Truly, I think it's because the job done was sub-par and on purpose to get my vulnerable and naive self back into their shop. I have spent $3000+ here and will never get it back unless I get a lawyer which I'm highly considering. When I got my fuel injectors done, I immediately had a problem with the engine starting. I took it in for diagnostics and they charged me 160 dollars for them to just look at it. Nothing seemed wrong to their technicians and I was told that it was fine and would level itself out. It did not. I went back again and they said that I needed a small part that I could replace myself easily. I did and still the problem didn't go away. Dave asked me why I hadn't come back and the reason is because he has led me on and bled me dry every time I just had someone look at it. I really thought that Dave was a nice guy and I trusted him but once I had spent $300+ on diagnostics alone, my faith was shaken. Today, my engine didn't start. I called Dave and he basically said that he didn't want to work with me anymore and GOOD LUCK. I was angry on the phone and I guess they say being nice goes a long way, so this was definitely my bad. I am very disappointed in Dave and the scam he runs as a business and I hope he doesn't do this to his daughter. The calls are recorded and I am talking to a lawyer because the other shop I went to charged me nothing. For such a "good" reputation, B+L auto seems to be a sham and I do not suggest you going in to this shop ever unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket and you want to feed the dollar signs in Dave's eyes. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU RESPECT YOUR MONEY OR TIME.

Auto Stop installed a rebuilt engine in my VW Vanagon. Within three miles of leaving the shop, the…read morelow coolant warning alarm came on. I immediately returned, but after a brief inspection I was told there was nothing wrong. When I left the shop, the warning alarm came on again. I called Auto Stop, explained that the warning had returned, and was again assured there was nothing wrong. I was told to wait and see if the alarm came on again after driving. Unfortunately, the problem persisted, and I could smell coolant burning on the hot engine. I made it home just before coolant began dripping from the vehicle. At that point, I had the van towed to another repair shop. The second shop found that the primary coolant hose from the reservoir to the engine had been installed incorrectly and was approximately 3/4 inch too short. They also discovered a second hose with a large bulge that was on the verge of rupturing. Both issues required immediate repair. What disappointed me most was not simply that mistakes were made, but that my concerns were repeatedly dismissed. After the warning alarm came on twice within minutes of leaving the shop, I expected a thorough inspection of the cooling system rather than reassurance that nothing was wrong. Because of the improper installation, I incurred more than $500 in additional repair costs, plus the cost of towing the vehicle to another shop. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Auto Stop. The quality of the installation, the lack of careful follow-up, and the poor customer service left me with significant additional expense and inconvenience.

Unfortunately, they were unable to find the source of the noise or resolve the issue. Despite not finding the problem, I was still charged $150 for the visit. I also noticed that approximately 20 additional miles had been added to my truck. I understand that diagnosing a vehicle problem can sometimes be difficult, but paying $150 without the issue being identified or resolved, along with the unnecessary mileage, left me very disappointed. Based on my experience, I would not return here for future repairs.

My dad has been going to Tom's alignment for over 30 yrs, when TJ's dad ran the business and we have received the same quality and customer service from day one. I strive to find experts when I don't have the expertise to do it myself. I had several people I trust lead me to an alignment expert in Bend, OR where I was told that my alignment was good, but my lower control arms needed replacement. A $1200 job. I left that shop with data sheets, a screwed up alignment job, a bill and a quote for more work. I immediately called TJ. I was expecting TJ to have to replace the lower control arms. His crew got into the job while replacing my suspension and found nothing wrong with the lower control arms. WORKING WITH TOMS ALIGNMENT SAVED ME $1200! We left messages at several places and then left our truck at Tom's waiting for the shop to open. By the way, we never received a return phone call from any of the other shops in Bozeman! Coming off the holiday weekend Tom's was pretty booked with usual customer repairs. TJ said he would do his best to look at it by the end of the day. Sure enough we got a call saying that we needed new calipers, rotors and brake pads at the end of the day. He said it would be ready by the end of day the next day.
