The Banyan is exactly what Frederick has been missing for so long. The interior is absolutely stunning--thoughtfully designed, elevated, and full of incredible vibes from the moment you walk in. It feels fresh, modern, and unlike anything else in the area. The menu is well-curated with a great variety, and the wine and drink selections are especially impressive. It does lean a bit on the higher-end side compared to the typical Frederick scene, but that also adds to its appeal if you're looking for something more upscale. This is definitely going to become one of those go-to, super vibey spots in Frederick--perfect for a night out when you want great atmosphere and a more refined experience.

Rooftop views are nice. Atmosphere is great. The speakeasy is quite the experience. Decor is top notch. Presentation made the entire experience. The General Tsos cauliflower is delicious. The butter tray was fantastic. We ordered the filet and it was cooked to perfection. The side potato's and the sweet potato casserole are outstanding. Recommend the Key.

Positives: Great food, Atmosphere, Wine List via tablet with detailed information about the wine Negatives: spotty and unpolished silverware, dirty bar top, dirty wine glasses, and ownership that uses AI to respond to guest feedback (they included the AI prompt in their response - see picture) This could be a great restaurant but can't be fine dining without the little details.

I have been there twice. The ambiance and decor are beautiful. I love the more formal dining area and the casual rooftop bar combo. They were not too busy on my first visit and Alex and Athena provided excellent attention and great recommendations. I enjoyed the bolognese and the old fashioned. They were pretty slammed on my second visit. I think over time the kinks will get worked out and this will be the place to be in Downtown Frederick.

Really nice lunch today on the rooftop. Taylor was great, the crush had a kick and was really refreshing on a hot afternoon.

Nice atmosphere. Everything is extremely overpriced. Great food though. Drinks seemed watered down. Happy hour is a scam.

I always make sure to stop by whenever I'm in Frederick. The ambiance is like a dim light basement, a clean and moody aesthetic with bar seating and couch seating. It does get loud in there and I think that's because the sound of everyone's voice just bounces against too many hard surfaces. Nonetheless it's super cozy and my favorite spot!! The drinks are all fantastic. They make their own organic distilled liquor and on top of that they away have seasonal drink selections. I go there wanting the same drink but also try something new and it never disappoints! They craft their cocktails with love and care and really put effort into a delicious well rounded cocktail. This is my go to spot for gin, I'm not even a gin drinker but I am now because their gin is amazingly smooth. I can't say enough great things!

It's a relaxed, welcoming spot and a perfect place to hang out for a bit. The staff was amazing, super friendly, and really knowledgeable about everything they offer. The tasting was great and gave a good feel for their lineup. I really liked that they use locally sourced ingredients across a variety of their spirits. You can tell there's a lot of care put into what they're producing. Definitely recommend stopping in. Afterward, head over to their bar next door and try a cocktail made with their spirits. It's absolutely worth it.

We took a table in the rear enclosed patio area near the bar. To start we ordered the meatball sliders. Two come with an order and they were good. I liked the toasted slider rolls, the tangy sauce and the spiciness of the meatball. Recommend cutting it in half to eat it without it flying out of the roll. Overall a good start. I ordered the gnocchi primavera which really wasn't in the traditional sense - as the vegetables were puréed together into an orange sauce. Had a good flavor and was served with burrata. Starters and entrees came out very close to each other which wasn't a bad thing. We also added a margherita pizza to share which looked weird - but tasted great. Nice crisp to the crust and thin. I usually think of a doughier crust with this kind of pizza but still good. Dessert was the fudge cake - rich in flavor, adding a coffee. Overall - would have loved to sit inside and get that experience but still good considering we didn't have a reservation. Our waiter - younger guy out back we good, though at times we leaned on the other bartender to help get refills.
