It was almost a 2 hour drive for us but parking was easy and I promise you, it was worth the drive! From what I understand, this is strictly a venue ... no DJ, catering, bar, etc. services are provided. Not sure if they offer referrals or have a list of providers they can/will share with perspective clients. Have not done that research on my own to confirm but that would just elevate the level of respect I already have for this venue if that were to be confirmed. The bride at today's wedding CLEARLY put the work in to pull this off. EVERYTHING was classy and elegant. I would copy every single detail (except the DJ) for my own daughter's wedding. I know I'm merging reviews here but even her caterer (again, not affiliated with the venue) did a PHENOMENAL job. The pass-arounds / hors d'oeuvres and entire family-style entrees were DELICIOUS. The food is first rate and that's clearly something in which the that Inn takes a lot of pride. It shows. Could not be happier with our room which provided great privacy and space and wonderful views in the evening. A couple small hiccups at the beginning but the management went out of their way successfully to make sure everything was worked out beyond our satisfaction. We are seasoned travelers and we don't expect things to be perfect; what we expect is the kind of alert customer service and conscientiousness that we experienced, that made everything perfect in very short order. I would recommend even just coming for a spa service! The buildings and grounds are well kept and romantic. We enjoyed seeing a horse back riding lesson next door while walking around. If we had more time, we would have enjoyed playing a game of chess with the large lawn pieces or smores around the fire pit. We stayed in the lookout room and found it charming and clean. The charcuterie in the mini fridge was a really nice touch. The dining rooms are beautifully decorated and a warm, romantic atmosphere. Our dinner server Jessi was very accomodating and friendly. The food was deliciously made and presented. We enjoyed the little extras that weren't listed on the menu like the tapenade "amuse bouche" and ginger ice palate cleanser. However, I am only giving four stars because I was disappointed by the vegetarian dinner entree option. A cauliflower steak offers no protein value and I left still hungry. This wouldn't bother me if the price were half as much. It seems like it would have been easy to offer a lentil and/or chickpea stew with the same tikka masala sauce the cauliflower was served in - still vegan/vegetarian and much more filling. Or a pasta, tofu, tempeh... so many other options that could have better justified the price to me. At least breakfast was incredible and filling with the eggs. Overall a lovely stay but for dinner I would recommend that vegans/ vegetarians consider whether the price is worth it!

The breakfasts were great, tasty and well presented in a dining room full of history. Charles Town has many good restaurants, most within easy walking distance of the Inn, and Harper's Ferry was only an 11 minute drive away. Centrally located, full of history and a wonderful host! Highly recommended.

They have the most beautiful treatment room and most comfortable massage table I've even been on. The little touches are what put it over the top- the prepared charcuterie in the mini fridge- our preferred beverages stocked, rose petals on the bed, it was all very thoughtful and beautiful. You can tell Kelly takes a lot of pride in the integrity of the historic home and of her business. Ashley was wonderful too, they were excellent hostesses but did not hover and it felt very quiet and secluded- exactly what I needed! My husband and I always feel so welcomed here. Kelly is incredibly kind, accommodating, and inviting. Breakfast is excellent every morning, and they provide a daily charcuterie board to snack on, which is such a nice, thoughtful touch. We also loved that they have a fully stocked, self service coffee bar available anytime, featuring a great variety of coffees, espressos, teas, and even hot chocolate to suit whatever mood you are in. If you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, this is it. The staff is so friendly, and having spa services available right on site makes it even better. Plus, it is in a great location, just a short, easy drive into Middletown to grab lunch or dinner. This is the perfect place to truly unwind and recharge.
