I've been in this store many times over the past 3 years or so, and I personally find it more miss than hit. I also have found the staff to be unknowledgable on many things, as well as often rude and/or nasty, and have been told several lies here. Additionally in my ventures here, I find their pricing to be quite odd. With all of these negative things, why have I come back over the years, and to be honest, I am really not sure, but I hit a moment in here about a week ago where I have decided not to go into this store any further. As for the staff being unknowledgeable, at times I have brought things in here, on one occasion a couple of years ago, I had a gold necklace with me and a couple of nice earrings, I thought perhaps the store might like to have a few nice things in it. Either the answer is apparently not, or the gal behind the counter had no idea what she was looking at, because she was going to price a pair of 24K gold and ruby earrings that retailed for $875 (I purchased them back in 2003 at that price, gold has gone up considerably since then), and she thought $2.95 was an appropriate price, meaning I would get 88.5 cents (melt value on these earrings as of the other day is several hundred dollars). As for rude and/or nasty, I asked for the earrings back because I would not be selling them, and if she realized that the earrings were 24k gold and real ruby, and first she tried to argue with me that they were not, when I pointed out the stamp on the inside of the earrings, she got indignant and told me they looked cheap and there was no way of telling the real stuff from the fake stuff (ok, so I guess we quickly forgot about the stamp that legally identifies the product as real?). Anyhow, as for the lying on another occasion I was in here, a gal at the counter was selling items and was going through the items as the clerk took them in, told the seller they do not take teapots or lingerie, which it looked like a couple of many pieces. I couldn't help but bring a piece of lingerie and a teapot the store was selling up to the counter to ask a couple of questions. Seriously? Does this store think that it's customers are stupid? And finally the straw that broke the camels back, I was in the store and someone had come in to sell and was told she could not because there was not a manager there. This is the first I've ever heard of this in the store, and yet there is never a manager in this store, at least not that I've ever known of. The clerk was actually quite rude about it as well. The woman who was told this asked when a manager would be in, and the clerk behind the counter told her she had no idea. In roughly 3 years of coming to this store I've never heard of anyone not being allowed to sell. This is discriminatory and I think the gal who came in mentioned that too. I hope she reports this place to the BBB, because this would be a case I would love to hear about. Totally never going to this store or any of it's other locations again. I don't know what all this pretentiousness is about, it's a thrift store for crying out loud. I am so glad Plato's Closet is in town, and I can't wait for them to open. read more

I've been in this store multiple times over the years, to buy and sell, and while I've found few things here to purchase over the years, as it's not exactly my style, I've also have seen the store go downhill substantially. Also I don't really understand their pricing, and there is a great deal of inconsistencies in each staff members pricing. I've seen a Forever 21 top that sold originally for $8.90 brand new at the mall (I know because I owned it), and at the Attic, it was priced at $19.95, and just a few feet away was a Coach purse with the tags on it priced for $4.95. To me it seemed a little backwards. As a side note, I like to know what things are going to be priced at, because for most of my items, I would rather keep it if I don't get at least a certain mark for it, sometimes I change my mind, and bring the item back at a later date after getting a few more wears out of the garment, and on many occasions there have been staff members that will price it super low, and then a different staff member that would price the same item months later at 4 to 5 times the original price offer. I think the shoes are very overpriced, just my opinion. Also there have been a number of times that items I brought in, there were items that were not tallied into my total, and I've asked about this, some of the staff members have done a double check over the years, but for the most part I've been told that I am wrong. Realistically, if I am wrong that's one thing, but don't just override me as the customer, do a double check to make sure, I don't mind apologizing if I am wrong, but I certainly don't want to be taken advantage of because of a seemingly failing business. This store really took a nose dive after Plato's Closet opened up, and with that being said, I have had better luck in finding things I like at Plato's as well as much larger payouts/credit. The Attic is like a last resort for me. Most of my experiences in this store as far as the staff and owner Ann goes, is that the staff are very sloppy, disorganized, and snarky to very rude, not always, but most of the time. The red head occasionally in this store anymore, and used to be there quite often has always been a bit unfriendly/anti-social-like, and I am hoping an allergy to deodorant, because there have been many times I've smelled BO. Like I said, this is my absolute last resort for selling, and I certainly wouldn't bring anything here that you have any potential reservations about getting rid of. One of the best stores in Bethlehem. Not only does it always have a stylish and colorful storefront window, but inside is adorable!! It has a very comfortable shopping atmosphere. You can be incredibly creative with your outfits, as there are so many pieces you can mix and match. There is always a great selection of name brand clothing plus the cutest accessories. If you're environmentally conscious, you know that even big companies like Nordstrom are reselling their own gently used clothing and shoes. The Attic does the same thing with a variety of clothing, shoes and a bunch of different jewelry that will complete any outfit(s) you find there. The Attic has rings, bracelets, sun glasses and scarves!! You can find evening wear and prom dresses. They have many different styles and sizes for men and women for every season. I especially love the unique way they put together Halloween costumes, if you're looking for an original idea, look here before you fight the masses in stores for a generic costume six other people will also be wearing. It's also super easy to consign there, plus periodically they have $5 bag sales!! Fill a bag for $5 is something you can't find at any other store. A visit here when you're in Bethlehem's center of town is a must! My best time frame is no less than 20 minutes (and I can usually stay longer) because there's such a great variety of items to explore. I can not go in and come out leave empty handed. Just too much fun and very affordable finds. Spruce up a basic outfit with a new accessory...they've got so much to look through. Find that one piece that finishes an outfit you're putting together at a great savings. Create a new head to toe look for an amazing price reduction - your secret, of course. Keep current with fashion pieces from seasonal consignment treasures. Turn over your closet by bringing in your "retiring" items for consignment sales at The Attic. Their location accommodates Main Street shoppers very well and they are often running some attractive specials. I hardly make it past the jewelry and scarves without finding "must haves". If you're a thrift shop frequenter you'll appreciate the quality and variety in this great boutique of surprises. read more

I love to buy and sell here! With the Facebook Live sales I can buy both online and in the store. Always a great selection of items, especially clothes and shoes. They really cater to their customers...no ridiculously high shipping charges. If you buy online they do ship, but I usually just pick up in the store. Anne is especially friendly and I always enjoy seeing her when I stop in. Parking can be a bit tricky depending on when you go, but it's in an ideal location with lots of great places to eat nearby! One suggestion if you go...if you see something you like, BUY IT. The good stuff sells fast and it probably won't be there when you come back. The Attic has been such a huge help to me in selling/consigning my old clothes. Before I started to consign with The Attic, I would try to sell my clothes to Plato's Closet and they would take one thing out of an entire trash bag full of clothing and give me $1 for it - a waste of my time. The Attic usually takes 75% of the clothing I bring in, if it's in season. It takes a little while for the clothing to sell when you consign, but I don't mind waiting. It's always a nice surprise to get that consignment check in the mail when you weren't expecting it. Employees are always polite and I've never had a bad experience selling or consigning. No way. I had the strangest experience early last evening. I was shopping on Main St. in Bethlehem and stopped in out of curiosity. I heard this woman screaming...as in literally attacking someone. I stuck around long enough to learn that it was the owner. I was told her name was Anne something. If someone is in business, I believe it's equally important for the business owner to project an image of professionalism while off the job and please....while on the job. I would never buy a thing from such a business owner. I ended up going into the consignment shop across the street and was able to do some shopping in peace. read more

The attic is a cute consignment shop located right in downtown Bethlehem! Perfect for men and woman looking for little items of clothes such as men/women gloves, caps , mittens etc. to lower price jewelry and clothing! For all sizes and ages! Me and my love have been stopping by there for years! The people that work there are really awesome! "Sarah" and "Michelle" have been such a big help in finding items and gifts for my girlfriend! Always a great experience selling with the attic as well as purchasing from them. The associates are faster, helpful, and nice. I personally think that the selection here is superior to any other used clothing shops in the area. The prices are very affordable and there's always a sale and they have a great rewards program too. I always get compliments on items I purchased here! The items are so much cheaper and trendier here than Plato's closet and in much much nicer condition - I always tell my friends to come to the attic instead. I fell in love with the attic when attending Kutztown University, I knew that no matter for small my budget I could trade a few items i wasn't into anymore and have a new outfit for the evening. Now living in Bethlehem I have been able to keep refreshing my closet without breaking the bank! I picked up an AWESOME free people sweater the other day for 15.95! The girl at the counter was so nice and chatted to me about fashion, music and other great places to find deals. I love the vintage and newer labels all under one roof, totally feeds my retro style! In response to the owners response on my initial review: I DID have an appointment. Also when I came in and explained that to them, I was nothing but polite and I asked to speak to the manager since I was denied an answer and they would not let me contact the manager. Their staff was NOT polite at all. In fact, they were rude, condescending and very mean. They called me a liar twice. Introduced to this little gem for shopping by my daughter.Was instantly hooked! Started by consigning a bunch of items. Sold them all and gained money to shop. Started in June, 2020 and still going strong. Wonderful selections of tops, bottoms, accessories and did I mention their great jewelry. Live shows enhance the shopping experience! The Attic is a fantastic store. You can buy cute and awesome thing at a very low price. Very nice and helpful staff. I came to the store looking for an red long sleeves and a sailor hat for a costume and I remember since it was Halloween they had costumes out and there was a sailor hat the one I just need on a manikin. The store is great for all ages too. I'm 14 years old and I could easily find many things that I love and will wear on a daily basis. I can not walk by this store on Main Street in Bethlehem without a walk thru and I always find the greatest accessories and accent pieces for my wardrobe. It's definitely got a younger look feature, current fashion even though it's consignment. I came in with my daughter the other day for the first time and it's safe to say this will be my last time. Upon entering, we were not greeted by anyone and the workers did not even look up from their phones. We looked around for a little but realized everything was a disorganized mess.
