Beautiful Soup is one of Detroit's latest & tastiest pop-up ventures!…read more The operation is spearheaded by Angela, a talented young cook whose focus is geared towards making healthy comfort foods readily available at an affordable cost. As the name suggests, soup is the primary focus but make sure you order a couple side dishes to get the full Beautiful Soup experience. What does this mean? Each dish is prepared with the UTMOST care & attention to detail (from the ingredients, plating and menu design). WHAT I LOVE MOST is everything is made from scratch, seasonal & local ingredients are used (means the menu* changes each time), the price is just right ($12 will get you soup, 2 sides, and dessert & the portions are well balanced), everything is scrumptious, AND most importantly the TLC that goes into making each dish really shines thru - love it! FAVORITE DISHES: Cauliflower Fritters, Quinoa Salad, Kale & Brussels Sprout Salad, Harvest Frittata....oh and try any of their desserts - ALL are excellent! FAVORITE SOUPS: Lemon Rice, Pumpkin, Lemony Lentil and Mulligatawny. Def try to make it to the next Beautiful Soup event! : ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Check their FB page to keep up to date on when they'll be hosting their monthly lunches & dinners at MOCAD, upcoming cooking classes, and what type of soups are available at The Bottom Line Coffeehouse (over in the Midtown/WSU campus area) during the week. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *Vegan & Gluten-Free options are available

River Run Restaurant - Classic schnitzel

River Run Restaurant

While at the VW van event in the area, formerly knows as Bayfield Volkfest, and now in Goderich,…read moreand enjoying the summer like weather at the end of September in 2025, we ventured out for a restaurant meal and found this gem at the local gold course called The Maitland. I was craving a schnitzel and they delivered. Friendly service from the staff there as they were just opening at noon that Friday and we were asked kindly to wait a bit before they opened. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal while seated at the corner table with windows looking out two different directions over the golf course. That itself, was a fantastic feature of dining her. Parking was plentiful, and the drive was fun going under the little arched train bridge. Worth seeking out in the area.

A hidden gem!!! No really... this place is hidden...down from the top of the hill near the main…read moredrag in Goderich and along a winding little roadway, you drive through an old stone tunnel that opens up to this modest looking little restaurant that is anything but modest when it comes to delicious food, and warm welcoming service. Is the atmosphere modern and high end....no... were we comfortable and had a great view... absolutely... A very cool menu cover opens up to a diverse selection of options to satisfy the whole family with some Eastern/central European favourites that caught my attention....My wife and son went with the seared salmon where I opted for the classic schnitzel....We were all completely satisfied with our meals from the salmon which was buttery, cooked to perfection (that a lot of places screw up) to my extra crispy full of flavour schnitzel on a bed of crispy yet soft spätzle...washed down with a cold Czech Pilsner and a classic gin martini... I was in a very happy place!! But that didn't stop my son from ordering the decadent River fritter... or I think we accidentally called it the River tail... no idea why... but it was delicious!! Looking forward to exploring the menu further on our next visit to Godrich!! Thank you!! Zeke
