Most organized and transparent consignment store I've dealt with - very impressed.

I recommended this place to a relative after reviewing their website and hearing some positive reviews. Wow! This place deserves less than one star with their business practices. What was brought in was high end designer items/high end vintage/denim, etc. after being told you could only bring two bags at a time (mind you this was a two hour round trip), you are asked to wait an HOUR for them to go through everything.... after that, they are too CHEAP to actually purchase the items, they basically force you to CONSIGN THE ITEMS. Then, after a week of them having the items, my relative receives an EMAIL FROM THEM TELLING THEM THEY REJECTING TEN ITEMS THAT THEY ALREADY SPENT AN HOUR CHOOSING ONLY ONE WERK BEFORE!!! What a waste of time. They really need to pull their act together. What a total waste of time. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!! read more

Like most consignment and used clothing stores it's really a hit or miss. This was only my second time stopping in p, it seems to be they recently started dabbling in what I would describe and low end designers. Ie coach fossil etc. you of course have to dig around to find some goodies, but might be worth the dig. We visited this shop while in Bethlehem to see Blondie in concert (as an aside great concert). There was a nice selection and we found quite a few things to bring Brooklyn at a nice price. We will visit again next time we are in town. read more

A co-worker had suggested a check this place out to sell my unwanted clothes and jewelry. I packed up two medium shopping bags full of clothes and jewelry. Got to the store dropped it off and said I would be back to pick it up later. When I arrived back about 15 minutes later the employee handed both of my bags practically full. She said they were able to take a few items and the jewelry. I saw a nice pair of never worn express jeans on top and asked why they weren't taking them. She told me that they were more than 2 years old. This is true, however they are NEVER WORN and they are dark jeans which will never go out of style. When I asked to see what they did take I almost laughed out loud. They took a pair of shorts that I bought back in high school (10 years ago) and a few juicy couture tops that were at least 6 years old. Explain the logic to me. You won't take never worn jeans from 5 years ago but you will take shorts and shirts from a decade ago?? I will be taking my clothing to another consignment shop! The $16 I received was not worth it considering I had to park blocks away and carry my heavy bags through the crowded streets of downtown Bethlehem. read more

You can walk in with clothes that have tags on them and still leave with them and disappointment. I have sold clothes there twice now thinking it was just the clerk. I will make more on ebay! Also, i couldn't find anything to buy :( read more

Wow! I was not impressed AT ALL with this location! I have to say, I think the reviews that were written are probably from the people that own/work there! This place was a dump! The shoe selection was hysterical! I couldn't believe some of the things they were actually trying to resell! Not only that, but they were displaying them right when you walked in! Do these people know anything about merchandising? Ladies, if you're going to sell crappy looking items, at least hide them towards the back, not in the front where it's the first thing you see when you walk in! The young girl at the counter was not friendly at all but, really, I didn't expect to get a ton of help, I mean, it is a consignment shop! But, at least a "hello" would have been cool. Since it's such a small shop, it was ackward looking around with the sales girl there who didn't even ackowledge me. Fake bags everywhere. They have items hanging around that are "Gucci" "Fendi" that can easily be stolen ... Why? Bc they aren't authentic so they could give the least shit about it. The prices are the same as the authentic items. But !!!! They had nice clothing if you dig. :) I found some good items. Shoes are busted up but if you can work miracles then I suggest buying them and fixing them up. They had cute little accessories. Dressing rooms are in an awkward spot. Lady opened the door and hit me in the back and Had the nerve to say "Why the fuck are you standing in front of my door"? ... Lol funny right... And I was like "Fuck you"... So disapointed. I am a Bethlehem local and I work at another retail spot nearby. I KNOW retail, and have felt insulted on more than one occassion when I have taken brand new items, never worn, name brand clothing, J.Crew, Michael Stars, Free People, etc. They have claimed stains (I looked at the particular piece and found NO stains), pilling, and their favorite reason, "this style just doesn't sell well for us." Well, they have lost my business for good. I know a ton of other consignment shops in town that are a much friendlier atmosphere and are happy to take your clothing, and work with you. Also, to clarify the above, "wheelchair accessible", the new Main Street store is NOT accessible. I had to bring a stroller in one day and the girl behind the counter was very annoyed to help someone with a stroller who wanted to spend money. read more

A lot of sneezing but that just means quality service. Filled with beautiful people helping you pick out best piece of clothing. My first experience walking into this grand establishment was when i really had to use the bathroom and one of ladies showed me the secret door and even held my earl grey tea for me. You can't get that kind of service anywhere! One of the local plumbers (bubby) did a fantastic job with the toilet, its sounds like a starving person eating the highest quality thick barilla spaghetti. What can i say, this store is like a needle in a hay stick but this special little needle is what adds to the highest thread count, with a smile. I found this place by accident when I was walking around the area. I love browsing through thrift stores to see interesting finds so I was excited to go in. I don't usually look at clothing so I just looked through the jewelry and purses. I found an amazing 70's Coach cross body bag. The cost was a bit higher than what I thought it would be but with some considerations I decided to get it. I love how it looks and got a lot of compliments on it. Sadly, after that experience I didn't find anything good after several other visits. read more

Cash for your unwanted clothes and accessories. My advice would be to gather up everything you want to donate to a thrift store, but make a stop at the Attic on the way. They are extremely choosy but honestly, why should they pay for unsellable clothes? They look for 1) good condition and 2) current season/in style. Drop off your stuff, they'll give you an estimated time to come back, and they'll offer you a store credit or cash. I always take the cash. Warning - the Bethlehem location does NOT hold onto your unwanted items. You have to take them with you. Their website isn't really clear on this but that's how it goes. They have everything from fun dollar bins to go thru up to super high-end brand names for great prices. The staff is so friendly and helpful too. The Attic is different from other consignment or thrift stores, it's always fashionable, affordable, and fun too! Great shop to find a treasure every now and then. The atmosphere can be closturephobic at times but the smallness of the space gives it that eccentric feel. The jewelry is over priced as well as some clothing but they make up for it with the amount of sales they always have going on during the week. I have been in this store several times. Each time the experience has gotten worse. I brought a shopping bag of clothing and a nice designer bag that I purchased the season prior. Much to my dismay they did not take anything and said my items were outdated in a tone that was geared more toward the antisocial. It was quite embarrasing. I took it as a bad day for them. It is unfortunate that every time I have come back (4 times) the temperment has declined. I have since found other consignments that have replaced this store. I found a great pretty top, it was $25, which is a lot for a consignment store, I really liked it so I bought it anyway. When I got it home I saw in the natural light that it had lip stick stains on the main hem at the base of the top, in four places. In the stores lighting I didn't see the stains. I emailed the owner and this is what she responded with; "We are so sorry that you received a damaged item at our store. We train all our employees to look over clothing thoroughly before taking it in, but unfortunately mistakes do happen. Occasionally things get damaged in the store from customers trying them on as well. We've made a coupon code for you at our online store. It will get you 25% off your entire purchase." I've been in here a few times, and it's rather hit or miss, although the overwhelming feeling has been negative, and I'll explain why - The first time I came in I brought along a garbage bag filled with the never worn/very expensive designer clothes that I brought home from college the semester before. I came back about an hour later only to be told they couldn't take my stuff because it looked "worn". Now, besides the fact I had never even tried on the clothing I brought in, I was a little confused that a USED CLOTHING store would not take clothes because they think they've been worn? I left really angry (- Points!). The next time I came in to browse and see if I could find some good winter clothes cheap. Despite that awful musty smell you experience while shopping in these types of stores, I was able to find a Hollister sweatshirt and a cute pair of shoes for a decent price. (+ Points!) I was happy with this experience until I came home and saw a stain on the sweatshirt. Um, Didn't they not take my stuff because they thought it looked "worn"? Whatever, at least I didn't pay a lot for it.. (- Points!) The next time I came in, only about a week ago now, I was unable to find ANYTHING even remotely decent clothing wise. I also noticed the prices had been raised since the last time I was there, a used American Eagle shirt for $12? You can buy them new in the store for $15! I was about to leave when I noticed some cute decorative furniture items in the front of the store. I picked something up and went to pay when the old woman and young girl working the counter very rudely screamed "That's not for sale!". Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but why put items out if their not for sale? (- Points!) After this I was just fed up. I agree with a previous reviewer who said that for such a small shop they should be able to manage just a HINT of customer service. I think the prices need to go BACK down and they need to organize the store a bit better. Don't put items you don't sell out where they get people's attention. I can't complain about their clothing selection because I understand that comes and goes, but there's a lot of things that can be easily changed to make this a decent store.
