I have left several reviews about this restaurant but wanted share another as I have tried a new dish tonight. The Thai noodles were very tasty as I love a good gochujang sauce. Today's sweet potato and Gorgonzola tacos were the best they've ever been. I hope the chef continues to make them exactly like this as they were not greasy, stuffed completely, and the sweet potatoes were exquisitely tender. We hope the consistency of these tacos continue. We wish they had an impossible burger as on Thursdays they have burger night, but I do not prefer black bean vegetarian burgers. We are vegetarian and always looking for food options in the area. We would love to suggest other tasty vegetarian creations to be added to the menu. The service staff here is always extremely friendly and today was a nice night out and they had their doors open for a nice breeze. We will return again. read more

I was so excited to discover vegan options near my hotel. I really enjoyed the vegan hummus wrap at the house chips and a pickle. My family enjoyed their food however one of the people I travel with noted that their burger could've been cooked a different way. The location is perfect you can sit outside when the weather is permitting or inside and catch a sports game they even offer merchandise associated with this location I'll definitely have to check it out again the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. read more

Hubby and I were on a recent weekend getaway so we turned to Yelp for food recommendations. That's how we ended up here. We sat in the patio area and there was live music in the amphitheater. We were glad we chose to eat here because the other restaurants were closer and the music would have been too loud. I ordered an Italian sub which was loaded and tasty. It came with a red vinegar sauce on it that I enjoyed. With a side of chips and a pickle it was a good lunch. Hubby ordered the chicken quesadilla and it wasn't very good. It hardly had any flavor. It came with salsa and sour cream but that wasn't enough to make it flavorful. He ate part of my sandwich and enjoyed it much more. I'm not sure if we'd eat here again if visiting the area. There are so many places to try and it's not likely we'd be in this direct area again. read more

Was there yesterday for lunch. We had the Mango shrimp ceviche appetizer and I couldn't stop eating it. It was so good. Then we had the Connecticut style lobster roll and it also was fabulous. Ambiance = 4 Service = 3 Food = 4 Great location to sit on patio and listen to the bands in the plaza. Service is always slow here even though neither the bar nor tables are full. We had crab cakes appetizer which was tasty but breading was a bit too salty. My husband had the seafood pasta dish which had a lot of lobster in it. I had the Mediterranean Salmon which was cooked perfectly. The vegetables that came with my dinner were the house seasoned green beans. They were way too salty to eat. The chef definitely needs to add less salt to the food. Food would have received a 5 but the reoccurring salt issue made me drop it to a 4. read more

We recently held a Bridal Shower in the Event Center at Anchor Point Bistro. Kim and her Staff were so accommodating. Everything we needed was in place when we arrived to set up. Our server was so attentive and sweet. Brunch was served on time, and the food was refilled as needed. The food was delicious, and the signature Mimosas and Bellinis were a huge favorite for our guests. Everyone had plenty to eat, and complimented the food, beverages, and facility. It's a beautiful restaurant it is equally nice eating inside or outside on the patio. I have enjoyed most of the things I have tried on the menu but it seems to be heavily reliant on who is cooking. The burgers are the most hit or miss, I have had burgers there that are so good they feel life changing and I have had overcooked pucks that are as dry as the desert and a few times where the meat is raw. I would always recommend the anchor bread, cheesy hogs, steak tips and basically anything from the breakfast menu. The staff is always sweet, though inattentive. Plan on having patience; I have been going there for years and have always had to ask for drink refills (assuming they come near enough to snag one) and the check. I have even a couple times had to go find my waitress to ask her to take our order. If you're ok with a good meal with a slow, small town feel. It is a great place to go. Otherwise, I encourage doing takeout, I have always had luck with takeout here. read more

Just stopped here for drinks, so I can't review the food. But the drinks are very strong - I would suggest no more than one rum runner, even though they are yummy. You want to be able to walk when you get up from the table, haha.. I did have some chips and salsa, which were... Well, chips and salsa. Hard to screw that up. Service was prompt and friendly, and I enjoyed the outside cafe atmosphere. The little mall that this place is in makes it tricky to see from the road, though. I wouldn't have found this place if I hadn't been there browsing the mall shops. Now go get your drinks on :) read more

During the St Clair music festival (fantastic, by the way), we've gotten to-go on several nights. The menu is limited, but still the best in town. We've gotten the Chicken Cesar wrap & Philly cheese steak. (One on boat night - a seriously crazy night.) Both were great. The chips were pretty salty one night. I think someone salted them 3 or 4 times. Need to work on that one. And very good service from the bar for the to-go orders. read more

This is a wonderful little spot in St Clair. Located in the Plaza, it's smack in the center of the action. Outside tables, inside tables and a beautiful bar provide pleasant options. Food is good. I understand inflation has caused prices to go up, but the price to what you get at anchor point does not match. The pesto chicken sandwich is $17 and is served on grocery store bread and underwhelming to say the least. There was no flavor to the chicken breast and really no flavor to the overall sandwich. The pulled pork pasties were also bad. Dry pulled pork with carrots and peas from a spartan frozen veggie bag served with gravy for $17 again. I would say there was about 2 ounces of pulled pork in the two pasties, but hey, the pork had smoke flavor so it must be worth $18! This place must base there prices on 800 percent profit margins?!?! Anchor Point is charging prices that reflect gourmet products and it is just not gourmet. Just look at the bread in the picture below. At a New York deli you would pay $18 for a sandwich, but at least you get a think slice of sour dough and a good size chicken breast, not wonder-bread and 1/8 of a dry chicken breast. Just disappointing. So much for the days of getting quality at a good price. Places are just reducing quality and portion. read more

Decided to stop in for dinner a couple weekends ago with mom and aunts and uncle, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals! When we first walked in the staff informed us it would be a 35-40 minute wait, so we decided to head next door and have a drink while we waited. 10 minutes later I received a text saying our table was ready! So don't be deterred if they give you a slight wait time, it was well worth it! My family ordered a few appetizers, the hummus plate with vegetables, the artichoke dip, and the southwest egg rolls. They loved every single one of them and nearly licked the plates clean! Lol Then we all ordered a variety of sandwiches, so my family could spilt and try everyone else's dinners. A mix of the slim jim, the crisp sandwich, and the beast burger. As I have recently adapted as vegan lifestyle, I was pleasantly surprised to see a menu item advertised as vegan, and really enjoyed my meal! I ordered the hummus veggie wrap, and I wasn't disappointed! Really happy to see even a small town like St. Clair was able to accommodate my needs, and would definitely recommend it to anyone else with the same interests as myself. Would DEFINITELY come back to The Anchor Point Bistro, whatever the owner and waitstaff are doing, keep it up, because you're doing it right! We happened upon this gem accidentally. I have to say, everything was fabulous! We had the spicy cheese curds to start. The sangria was perfect. We had the BBQ Jack Burger, Maine lobster roll and, the avocado and black bean quesadilla. All delicious! And can we talk about the potato chips that are made in house? Such a great restaurant w/ great atmosphere! All the staff was wearing masks & were very friendly & accomodating. We got our order as a take out & everything was packaged nicely & still warm by the time we got home. I got a half order of their Anchor bread, which if you haven't tried it, I highly recommend you do so. Total carb heaven!! I got their Feisty Feta Chicken Panini, which was as equally delicious. Loved the feta spread & the chicken breast was juicy & flavorful. I got a dessert of Peanut Butter Cake, which had I known it was $7.50, I wouldn't have gotten it. It's made by a bakery in Romeo & don't get me wrong, it was good, but I didn't feel it was worth $7.50 (almost as much as the Anchor Bread!).
