It is always well kept and it seems like improvements are always being done. The whole place is a rustic old farm that has been renovated and updated with modern features. Our party was held in the Barn. It was very clean, modern, and nicely decorated. Hard to tell that it was an 1800s bank barn. It easily accommodated our apx 50 employees and their families. Upstairs was our cocktail area with dinner downstairs. It was slightly cold downstairs but considering the middle of December with temperatures in the 30s and an original 1800s era bank barn and stone foundation, it was understandable. The staff were outgoing and friendly. There are several other buildings available on the property for rent as well. It was a wonderful experience and I would love to attend another event at this facility. As for the 1 one star review, I would say that it is related to the 3 "1" star reviews on Google, all posted at the same time, from users with only 1 review, all detailing a horrible wedding and beer being removed from their rentals. I would assume an attempt to gang up on this facility when they violated a contract rule and state laws. Directly from the facilities website states, "Alcohol is permitted on the day of your event (bring your own), however a bartender(s) will be provided by Caboose Farm. We want you to have a good time, but at the same time, we encourage you and your guests to drink responsibly." Clearly this statement indicates alcohol outside of the day of your event not served by their bartenders is not allowed (which is a Frederick County Maryland Liquor Law). Hardly not stealing, but an inability to adhere to the rules and regulations. The reviewer failed to mention that the group was also contacted by law enforcement for noise complaints from some of the over 40 neighbors within half of a mile. I didn't see any other reviewers complaining that they received noise complaints? Sounds like quite a rowdy wedding party to me that was unhappy they got their hands smacked and a talking to.
