Great food, with lots of choices. My favorites are the hot meatloaf sandwich without bread, the veggie stir fry on rice pilaf, and omelets. The soup I love is the chicken dumpling. Dinners come with a choice of soup or salad. All are pretty standard family restaurant fare. Servers are nice and very friendly. The atmosphere is easygoing. Decor includes murals celebrating the location on the St. Clair River. On a nice warm day, do a takeout and cross thr street to the boardwalk park. Enjoy the river at one of the park's tables. Although pur greeting was delayed, and I went and got the menus myself, I will say our experience was very positive. Becca, our server, really made it that way too. She immediately offered to switch out my coffee for a fresh cup when she knew I wanted "fake sugar" and just went with the real stuff. We both ordered up the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs breakfast after getting positive feedback on the corned beef. And we agreed, ours was so good we would order it again. Total comfort food which was perfect for us following a long, cold day of showing. Overall, good food and Becca was a great waitress. Definitely will be coming back again. read more

Love the waitresses, but to allow some big mouth in the back to spew obscenities while everyone in the dining area has to listen to him is ridiculous! Fire the clown! He even had the stones to come out of the back to verbally assault one of the customers, saying "I'm a grown ASS man!" You got one of the words right pal... my softball team came in to this place with 20 people with a reservation and we sat down like normal but then the waiters came up to us, and said that they would not serve us until we were quiet and we weren't even talking so we finally went quiet and they started to take the order of our drinks and it was all normal and then they walked away and then my daughter softball team started talking a little bit, but it was barely even loud and the waitress came over and said you guys need to be quiet right now I don't know if you noticed, but you're in a restaurant, and then one of the coaches had to say that she's the boss of these kids then we saw waitresses talking to the manager about us when we weren't doing anything I definitely do not recommend to come to this place. It is a horrible restaurant and the people are so mean. read more

Stopped in here for a quick dinner. It was a neat place with a nice riverfront view if you walk a across the street. However, it has the great view, just wish the meal was a tad better. My chicken pita was fine, but it's super hard to mess that up. My coney dog was good, but like 80% good and I couldn't quite figure it out. But what got me was the bacon....it was too over cooked and I didn't have time to return it nor should I have too. Good food for reasonable prices. We've been here a few times and it's been good. I ordered the tuna melt this evening and it's good. I had also had the Texas Melt, which was ham and turkey with cheddar and Swiss cheese on Texas toast. It comes with fries. I like the chicken noodle soup better than the chicken dumpling, because it is way too thick, more stew-like than soup. You can always count on a hot meal here, the food is average but has a homey feel to it. My husband loves the hot turkey and gravy with fries. I usually stick to the cheese burger. The staff is very attentive and friendly. This is a reasonably cheap dinner out when it's to hot to cook. read more

We went here in spite of some of the lackluster reviews. This place is a solid three stars. The quality of food and portion size for the price are right on in our opinion. The waitstaff was helpful and friendly and for having a party as big as ours, all meals were correct, brought out hot, with the exception of one soup, and quite tasty. Many of us had the AYCE Cod and French fries, which were pretty good. The batter and fries were crispy, the coleslaw is decent, and the portion size is large. In fact, no one in our party ordered seconds because we were full. It was a deal at $9.99. The Mac and cheese serving was ridiculously big and will probably be munching on it for a few days. Won't be going back anymore. Used to go there all the time, but twice now, bad or not so good food. Owner gave us a $20 credit to come back and tried it again. Disappointed w the service (slow) and was told that could not take home leftovers because it was left from a second helping of ayce cod! Didn't order more to just take home, just couldn't finish the rest of the 2nd order, please! I have never heard of that one before. The food is alright but they do screw up here and there. Typical of what you would expect from an average diner. My fiance go there when we're lazy or craving Saganaki but the experience does leave us feeling a bit disappointed afterwards. I have gotten cold food on more than one occasion and for there always being so many women there working sometimes it can be a nightmare to get anyone's attention when they're always talking by the bar. (There is one girl who is a damn super soldier when it comes to coffee refills though. I really wish I knew her name to commend her here.) The restaurant is also... Kinda dirty? Everything has dust, booths are separating from the wall. Theres exposed foam on the seats and we are harassed by flies everytime we go in. The only food I've had there that I'd actually recommend is the Saganaki or the potato pancakes. They never do me wrong on those two. They recently changed owners and a lot of there food has changed. I have found that there marinated chicken is dry. The food was much better under the old owner. Also the waiting staff has changed quite a bit in the last few months. I feel like the waiters that have been there from the very beginning are the best, the new waiters have no personality and are sometimes a bit rude. read more
