They have plenty of items here that are "new in box" that although the box is banged up, at least it is not growing of mold or anything that can be harmful to you and the items seem to be in mostly near-perfect condition. There seems to be everything here from new in box, to opened returns, to used items that have somehow ended up here (all clearly indicated). They had pallets of Amazon items, Home Depot items (who wants two tubs and a shower shell that probably dont fit together?), etc. Some items are pricey for what they are, but they still seem to be discounted from paying full price, even if it is only $8-10 cheaper. We managed a gem of a brand new in box carseat for half the price they are normally. We had bought a cheapy car seat to travel with and my son hates it, I was desperate to get something he would be able to sit in for a 2.5 hour drive back to the airport later this week and we were fortunate to get an amazing deal at the Big Catch (yes, I got my big catch!). The carseat I purchased is normally in retail stores for $360 plus tax and we got it for $179. The Britax carseats are an expensive brand and the Advocate is the most expensive line they make (reinforced with stainless steel, etc.), heavy and supposed to be the best for transporting kids. Once they are installed in a car properly, they do not move! I thought there must be something wrong with it, so I came into the store and inspected the box, it was manufactured in July 2021 (they are good for 10 years) and the carseat was still in its original plastic. SOLD! We installed it in the parking lot and my son was a happy camper. I may never have the need to come back to The Big Catch but I do recommend anyone shopping to take a peek at their inventory, they have everything from cribs ($120!) to strollers and carseats, microwaves, gaming headphones, etc. I'm sure their inventory is ever-changing but there will be some hidden jewels here for someone!! Also, hilarious sign on the bathroom (see photo). Haha, highly recommend!

The store was reconfigured and it looks nice except for my favorite area is gone- the smaller area that had a cart of low priced random items and lots of bargain priced antiques called "salvage". There is a new space called "salvage"- but it's primarily doors and pieces of wood- minus the best part to me-low priced antiques. I asked about this and was told that those items are now sprinkled in the store (I hadn't seen any upon my last few trips) Many of the vendors I liked are gone too. I think the biggest disappointment to me was 2024 almost monthly promotion of a "flea market". I was really excited to check that out! I had expected vendors to be set up in the parking lot- there were cars even parked along the shoulder of 895. You can imagine my surprise when not one vendor was set up and the parking lot was vacant. I felt like that was a bait and switch type thing and it made me fall out of love (I hope only temporarily) with Studio 895. I don't think healthy businesses need to do that. I'm not saying I would never go back but this is why I have not been there and why I have discontinued bringing my friends here and meeting up here. The staff has always been helpful and friendly in the past. I look forward to going back sometime and elevating my review. I hate writing unfavorable reviews but- I also need to be honest. The fake flea market made me feel duped and I had been tricked into wasting my precious weekend time. Maybe something happened that I was not aware of. I'm not on "F" book and I think the business communicates through that channel.

However, it is HUGE and very…read moreaffordable, open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and just past the train tracks over on Highland Avenue, in a former knitting mill. They only take cash or checks. We have found a number of amazingly priced items, and my spouse has to drag me past the $1, $3, and $10 tables full of old glassware and knick knacks. He is right; we don't need any more! But these old martini glasses tell a story. Oh well. Best to go in with a mission. And they will negotiate. We thought long and hard about buying the old wooden pulpit to use as a book stand. Yes, you will see cool and unusual things: cooking stoves from around 1900, old jukeboxes, life-sized plaster cows and pigs.... The employees sing along loudly to the classic rock coming from well-placed speakers. We always see college students in here, looking to furnish their apartments. When the large loading door is open, it is freezing in there, and I occasionally smell cigarette smoke, but not on any furniture I have purchased.

I didn't find anything here on this trip but if you're in the area it's certainly worthwhile going to shop. There were plenty of interesting antiques. I especially liked the cookie jar collection.
