Equinox Pasadena -- next-level training in every detail.
    Omar Z.

Hands down the best fitness and wellness experience in Pasadena. Equinox Pasadena completely raises the bar -- from the spotless facilities and luxury locker rooms to the energy of the trainers and staff who actually remember your name. The saunas, steam rooms, and recovery amenities make it feel more like a high-end spa than a gym. Every visit feels like self-care, not just a workout. If you're serious about your health, performance, and lifestyle, this is the place. Worth every dollar.

I've been a member of Equinox for four years and have just decided to end my relationship with the clubs. It just doesn't add up, even though I do use the gym 5-6xs a week (I'm mid 30s). My membership for SoCal which excludes some LA locations is now $300/month and has climbed about $20 per year consistently. I started as a member in NYC when I lived there before moving to LA and now frequent Pasadenas club. While it's a nice gym with its comforts, I do not think this location and a majority if not all of LA locations are worth the $300/month price tag. Particularly as someone who is coming to Eqx as a strength trainer body builder, there are no real classes for that and the equipment is basic and lacking. It's essentially mostly all geriatric equipment. There is also zero coworking spaces in the LA locations, a perk I found to be a huge benefit in the even nicer and co-working adaptable spaces in Manhattan that truly make it feel like a "club" experience. The Manhattan clubs also have restaurants or lunch counters, none of the LA ones do that. I think Eqx has to take a good hard look in the mirror over the experience it offers in LA vs NYC and see that they truly have to step up their game in SoCal to retain customers at this high value. Currently, the cost does not match the offering. It feels like it's subsidizing its other exclusive clubs in other locations. Also, Pasadena lockers have no guards on any of their door hinges on any of their locker doors. The screws are all sticking out on every hinge, while in other locations they are drilled in all the way and have a guard to protect them from nicking your clothing or your expensive gym duffles. Every single article of clothing I put in and my Dagne Dover duffle have been nicked repeatedly by these lockers. A small detail that again irks me at a place that charges so much. The other thing that is particularly offensive about this location, is that parking is not free. They only validate for 90 minutes, and should you go over you have to pay $1.50, if your workout is over two hours, which is pretty standard considering that you would steam and shower, you are paying $4.50 for parking. Even if you're only working out and steaming and showering and paying $1.50 per workout for parking, that's an additional $30-$35 per month on parking alone for this location. It's inexcusable that you're paying this high club rate and they can't even negotiate free parking with the parking structure. I've gone ahead and canceled my membership and joined another gym in LA that has equipment I've never seen in Equinox that make my workouts feel much more targeted and exciting. These clubs in LA are just not worth it anymore tbh and I hate to admit that but it's true. Eqx, step it up. You're losing the gym game in LA and your user experience feels antiquated, senior, and ineffective for today's young professionals interested in pushing themselves even harder at the gym as a lifestyle.

This location is pretty interesting. It's on the top floor of a building. The parking lot to this building has a Tesla Supercharger, so I had my car charging, while I ran on the treadmill. Then, once the car was charged, I moved it elsewhere, and then went back into the gym to lift weights. The staff was really helpful with parking directions, and greets you with a smile. This location has a wonderful central workout studio for classes. Also, areas for weights, and cardio, of course their locker rooms. I like this chain of gyms more than other chains because the equipment here is very well-maintained, and the gym are rarely so busy that you're waiting around to get a gym or a particular set of dumbells.

I guess I'm never fully awake each time I've been to Equinox over the past year! As many have stated, this location is a bit small but honestly the best option in the SGV. It also helps that it is within walking distance from home. Originally joined with my pledge bro as we noticed more and more aches and pains over the past few years. Definitely not cheap as I still held onto my 24 hour membership at $49/year but I do appreciate the professionalism of the members here. Don't have to worry about my wallet/keys left in the locker while I work out (first handedly witnessed lockers being broken into at a 24 hr fitness location in WLA). Love the usually cold eucalyptus towels while using the steam room. The gym isn't usually too busy and weights/machines are usually open early in the morning so that I can get in/out fairly quickly before I start to work. The locker room is usually tidy but have noticed a few times where other members leave towels lying around after being used. Will likely continue my membership though my bro will likely move his membership to Life Time fitness as he is forced to go into the office 4x a week.

This isn't my usual location, but thought l'd share my thoughts as compared to other equinox locations in the socal area. Pros: - gym layout is simple and good - clean - front desk staff are nice - this is I believe the only location that offered the Pursuit cycling class (utilizing the studio projectors and games that put you into teams against fellow riders in your class.. but it seems like now this offering is removed from all locations) - Updated cardio machines that have apple fitness pairing available - really bright inside with a lot of windows Cons: - Parking is in a structure across the street connected by a bridge, and as a first timer, I parked in the incorrect underground garage. Not intuitive! - the locker rooms are nice and clean, but EXTREMELY small. Like tiny benches, cramped changing areas, the smallest steam room out of any locations I've been to. - The gym floor looks a bit outdated

Big fan of the Equinox in Pasadena! There are convenient rooftop superchargers located in the attached parking garage that bridges to the gym, which also makes for a pretty epic elevated entrance with the charming style of gargantuan architecture Old Town Pasadena is known for. Similar to other Equinox gyms, you'll have two hours of free parking upon validation. Concierge is always welcoming and very friendly, which is hit or miss across various locations. It isn't the most spacious gym, but it makes you feel like it is. There's a decent number of equipment here and plenty of cardio machines and plates for lifting. My only suggestion would be obtaining the all-in-one assisted pull up/chin up/dip machine I've used at other locations. When you're finished working out and have some time to kill, there are plenty of places to eat, grab coffee, etc around the area.

Bumping my rating up to 4 stars bc the causes for the 3-star tantrum I indulged myself in appear to have been solved! I believe there has been a positive change in the women's locker cleaning protocol. I haven't recently experienced any of the complaints I had previously (roped off showers, early sauna closing, rows of open locker doors) near closing time, although I have been in near closing time less often. I got a few complimentary trainings / Equifit assessments sent my way after losing my trainer, and it looks as if that's a pretty typical and accepted resolution at Equinox - my boyfriend has also gotten some free PT sessions as a result of his own trainers changing their place of employment. I've been pretty happy with the gym lately, and would love to give 5 stars, but... I'm hoarding my complete approval for the day they open a red light therapy room ;)

Nice gym with easy access. Doesn't have hoops or a hot tub but it's nice . Equinox is a great spot for digital nomads who work on the go .
