party set-up - loved how we were able to bring our own food and drinks, full kitchen is awesome
Jasmine W.

My first experience with Sara, Jenn, and their crew was attending my first full moon with tarot card session, which was so relaxing and fun! Their studio is on the 3rd floor above a rug store so just be on the lookout for their signs and walk up 2 flights of stairs. I had such a good time I ended up hosting my mom's night birthday party sound bath here, and they were awesome at helping me plan and letting me bring food and drinks for us to enjoy afterwards. I recently starting taking classes - I mainly do the Sunday morning sound bath then yoga afterwards - and adore when Sara is teaching since her hands on adjustments feel amazing. All equipment provided, friendly and chill community, def encourage folks to check it out!

Have been practicing at Archetype Yoga consistently for the past 5 months, and it's truly become a special part of my week. The studio is spacious, calming, with thoughtful touches like two full bathrooms, unique merchandise and a little library, that make the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. The vibe here is incredibly grounded. Everyone, from the instructors to the fellow students are friendly and down to earth. It never feels intimidating or "scene-y," just full of people showing up for themselves and each other. Every teacher brings something unique, but I have to shout out Sara, my FAV, whose restorative classes feel like a reset for both body and mind--like a gentle therapy session with movement. Nicole also leads a beautiful restorative class, and the Sunday sound bath offering by Chidimma is something next-level. They also go beyond the mat. Archetype hosts a book club, special events like full moon sound baths, jazz night, and you can really tell they care about creating community and supporting people on and off the mat. Their studio manager, Jen is so thoughtful and has an amazing response time via email for help with anything. Was going through some health issues and kept canceling classes last minute for a few weeks and Jen was kind enough to reach out and check in. Doesn't get any more community than that! If you're looking for a studio that blends high-quality instruction with a warm and authentic atmosphere, this is it. Highly recommend!!!

Chidimma Iheonu Sound Bath setup

This review is specifically for the Katonah and Slow Flow classes (+ their weekly sound baths). I'm not great with words, but I think ABUNDANT is the right word to describe Archetype. Sara leads classes with such grace and patience, her adjustments add a (fantastic) gentle push. Katonah is a unique style of yoga that I've come to love. Its emphasis on personal alignment and geometry-- like measuring with fists, props, etc. has helped me further my own growth and practice. The Slow Flow classes have such fun sequences. I learn something new each time. The weekly sound baths are also great-- they are conducted in such a inviting, welcoming, and safe way that I really get to unwind. Chidimma was so sweet and she was so skillful in knowing the right tones to play in order to get everyone to relax. There are plenty of props and mats that are included (free!) with each class, something that other studios normally charge for. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow students to practice with plenty of natural light. Lovely, beautiful space. As a final note-- TWO clean bathrooms! Yay!

I was almost late to class because I couldn't find it! Keep in mind this studio is on the 3rd floor, so you'll have to walk up some stairs. I signed up for class via ClassPass and I was pleasantly surprised! The studio has a little gift shop, kitchen, and a space for yoga practice. They have mats and all the equipment you need - no need to rent anything which is awesome. I took the Restorative Yoga class and it was a 75 minute class that was super calming. We did breathwork and multiple poses that I've never done before. It wasn't an intense workout - or a workout at all, but mostly like a stretching class. The instructor walked through the studio and gave hands on adjustments - which I LOVE. All in all, the class was very calming and I highly recommend people come try it out. I found free 1 hr street parking nearby, but I imagine parking could be more difficult on busier days. Unfortunately, the restroom was out of order during my visit. My other only gripe is that the yoga mats seemed a little dirty - and we weren't asked to wipe them down after class. So I imagine they're just not wiped very often. Prices seem fair - especially if you buy a package.

A portion of the beautiful class area, all equipment is provided for each student which is great!

The space was very clean, had a wonderful aesthetic, class was small and intimate, instructor was great. The greeter was wonderful, very informative, welcoming and funny. The ability to just show up and have all the equipment provided was absolutely convenient and a huge incentive to return. Overall the energy in the space and class experience was a 10/10. Location is prime as well.

I've been a long time member of Corepower so I've had my fair share of hot yoga, and it makes me appreciate the way that hot 8 operates - they have multiple types of classes - I tried Strength, Yin, Sculpt, and they're all fantastic. The membership feels so worth it because of the variety of classes and the multiple rooms/times available. I will definitely be returning. Shout out to the front desk staff - they helped me solve issues with my booking process (my fault) and were so kind/patient when exposing the different classes to me. Oh and shoutout to Allison Chiang - the Strength instructor. She brought the energy and spent time on form correction. So key! Finally - there's free parking with validation in the building! Makes it so easy to commit to the practice.

My favorite class at the moment is Yin, which is a restorative deep fascia release class. (I've had some injuries unrelated to yoga, so I need something more restorative.) Prior to my injury I was taking the Barre classes for 5 to 7 days a week and it changed my life for the best. I am very much looking forward to taking the new Strength classes once I'm feeling up for it. I recommend Mia and Damara for Barre. I recommend Jaz, Shanai (who is also an excellent barre teacher too), and Rachel for Yin. Jaz teaches extra special Yin class with tennis balls that help students stretch into their fascia even more deeply, and is better than any massage I've ever had! With my injury, I'm not sure that I would have continued with my annual executive membership if Jaz were not teaching Yin. Her classes have been a godsend. Even when I'm healed I will continue taking her classes! All the teachers are quite good; I just have my favorites based on personality and instruction style. You are sure to find someone who will exceed your needs! The three reasons that I decided not to give the studio five stars are: 1. they've been running out of the towels that I get with my particular membership. 2. there are some rude students who interrupt important times of instruction, especially the Shavasana, which is critical to closing out a successful yoga practice. 3. The showers can sometimes be a little slimy, which is pretty gross. This was not the case when I first started taking classes almost 2 years ago.

The classrooms are heated and I definitely work up a sweat for the tough workouts/flows. The cool scented towels after classes are super nice. The studio is cozy! There's no showers, but all the areas including the bathrooms are very clean and well kept. There are lockers with built in locks to store your items. I'm in and out of there after my classes. I also love that they have community events and offer special things like sound baths here and there. I look forward to checking out these events in the future once I'm not so busy.

Now that I'm healed, I was thinking about going back to Corepower but the algorithm must have seen me browsing yoga studios and an ad for this place popped up on my Instagram for a $36 for 3 classes intro deal. I was a bit weary of my card automatically getting billed for a membership once my three classes ended, so I called the studio and spoke to Kelsey (She's the daytime studio manager I think) who assured me that there's no catch, I can take the three classes for $36 and decide from there if I want to buy a membership or not. She was super friendly and helpful, she asked me what I was looking for and helped recommend me which classes might be good for me. My first class I took Dahhee's mobility class which I enjoyed. While it definitely feels like yoga, it's not a traditional yoga flow class where you're doing chaturangas and sun salutations between each sequence but a mix of yoga, stretching, and strength building. The second class I took was Kyle's slow flow class. This was more similar to classes I've taken in the past at other studios and I really loved that Kyle integrated her playlist with the movement. The studio is also very welcoming, the first class I went to was an evening class and the evening studio manager Karisma greeted me and helped me check in, while the second time I went during the day and Kelsey was there. There's free combination code lockers in the locker room which is really nice, you don't have to bring your own lock. Parking is fairly easy, they don't have their own lot but there's free street parking on their street. Both times I found street parking right on their street, though they also validate meter parking as the free section is limited. You should give yourself some time to walk over in case you have to park up the street. The two cons I have are: 1) No showers 2) The classes are only warm not hot. I asked Kelsey and she said both classes I took they heat the room to 90 degrees. As someone who's always cold, 90 degrees I'm barely breaking a sweat. The no showers thing actually didn't matter too much because I wasn't drenched in sweat like I usually am after hot yoga. Next week I plan to take the "Power flow" class which I'm told is hotter and also more difficult, so I'm looking forward to it.

I absolutely love this studio, mainly because in most classes, I LEARN something about my body…read more Paul's classes, especially, offer such depth and understanding of biomechanics. Nothing beats the intelligence of the Iyengar system, imho! I will say that Paul has a unique way of balancing his precise knowledge with a very spacious accommodation, which is TRULY the art of an engaged teacher. However, there are other instructors here (I won't name names) that unfortunately trigger my sympathetic nervous system with their tone, and overuse of the word "should." As much as I try to get past this, my breath and body just become tight, and I don't move as freely with overly managed instruction. Yoga House could be one of the last studios on the Eastside that uphold the integrity of a yogic learning environment. As a yogi of 25 years, and an instructor myself, I recommend the Iyengar classes to anyone working to heal injuries and those who want to deepen their practice. It's not a miracle, but a more serious approach to yoga can be transformative, on many levels.

I recently attended the class for people with mobility challenges, led by the incredible Peggy, and it was truly a transformative experience. As someone living with Lupus and Muscular Dystrophy, finding a movement space where I feel safe, seen, and supported has been a long journey. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed--not just by the staff, but by the beautiful community that gathers here. There's a genuine warmth in the room that you can feel, and Peggy's presence and guidance made all the difference. She was patient, attentive, and so compassionate, offering helpful adjustments and making sure each student felt comfortable and included. The studio is clean, calm, and absolutely beautiful. They offer plenty of props to support your practice, and the meditation beginning and at the end of class was the perfect way to wind down and reconnect with myself. It's rare to find a space that honors both your limitations and your potential--but Pasadena Yoga House does just that. If you're looking for a welcoming, inclusive, and healing space to move, breathe, and just be--you've found it. I wholeheartedly recommend this studio to anyone, especially those with mobility challenges or chronic conditions. I left feeling lighter, supported, and truly at home.
