Ghastly. Needed a suit so figured this was a good place to start- what a mistake. The sales team was awful & behaved like a car dealership only willing to sell what was on the lot. They had a sale 'buy one get $100,' whatever my husband needed a suit and didn't really care about the sale but why not take advantage of it. The first suit was nice but plainly defective, the stitching around the back of the shoulder/sleeve was shirred which happens when you machine improperly... Things happen, no biggie but own it, not what they did they tried to steam it and talk us into taking it anyway and then put it back on the floor for some other poor customer so yikes. We did like one of the suits which was a go so sort of confused, I asked if they can order just another one online and I got a run around full of redirection, like I'm a complete idiot and wouldn't notice. We noticed but we let it slide because we really just wanted a suit. Sales guy showed another suit that was completely ill fitting and totally the wrong size and insisted it was fine... Like ridiculously ill fitting not just a little too long in the arm; the pants fit like a tourniquet and top pinched in the middle like a halter top, so with a straight face he went with some song and dance about how people wearing tight suits now... Ummm really, who says that? If it's supposed to fit that way it will fit that way in the appropriate size otherwise it's just the wrong size. Then I get more fast talk about how he doesn't know if he can find it in the correct size and on and on and on so I called the store from Bridgewater New Jersey and they said they can find it online but this guy couldn't so what does that tell you? Started feeling a little bit like I was in a car dealership at this point and became increasingly direct because I wanted a straight answer. Next he brought out a completely different brand that wasn't Jos a Banks it was Aboud & started pushing that, I can get one of those at Stein Mart or Macy's no need to be there. Anyway my husband asked about the price and we were told it was also buy one get one $100 and then a seamstress came out and told us no no that's not true you have to buy the $900 suit and they will give us the $450 one half price... She said there were two sales going on that apparently the salesman didn't know about (what) so it all seemed a little bit off script. I kept asking for him to inquire if they could find the original ones that we liked in different sizes anywhere or online and kept getting stonewalled. Even worse he started getting irritable and more apathetic towards voiced wants while throwing off the air like we were asking too much, like they weren't going to be $1000. Really? Aren't salespeople supposed to be selling things not make customers wish they were somewhere else? After some time going around with him trying to clumsily lead us by our noses with sloppy comments about how all the jackets are having trouble with the sleeves now (what) we had enough. With a condescending air he told us how Brooks Brothers are going to be twice as much so we put this aside when we came back to which I responded, $1000 out-of-pocket is $1000 and I think we'd rather have one gorgeous suit than two we didn't want. So we walked across to Brooks Brothers and bought a beautiful blue suit for thousand dollars with excellent customer service.
I'm not going back, my suggestion is to do yourself a favor and don't go here either try to get to Bridgewater or the one in King of Prussia or do Macys on sale or even splurge on Brooks Brothers but avoid this terrible place it's too much money to deal with this kind of customer service.
It's rare that I've had one store sell me another stores brand but that's what happened today. Still laughing that this was a sales team, we walked in willing to spend $1000 and they drove us out because they wanted to control where we spent it and channel us towards shoddy items- no thanks. Now I don't know if this was the fault of the salesman or if the store policy is to only sell what's on the rack but Just wow read more
