Order early! We ordered around 4:30 or so and weren't able to pick up until around 7:45ish. This place is definitely worth giving some extra forethought to! In non-covid times, it looks like they have incredible views from their dining room, which we hope to enjoy sometime in the future. Instead, we took our food to the park across the street so we could eat and watch the sunset. We got the Gamboni Linguine and The Mushroom pizza to share. Both were incredible and loaded with flavor! We were in culinary heaven. To drink, I got the spicy mezcalita (I've been loving a spicy marg lately and this one did not disappoint) and my husband got the maple rosemary bourbon sour, which he also enjoyed. We ate and drank every last bite/sip despite how full we were because of how ridiculously delicious it was. Yum! I love that Lopez is home to this gem. We can't wait to come back one day.

Linguine with prawns-sO flavorful and filling.

Our party of three visited for lunch at noon on a Thursday. Since we had a reservation, we were seated immediately at a lovely table right by the window. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were incredibly courteous and friendly throughout our meal. We initially thought about starting with some small plates, but we were so eager for seafood that we jumped straight into the entrees. We weren't disappointed: Bouillabaisse: This was our first time trying this dish, and it was the highlight for us. It was incredibly flavorful--exactly what we were craving. Spicy Prawn Mac and Cheese: It definitely lived up to its name! It wasn't "blow-your-head-off" hot, but it had a perfect, noticeable kick that really elevated the dish. Blackened Cod Tacos: These were fantastic. The cod was perfectly prepared and worked so well with the rest of the taco ingredients. We also enjoyed a couple of non-alcoholic drinks that hit the spot, though I'll admit that since I'm writing this a couple of weeks later, I forgot to snag photos or the specific names of the drinks! They also have a really nice patio area if you prefer dining outdoors. Whether you're a seafood lover or just looking for a great meal with a view, this place is a must-visit!

For the nature of the restaurant, we had hoped for our waitress to be more friendly and genuine. However, it felt like they just wanted to fulfill our order and be done. I ordered the South Sound Clams and Snapper Sandwich. Bathing in an umami-packed and rich Thai curry broth, the clams were tender and fresh with a bit of brine. Very good and shareable with one other person. The snapper sandwich wowed me! The bright escovitch and creamy avocado paired wonderfully with the snapper. Every bite was delightful. The house-made potato chips, however, were disappointing. They were thin, not crispy, and sticking to my teeth. If you can, substitute for fries or salad. Despite our subpar service, the delicious, well-priced food and beautiful scenery still make this the perfect date spot.

The ambiance is cozy and warm, feeling like you are invited to dinner at your friends home, if your friend also happens to have an exceptional wine cellar, a farm, and is a wonderful chef. The way Duck Soup executes farm to table with such beautiful presentation is really a treat and the combination of textures and flavors was a journey that is worth a trip to San Juan Island alone. We had wonderful service and we were so grateful for recommendations on how to navigate through the menu! We started with the Spiced Carrots - they were incredibly paired with a salad, cracker, and cheese combo - perfection. For the main course we split the scallops and the filet. Scallops were served with fresh fingerling potatoes and this fresh, citrus/herb forward sauce that was so bright and refreshing (we are still talking about it). The filet was cooked great and served with a Demi glacé that was also just so perfect. the pomme puree was also flavorful and had a lot of amazing flavor on its own! Thank you Duck Soup for making our Anniversary memorable - we can't wait to visit again and again.

Tucked in an isolated, forested area 10 minutes away from the downtown area, the restaurant was a little lodge building you had to drive to on a dark road. Was it worth the trip? Definitely! We were greeted by the servers right away and were seated right next to the wine bottle area. The interior of Duck Soup had a really cozy and warm ambiance to it; it felt like the ideal place for couples and families. We were first served bread with anchovy pate, which, as a bread enthusiast, is something I've never had before. This is something I certainly want to add to my food circle. Our main dishes were pretty good! My girlfriend got the House-Made Tagliatelle Pasta, and I got the Duck Cassoulet. Personally, I like the pasta more than my dish because my duck dish was mostly beans. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of the beans, the quality of the roasted duck was really good. Thank you to the Duck Soup staff for having us! This is worth a try if you're planning a Friday Harbor trip.

I chose the one called "Healthy Start" because when I travel I'd like to have some veggies or fruit on a daily basis to keep a good bowel movement iykyk. Honestly, I was kind of disappointed with the fruit I got. The strawberries were sour, the cantaloupe looked like a 38 year single dad had just pulled an all nighter and then headed for an 8 hour shift, and the pineapple was ok. The over easy eggs were good. They were actually eggy in a good way. You know how sometimes you have an egg and it literally doesn't taste like anything? That was not the case here. The bacon was the best, it was thick-cut yet crispy. And the sourdough was sourdoughing. My partner had the huevos on our first day, he said it was okay. On the second day, I had oatmeal. I don't know why, but when I read the menu, the oatmeal sounded so much exciting. But when I actually got it, it looked kind of boring, just like the one I make at home. It was good and did the work though. My partner had the "today's special," velvet cake toast. He said it was too chocolatey and the portion wasn't that big for the price. I had one bite, and honestly, I was fine with the chocolatey taste. So if you're a chocolate fan, you might want to try it, otherwise skip it. I guess if I had ordered my usual two egg breakfast, it would probably have been great.
