Came in to try out a new work out studio this past weekend. I primarily do cardio and dumbbell training for strength, so barre is definitely a new experience! I was impressed by how helpful the instructor staff was in making hands-on adjustments. They went by the room to correct your posture very frequently. The instructors also help beginners (ie me!) set up and guide us along when we look lost. They also put in a lot of effort to knowing your name at the start of class so when they call out adjustments from the room, you know it's you! It feels like they have known you for so much longer than the class period! Definitely felt the burn and the shakes during the class. One thing to note is that they do not check vaccination status at this location, but masks are required. They also have wipes as well to sanitize your equipment. The studio space is fairly small, and it is carpeted. The class size is fairly large (I couldn't see the mirror most of the times). Lots of windows that air out the space and provides ample lighting. Free parking at any of the 90 min lots in Old Town.

Decent. But there is a reason people are not sweating a lick. They don't want sweaty floors so you get a light workout. Decisions decisions!

I've been a long time member of Corepower so I've had my fair share of hot yoga, and it makes me appreciate the way that hot 8 operates - they have multiple types of classes - I tried Strength, Yin, Sculpt, and they're all fantastic. The membership feels so worth it because of the variety of classes and the multiple rooms/times available. I will definitely be returning. Shout out to the front desk staff - they helped me solve issues with my booking process (my fault) and were so kind/patient when exposing the different classes to me. Oh and shoutout to Allison Chiang - the Strength instructor. She brought the energy and spent time on form correction. So key! Finally - there's free parking with validation in the building! Makes it so easy to commit to the practice.

My favorite class at the moment is Yin, which is a restorative deep fascia release class. (I've had some injuries unrelated to yoga, so I need something more restorative.) Prior to my injury I was taking the Barre classes for 5 to 7 days a week and it changed my life for the best. I am very much looking forward to taking the new Strength classes once I'm feeling up for it. I recommend Mia and Damara for Barre. I recommend Jaz, Shanai (who is also an excellent barre teacher too), and Rachel for Yin. Jaz teaches extra special Yin class with tennis balls that help students stretch into their fascia even more deeply, and is better than any massage I've ever had! With my injury, I'm not sure that I would have continued with my annual executive membership if Jaz were not teaching Yin. Her classes have been a godsend. Even when I'm healed I will continue taking her classes! All the teachers are quite good; I just have my favorites based on personality and instruction style. You are sure to find someone who will exceed your needs! The three reasons that I decided not to give the studio five stars are: 1. they've been running out of the towels that I get with my particular membership. 2. there are some rude students who interrupt important times of instruction, especially the Shavasana, which is critical to closing out a successful yoga practice. 3. The showers can sometimes be a little slimy, which is pretty gross. This was not the case when I first started taking classes almost 2 years ago.

So believe me when I say body dada is worth switching over to even if just for a little while to try it. It's more modest but has heart, artistry and a unique happy place feel that I've never seen - think pink, pink lights! All the instructors are or were former dancers ranging from ballet to modern to pop - artists in their own right. Their barre classes are an amazing workout with the added benefit of feeling choreographed. I was with Zsolt for about a year and a half and literally went from a size 12 to a size 4 (I have the pics to prove it). So much fat killed! Not afraid to show abs anymore. He's funny, has great music and clearly you get an intense workout, but the crazy thing is it goes by in a heart beat, like some magic trick. Try it, you'll see. I took a couple classes from Camila, Malin and Milka - also amazing! Surprisingly, barre is a good supplement to running if you're into that. I am. And Kim! The owner is so sweet and caring - really responsive and wonderful. Not having a phone number to call into was never a problem for me. Really a lovely place and will miss the classes and people a lot. Take care Zsolt, Kim and body dada.

I've been to Los Feliz when I lived in LA and moved to Pasadena when I moved out of LA. My sister and I collectively referred over 10 people to morph whom purchased beginners class, then beginners 10 pack, and some even 15 class packs. We wondered about referrals and no one got back to us. I don't even want a free class but maybe a pair of socks to show their appreciation for all the business we brought to them. We got nothing, not even a verbal appreciation. I've gotten my friends to mostly fill an entire class a few times too. To me, seems like morph doesn't care about their "morphletes" as much as they portray and they only care about the money. Parking: THE PARKING SUCKS. There's only a few spots and the rest is paid parking. I'm already paying $20 per class, I don't want to pay for parking. You have to go at least 15 minutes early to wait in the parking lot for the previous class to come in for lot parking. Classes: the classes are a breeze, they're so easy compared to other studios. I started going to a different studio while having morph credits still and I'd go to morph when I want an easy workout. The flow of the class is different than other lagree studios, exercises have different names too. Some instructors don't even have holds/pauses in the routine. The classes are just not challenging enough. WHY IS THERE NO APP TO BOOK CLASSES? I feel like at this point, an app is bare minimum. Their latest class is 6pm which is hard to make for a corporate employee to attend. The studio I currently attend has 7pm and 8pm classes. Community: As much as they portray a community, there is no sense of community at morph. I've only been going to this new studio for a year and I feel so welcomed and appreciated. At my other studio, I've gotten acknowledgment for my birthday, 50 classes, 100 classes, invitation to join a free class for content, and owners are much more personable. You can tell who is in it for the money and who is actually passionate about lagree. Also, morph trainers spray down the machine as soon as class is over, giving you NO time to stretch because they be waiting by your machine with a towel as soon as class is over. Just feels like they're trying to rush people out asap. Other studios use wipes, giving people time to chill out and stretch after a challenging workout. Overall, There are A LOT of better lagree studios out there, in all the ways. A lot of studios have holiday discounts/founders deals much better than what morph offers. Take it from me who was a huge morph fan who ended up finding a sense of belonging at another studio. Forgot to mention that I been weight lifting for 3 years and the only 2 times I got severely injured to the point of bed rest was at this studio.

The studio itself is spotless and thoughtfully set up. The bathrooms and showers are super clean, which makes those early 6 AM classes so nice because I can shower and head straight to work (complementary towels, shower mats, razors, q tips, deodorant, hair dryers, etc). There's plenty of street parking around the block and designated spots in their lot. Highly recommend :)

I honestly didn't know what to expect going in, but I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. 10/10 would recommend Elady (hopefully I'm spelling her name correctly). She absolutely goes hard during her Tuesday/ Thursday 6:30 PM classes. When you check in, the front desk staff gives you your bike number and walks you through everything, including where the lockers are and how to create your own locker code. No lock needed, which was super convenient. There are also men's and women's showers available. If you have trouble clipping into the bike, the staff is more than happy to help get you set up. The studio is dark, which honestly helps take away a lot of the anxiety about how you look. People of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels are there, and there's zero judgment.
