It does get loud in there and I think that's because the sound of everyone's voice just bounces against too many hard surfaces. Nonetheless it's super cozy and my favorite spot!! The drinks are all fantastic. They make their own organic distilled liquor and on top of that they away have seasonal drink selections. I go there wanting the same drink but also try something new and it never disappoints! They craft their cocktails with love and care and really put effort into a delicious well rounded cocktail. I've been to two events here in the last few months and I hope the owner extends this space beyond July as their website states. What started as a burned-down building in need of repair was turned into an amazing outdoor space that feels natural, intimate and inviting for small events. From comedy to poetry readings, yoga, to art - this space is really special and if you're in the Frederick area it's worth checking out. There's plenty of free or low-cost parking nearby and it's also around the corner from great restaurants and Carroll Creek so the location couldn't be better.

Wandering around Frederick, I walked inside a historic house to find exhibits set up by one of the…read moreoldest historical societies in the country. Two friendly women greeted me and encouraged me to buy a $12 ticket to visit. The bottom floor takes visitors through several rooms of art and history of Frederick County. Upstairs are exhibits about the actual house and a few other topics. Outside is a garden that hosts events. I learned a lot about the area and saw art and photos about life back in the day. I also appreciated that the exhibit acknowledges that the house had owners that once enslaved people. Rather than ignoring it, they call it out.

There is also a Research Center/Library in the basement, and the Taney House which is another museum owned by the same company.
