The given night I came here Driveways was playing and I must say it was a super fun show it sounded good the venue was awesome for music and the staff was very nice at the door! My gps did put me in the wrong spot so keep in mind that it's around the corner so if you don't see it right away keep venturing and you'll find it! This place is great! We went for a live jazz performance. There is no food, just a bar. We were in section B and honestly it was great! I wouldn't recommend section C - they had those tall metal chairs that look uncomfortable in that section. I honestly wish I'd got section A, but those shows sell out so quickly that it seems harder to snag those. The sound was amazing & the band was really talented. The look/vibe is really great too! The doors don't open till right before showtime, but there's covered tables & chairs to sit & wait. Parking was a bit tight. The doormen were very fast & efficient. Everyone was friendly too! Overall I really like The Abbey & am going back again in a few weeks, Oh - pro tip - there's an absolutely OUTSTANDING sushi restaurant around the corner & they were very accommodating when we said we were in a hurry to get to the show on time. i had a blast here at the abbey supporting my friend that plays in sarah & the safe word for a concert they held. demi the dare devil & moonwalker also played !! first things first, the space is a vibe. it's cozy, ambient, & has a lot of areas for lounging, enjoying the music, & conversations. the bar was fully stacked & bathrooms were clean! i enjoyed that the floor where the listeners gathered was a few steps below the front foyer so that it had a feeling of being surrounded by the music. kudos to the sound team for having an excellent hand in running the show smoothly. one note for anyone looking to play - the back rooms where the bands had their rest was nicely spaced, w/ it's own restroom set up - as well as a quick step outdoors where you can get a breather. I came here last night for a Curren$y concert, and he put on a great show. However, if you know the type of music he makes, then you know the type of crowd this was going to be. I'm not sure why The Abbey booked him with all of these strict rules. I've been to see him multiple times live in Orlando and this was by far the worst venue for his type of show. Almost felt like we were being babysitted by security the entire night. Drinks were also overpriced and the specials they had, majority of the drink were filled with ice, and not enough alcohol. I hope he NEVER comes to perform at The Abbey again! read more

This week I visited The Abbey in order to attend a Candlelight Concert. A string quartet played some of the popular neo-soul classics as we seat in a dark room only lit by candlelight. It brought tears to my eyes of how beautiful they sounded. It was such an awesome and relaxing experience. It was pretty quick (about an hour) and I would have preferred less introduction of the music and more playing. The staff was extremely friendly and available for questions. From the greeters to the ushers that help you to your seat. The room was pretty dark so it's hard to review the actual venue with less candles then you see in the advertisements. read more

What a great venue. We drove from Tampa on a weeknight to see a show. I will admit, we rarely go to Orlando for anything due to the traffic and uncertainty of knowing the area. We quickly found street parking (no charge!) and if you can't, there are parking garages near. The gate attendants were quick and friendly. We entered the club and were warmly greeted again. Our order was taken immediately at the bar and suggestions were made as well. The bathrooms were squeaky clean. The night we went it was a standing show. I'm not sure if they ever have seats. We didn't see any food options but I think there might have been. The sound was great. We would go to the Abbey again if a performer we follow was there. It's an intimate and unique music venue located in the heart of Orlando. It's going to be hard to have a bad view and had decent acoustics. It can feel crowded during a sold out show but the bar service and clean restrooms serve the venue well. I don't love the parking situation - you may have to walk quite a bit if the lot next door is full or if you want to save money by street parking. read more

What was supposed to be a romantic night of oldies love songs featuring classics from Elvis to the everly brothers, Celine Dion and lady Gaga wound up being classical music of Botticelli and Rachmaninov. I know the play list is tentative but this was not even close. Left after the first song which was featured in Step Brothers. This play list could've been titled music to slit your wrists to. Awful. The only good things were the wonderful employees and the talented bartender. read more

We attended a Candlelight show at The Abby which also was our first visit. The event was beautiful. A string quartet based in Orlando played Halloween themes and spooky pieces. The room was filled with 3,000 electric candles. They have a full bar available and street parking near the building. We used pay lot next door that was easy. We came here for New Year's to see the Depeche Mode tribute band. There was no valet parking so we parked in a little lot next to the Abbey. Price was $10 but quickly change to $15 when we got there. We got into the Abbey no problem they didn't check our purse or give us any hassle about your purse size. The place is large with some couch seating on the right and high top tables in the back. Sound is awesome. Large stage. Outsides patio for the smokers. Drinks are good and range anywhere from $6 to $8 for a whiskey and Coke. They were offering specials which was nice. Self-serve water with ice and cups which I thought was nice You don't have to stand in line for a glass of water. Bathrooms are clean and up to date. Very nice venue. read more

I have positive fond memories of the Abbey. Usually, we go to see some kind of comedy or stand-up comedians, so I associate the Abbey with a good laugh. The venue is small and intimate which results in the fact that there is literally not a bad seat in the house. I've visited the Abbey twice in the past two months and I'd say it's a really great spot. The first event was a pop-up market on a Sunday where they were hosting Orlando Local Makers and their selection of vendors. I actually ended up purchasing a few things . This particular day they were offering waffles and a full-bar. Although I thought it was a great market - it was indeed a little dark in there for a Sunday. This week, a friend of mine gifted me tickets to Candlelight x Coldplay by Fever events and this particular one was being held at The Abbey. I thought it was a perfect venue for this experience - dark, intimate, and dimly lit by candles. My only complaints were that it was not fully blacked out, some light was filtering in which effected the overall vibe and the chairs were a bit uncomfortable. However, I'm aware this may not be The Abbey's issue, directly... since the event was being held by a third party vendor. In the past, I use to visit The Abbey for cocktails/additional shows. I'm not entirely sure what their schedule is like these days but I hope to visit again. read more

Cute venue for events and small shows. I was here to see a friend in a play, and even in "nose bleed" it was great. Note, I would have gotten VIP to see him but they only had these seats left when I went to purchase them. He was worth every penny. It is the perfect place to see a stand-up comedian, a play, or burlesque dancers. Whatever you wish to see, it is a great venue. If you have a company event, or even small wedding it is ideal. read more

Great experience, first timer. Cannot wait to go back. Loved the ambiance and great singer. Sweet personnel and bartenders along with great prices. Loved it. Any Zone is a great zone, I was in C and actually preferred it, closest to the bar and slightly elevated, had a great view, access to drinks and by the bathroom. Do recommend a slightly early arrival because seating is first come first served, they try to fill the rows up as you enter. Already purchased tickets for upcoming artists, that's how much I enjoyed it. They don't serve food but around the corner from yummy The Stubborn Mule and Neveyah so you have options. The show is just about 1 hour, I was able to have dinner in downtown Orlando after the 9pm show. read more

This was my first time at The Abbey, we came to see a comedian. There was security at the event, so be sure to have your ID and no weapons. When we visited there was one security guard checking ID's, bags and people, not very efficient but he was very nice and while quick, he was through. We quickly found a seat and then a couple of us headed to the bar to grab a couple of drinks. The prices at the beer were much more reasonable than expected and the selection of beer was surprisingly abundant. The sound system was mediocre, very tinny sounding and high pitched. So luckily we were just here for stand up comedy and not a band's performance. The chairs are very uncomfortable. I found myself moving around and squirming a lot due to them being so uncomfortable. I was so grateful when the show was over, so I could stand up. I loved the intimate venue and would defiantly return. read more

I booked this candlelight concert on fever. It was around 40 each ticket at the Abbey. We came about 5 minutes late and got bad seats in the back so our view wasn't the best. I suggest getting there at least 20mins early to save your seat and maybe get some drinks to set the mood while your waiting. It goes without saying the best part was the violin music. I know it's a lil cheesy but violin + Coldplay speaks to the soul. A very nice romantic evening it was. read more

It's crazy that this was my first time to the Abbey. I've heard so many stories about this place. Tonight we came out here on 80's night to see Jeff LaRoche's last show with Rockit Fly (he is retiring). Jeff has been with Rockit Fly since the begining (10 years now) and we are going to miss his fun loving, energenic, rock Guitar-God persona. Thankfully, Jeff is a long time friend and we will be able to see him on occasion outside the Rock Arena. The Abbey is quite a large indoor venue. Lots of room for dancing or just standing to watch a band. Rockit Fly filled this place to Max occupancy by the beginning of the second set. A few songs in, Pedro (Rockit Flys singer) brought out two former members of Rockit Fly, Tommy and Ryan to play a few songs in a celebration of Jeff's retirement. At this point it got wild in here! Everyone was dancing, beach balls were flying around it reminded me of spring break. We had such a great time. The Abbey had some really good beer specials going on, $4 Goose Islands and $4 16oz Benediktiner Octoberfest. The acoustics here are not the best because of the hard surfaces but once the Abbey started filling up with people, the sound man was able to dial in the audio. The bathrooms here can get a bit congested. One urinal and two stalls in the men's room. Not good enough for a venue this large. Especially when everybody is drinking. The patio can get congested as well. It's near impossible to get to a section of it because a large table and railing blocks the path. This could be a safety issue with a bunch of drunk people running around . Even with these miners issues, we had a great time regardless. We plan on returning to The Abbey in the future for another 80s night! read more

We just had our annual company meeting at The Abbey. It's a fantastic venue for events. They have built-in technology with video screens and lights and at a very reasonable price. So this venue had great options to customize our meeting experience. I was also impressed with Russell, our contact throughout. He was very responsive to communication requests and went above and beyond during the entire day of our event. I have attended concerts, comedy shows, and dj events there over the years, and it's just a great intimate venue for events and wanted to share. read more

PROTIP: If you need a comfortable seat, show up early. There are only a few soft seats. Everything else is a hard chair. The Abbey is a nice little event spot. Not too large, and not too small. My inner Goldilocks is pleased. The acoustics can be a little rough, but I don't know if it's like that all the time. There's a bar with pretty good prices I guess, and space for food to be set up if you have a caterer for your event. I don't think the Abbey itself serves food. I would definitely come here for more events. read more

Came here for a 2-day conference and it was a bit tougher than I expected. Pros: *a great location in Thornton Park area with lots of restaurants/bars *different types of seating available: outside, inside, high-tables, lounges/couches, etc. Cons: *uncomfortable chairs; the same ones used at weddings *VERY dark. We had scheduled a tour for wedding venue around a week and half prior with email contact in between. I was very willing and exited to put money down and schedule our wedding date we just needed to see the space and tour before giving any money or signing contracts. However when we arrived we were not expected to be here and the light techs were setting up for an event in a few hours. We felt bad for interrupting their set up but Blue did the best she could with touring us as Russ who was with events did not show or contact us they would not be showing up. They did not even bother with verbally informing us about any questions or info we needed while on the phone with Blue while we were there. Again blue was fantastic and the saving grace of this review but after that experience I was immediately turned off once I sensed disinterest and no professionalism from events team. To top it off I was in a wheel chair disabled recovering from surgery. So it was a journey to park and roll out to the event space in down town Orlando. Quite inconsiderate that Russ put Blue in the position and did not have the decency to verbally speak on the phone to reschedule with us. It ok that we great we found out about this now rather than on wedding day or after we put money down. read more

They had an Event, based on The Office show. The event was a walking tour figuring out who the Scranton Strangler was. The event cost $40 and there was fees of $7 per ticket so it was expensive. I expected something exciting, and cool. When we got there I was so disappointed because it was tough to watch. It was so crowded and hot, the acting was abysmal. The main clue was given at the first stop, the tour was supposed to be an hour and a half but it was merely 45mins. Over all it was a disappointing experience, not worth the price of admission. read more

I love this place. The venue is great, not a bad seat in the house. And the ticket prices for the shows I have gone to have been so affordable. The bar inside does their job. Drinks aren't cheap - stick with beer - those prices are much more reasonable. My only complaint is that since it is not stadium seating - all the seats are on the same level - when the rude people in front of you stand - then you have to stand. The last show I went to was the HardRockRevue and I understand that theses guys are indeed HOT, but I wanted to see them the whole time too! I couldn't becasue the group in front of us kept standing up and holding their phones above their heads to video. SIT DOWN!!!! I'm 5'9", once you stand then I have to stand and then the people behind me don't have a chance. PLEASE be respectful - stay in your seats for the show. read more

I thought the location was easy to get considering parking ... make sure you bring ID! If you enjoy a stiff drink this is the place. If you don't, you might want to request that the bar go easy on the alcohol. There's an outdoor seating area which is nice place to hang out as well. Would definitely recommend the Abbey! read more

We attended the Monster Comedian of the year at The Abbey tonight. The venue is actually nice. It's not very big but it's not too small either. It's just right. We did the GA tickets which was fine. They had the general area by the bar and right in front of the bar. There are some lounge sofas, tables and chairs. The reserve seating are lined up chairs facing the stage and the VIP section is on the side of the room. They had a fake fireplace on one side of the wall. Cool lighting fixtures. It almost like you're inside the entertainment room in a big house. The bathroom is clean. Except only one sink had working water to wash your hand. Drink is price reasonably. They have free water at the bar if you don't want a beer. I would come the Abbey again for an event. read more

The Abbey is a nice venue. There is a bit of a vampire bordello feel to it -- darkness, velvet curtains and a nice long hardwood bar -- that made me feel very comfortable. The ambience is suited to both relaxation and conversation -- perfect for the business event that I attended there earlier this week. The space is divided into two areas - an upper area (including the bar and very limited seating) and a lower area that can be set up as a dance floor/mosh pit or with theater seating. The lower area is wheel chair accessible. I drop the Abbey a point because while it is a fun room, it does not rise to a level of elegance or poshness that would make it stand out for a really important event. Also, we had technical difficulties (with the sound) for the event that I attended and that is not a good thing for any venue to experience. The bathrooms were clean. Any venue that offers live music and clean bathrooms gains my appreciation. I would definitely consider holding a private event at the venue and I will not hesitate to return. read more
