Canada - land of great restaurants! (And comedy greats such as Mike Meyers & John Candy). Sideways is another great Yelp find. service = A+, Food = A+ (*for the brave....they got poutine here!), atmosphere and the rest = A+. I had a local beer - can't recall the name, but it was outstanding. Chicken sandwich & potato/dill soup - frigging SPOT ON! Great job guys, thanks for kicking ass and running a business the way it should be. -CHEERS

Delicious food. Great service. I always have a good time here. I don't get to come as much as I like. But Jessica, my usual waitress, always remembers me. I also like the wide variety of food. Great hipster vibe.

The wings were delicious here! They were still crispy despite being tossed in the sauce and had a variety of different flavours you don't normally see at a regular pub. We ordered Sriracha coconut lime, Korean bbq, maple garlic caramelized onion and second degree. It was $0.95 per wing and well worth it. The place was clean and the waitress that served us was attentive; refilling our waters regularly. There were five tvs in this cute little pub so I can imagine it being a really great place for people to have game nights. Whenever we are around this area I would definitely return!

WOW, I'm in love. The burgers were great, with jalapeno infused bacon. The meat always taste better in Canada, always. You could drive right by this place and not even know it was their, and what a mistake that would be. Walking in it seems like a really cool little bar, i would have never thought the food would have been this good. The poutine was really good (best is still in Montreal). Seriously, you think something so simple yet so many mess it up, not here. The salad had a great little zing to it, pear, candied cashews, blue cheese and nice fresh mixed greens. The dressing was incredible, and it wasn't drowning in it, it was applied perfectly. The brisket sandwich had such amazing texture and taste, the bread was great as well. The smoke was perfect, such complexity in the flavors of every dish. The girls working the bar and serving the tables were great. Perfect workers, fast, welcoming, friendly everything you would want from an employee. They even knew about every dish we asked about. Hat's off to the cook, I've eaten at all kinds of places from hole in the walls to some of the so called fanciest places. This guy is a great Chef, the way he infused different flavors into every meal, and it worked, is not an easy task. Bravo my friend, bravo truly... Dilly Dilly just kidding i wouldn't drink that garbage, that's for the thumb

Awesome place to eat! Food is always amazing. Nice atmosphere and good service. It is my family's #1 choice for food when we are in Sarnia.

My waitress was incredibly attentive and walked me through the evening's selections with such grace top marks for her hospitality! I eventually settled on a classic, hearty ensemble of steak, potatoes, and onions, which was prepared to perfection. I must also mention the girl at the front a stunning blonde with just the right amount of fabulous attitude. It gave the whole experience such a chic, spirited character. Frankly, it was all quite perfect! I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of my visit. This place has such a unique soul, and I shall certainly be returning very soon!

The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was good for sitting at the bar as a solo traveler. However, I did notice the place was massive and had plenty of seating. The night I was there there was a comedy show, I only caught the first few minutes, it seemed great, except for the fact that I had to wake up very early in the morning and still had some work to catch up on. This is now on my list of places to go when I am back in the area.

I've travelled quite a bit to Sarnia on business. I've heard from local colleagues that I should try Halibut House Fish and Chips. What drew me was the fact that they served haddock as one of the fish, and I have had fond memories of haddock fish fry. My colleague and I went there the other night and we really enjoyed our dinners. Both of us tried the haddock (and I also tried the cod which was also excellent). I loved the accompanying cole slaw which was not mayonnaise based, but vinegar based. The fish was a very large portion. It was not greasy (because they fried it at a high temperature), and it was flavorful. Lots of other places don't pay much attention to frequent change out of their fryer oils which take on a bitter taste and will be imparted to the food. That's because the structure of oil has changed from their use. This was not an issue at Halibut House. I didn't notice any after-taste. My compliments to the crew for paying attention to these details. The batter was very light and it complemented the fish, which was very fresh. As the frequency of my travel there is increasing, they can count on my future visits.

He looked a lot fancier than I expected, but still comfortable to come here for lunch. There was one server and quite a few tables, which I think posed the initial challenge. There were three of us and we each ordered something different. One colleague what are the tacos another a butter, chicken sandwich and I ordered the chicken tikka flatbread. After about 45 minutes of waiting, our food arrived, and it was absolutely delicious. I don't think I've ever had anything like that before and I'm sad that I am not local and may never have it again. Everyone was pleased with their meals. We had to ask for the check as soon as the food arrived and sadly couldn't afford any more time to savor it as much as we all wanted to. I would absolutely return but at dinner time when you can allocate possibly two hours.

As for the food... here's where the stars go down. We tried the buffalo chicken poutine and the butter chicken poutine- both were okay at best. Buffalo chicken poutine had sparse toppings and a mild flavor profile. The butter chicken poutine was much more saucy- but at the expensive of flavor. The curry tasted more like american chili than any butter chicken I've ever tasted. Maybe stick with more simple items at this establishment.
