This bar has been around for over 25 years. It is right next to my house. I started having rock bands here and sometimes we have benefits. Great place for music and dancing. I am not from Florida, but came in while visiting, and had a great time checking out this country line dance bar! There were a lot more line dances than what I'm used to seeing in Nebraska bars, with just a few couples dancing on the perimeter. Most of the line dances were about a medium level, with some harder and some easier ones mixed in. It was clear that this place is packed with regulars, since every single song had an absolutely packed dance floor! There is very limited seating here, almost everyone stands around the dance floor. They are not on it. We were able to find a table when a couple left, and set our drinks here. During the couple hours we were here, another group joined our table, asking if they could use our chairs and some of the space. I walked around this bar for a minute, and noticed that they also have karaoke in the back room! This location is much bigger than I expected, although the dance floor itself is not very large. I would definitely come back to this spot if I find myself here again! Although I didn't know many of the dances, having learned most of what I know from Nebraska, it was still a great time, and a good vibe for country dancing. read more

Up until the last couple of years I only visited the Barn on rare occasions; however, recently, they have been hosting quite a few exceptional charity events with some of our favorite local bands and many new ones who travel here to support the cause. First off, this venue is huge. They have two stages in separate areas of the building where two bands can play simultaneously if needed; there are two full bars with more than one bartender working making it easy to get a drink; several pool tables and other games available if you're feeling competitive; a massive dance floor perfect for line dancing and other dance genres. Staff, especially bartenders are very friendly. The bar area clean and most times the restrooms are as well. The inside of the Barn is absolutely gorgeous; one of my favorite parts of attending an event here is taking-in the beauty of the stained wooden interior, it's a must see! Drinks are on the pricy side. I usually stick to beer here because it's cheaper than mixed drinks. Almost all their beer is $7 each. The sound and lighting for concerts can be hit and miss. I have been coming here a lot lately and it seems like they just can't get the lighting right. My biggest complaint is not being able to see the bands from the dance floor. I wish they would have made the main stage just a bit taller so everyone in the middle or back can see what's going on. If you really want a good view of the band, be sure to get the VIP tickets so your right up front. Plus, it's so much easier to leave your spot for a drink and get back without much hassle. I'm not much of a country music fan, but if you are, I highly recommend stopping in to experience all the Barn has to offer. They usually have great live county music events lined up, line dancing, line dancing classes, truck pulls, a weekly lady's night, and now rock-n-roll/heavy metal shows. It's great to see the Barn is taking a risk and branching out by hosting other genres of music. Keep up the great work and the community will continue to support you. We recently visited the Barn with some friends. I have never been here and to be honest this is not my scene. I think it is fun for what it is but not for me. This is a country western "club" inside a very large barn. They play really loud music and have line dancing. There is a cover charge, the night we went, ladies were free and men were $7. They prefer cash but cards are ok. Once inside it was very crowded and very hard to find a place to stand. They had a few tables which were already full, a few walk up bars and then a few railings to lean on. We finally found a spot near the dance floor. What was so surprising to me was how much everyone knew the dances! A song would play and the dance floor would be full with everyone line dancing, then the song would end and half would leave, I guess they didn't know the line dance. We honestly did not even attempt to enter the dance floor as we had no idea the routine! I will say that the drinks were cheap. Bottles of beer were around $4 and again they preferred cash. There was also a guy walking around handing out blow pops. Everyone had one! We chose to pass. My issue with this place is the cleanliness. As I mentioned this is not my scene but the floors were very sticky. The bathroom only had 1 soap dispenser and it felt not clean. I understand it is a bar, but the bathroom at least should have more than one soap dispenser. The music is also incredibly loud that it was hard to even hear the words. Overall, this is not a place I would return to. If you like to line dance, want to people watch or get some cheap beer, then definitely head over here. It has been here for awhile so I know it is popular. Water bottles are $1 and they do not give free water. We have never been here and to be honest this wasn't our cup of tea and luckily we did not stay very long. I have honestly never felt old before but this night I truly did. They play really loud music and have line dancing. There is a cover charge, the night we went, ladies were free and men were $7. They prefer cash but cards are ok. Once inside it was very crowded and it was difficult to find a place to stand. HOW POC ARE TREATED AT THESE COUNTRY "CLUBS" I'm posting this here because Google Reviews tends to be biased and heavily restricted. My friend and I decided to go to The Barn on Friday night. I paid for both of our cover charges. Let me just say--these places are often extremely biased and predominantly white, and this will definitely be my last time going there. While we were in the bathroom taking photos, we saw the N-word written with the hard "-ER" on the chalkboard, along with some homophobic slurs. I immediately alerted the staff, and this is where my real issue begins. The blonde girl I spoke to could not have cared less. She looked me up and down and just said, "Oh wow, that's crazy," with zero apology, empathy, or concern. After seeing a racial slur like that in the bathroom, I asked for a refund. If people feel comfortable writing that kind of hate on the walls, I'm not about to spend my money somewhere I clearly don't feel welcome. She told me she couldn't offer a refund--which, okay--but I've seen the owner compensate others with free drinks or special treatment if their order is wrong or they complain about service. I tried to explain to her that reading something like that in a predominantly white space is incredibly upsetting. Her response? She gave me a dirty look and said, "You're not the only Black person here." I looked around. There were maybe seven of us in the entire place. I also left a review on Google, and the owner responded with passive aggression and microaggressions. He opened his response by mentioning how much I paid for my cover--why even bring up money unless you're trying to imply I'm broke? I requested a refund because, after seeing what I saw, I no longer wanted to support that business. He also claimed that the staff member "handled the situation well." She absolutely did not--she made me feel like I was the problem, like I was some kind of alien for being upset. He ended by saying I should've asked for him directly. How was I supposed to do that when the blonde staff member shut me down and made it clear she didn't care at all? In a decent situation, she would've at least apologized and said, "Let me get the owner for you so we can make this right." Another issue I have with this business is their social media presence--it's extremely colorist. They rarely tag people of color, especially Black guests. The owner proudly said he has Black staff--maybe two employees--while the rest of the team is overwhelmingly white. This is exactly why DEI and diversity training are so important. That blonde staff member handled the situation horribly, and it speaks volumes about the culture of this place. read more

The Barn was an excellent venue for a live concert and thought they pulled off a metal show pretty well. There were a number of different bars so you can score drinks in numerous places. The bartenders were friendly and quick with slinging up beers. Don't get too creative with drinks here, it's a keep it simple type of place. Beers, wells, and shots would be my recommendation. Went here to see Iron Maiden Drummer's band "Tainted Tart" (I agree, not the best name) and they had a set up on the "Main" stage area in the bigger area of the spacious building. There were two opening bands (Just Priest and Jetter) playing in the area off to the left when you enter. The neat thing is you cannot hear the other area's music when you're in a different area. The sound was good for the shows but not sure how dependent they are on the bands' staff or if it's The Barn's system. Either way, it takes a village and I was glad I went. It looks like they have other events besides country as well as they had posters for some little people wrestling and other fun stuff. Get there on time or early if you want parking as the lot can get full. It's a decent sized lot and I'm not sure where the overflow parking is. I can't comment on the line dancing and cowgirls and other stuff, but as a pure venue for small scale live entertainment, one of the better ones in the Orlando area. read more

Friendly staff. Lots of parking. Large dance floor. No free water here. Bottles are $1.00. Don't forget to get some The Barn merch while your there. Reasonable entrance fee. Came here for a girls night with some gals from work and had an absolute blast. This was my first time coming and I can't wait to go back. They had two lines- one for cash and one for card. If you want to get in quicker, definitely bring cash. I didn't drink that night, but I believe their drinks are pretty affordable. Music was great! I was following one lady's motions but it's not good for beginners unless you pay the fees and know the moves with training classes during the week. There weren't many young folks either. The most awful place ever I do not recommend completely ruined my birthday. Terrible workers with no compassion.

Was here with my wife last night to get some drinks and see some other friends. What we saw was a huge fight in the middle of the floor. From what we could gather there was a celebration of life and tension was a bit too much for the club. Security could not maintain the situation nor could the 6 or so cops that were at this place. Further more you could tell that the management was extremely unprofessional. As we left we could hear the managers or owners calling customers names that were not involved in the situation, it was sad really. This place has gone down hill over the last 10 years that we have gone there and we won't be going back. One thing you could see is that they focus more on money than they do their customers. We watched this entire event go down over quite a period of time and watched as the managers or owners did nothing. They saw it happen, they watched this boil up to it's breaking point and it looked as if the focus was to get money as opposed to protecting their customers and the staff. There was like 4 or 5 fights that we noticed as we tried to pay our tab. When you put your customers in danger over a dollar bill, you are failing miserably. When you call customers names regardless of what is going on, you are failing. When you allow your staffs safety to come into play, you are failing. Maybe you missed the shooting in Texas, people go on rampages for much less. Fix your establishment, it's not a good look. This is not the good country bar it used to be. It's a slum. read more

I went to the barn on both Friday and Saturday nights. The first time I ever went was on a Wednesday night because the website said they had line dancing classes, but when we went it was closed :( (maybe updating the website would be helpful?) Anyway, so we ended up going on Saturday night and it's $8 per person, and they take CASH only (no cards) for entrance fee. Also, there was a good group of people on the dance floor doing line dancing already to country modern music dances and there was also some regular music mixed in. The dances were a bit advanced. One of the ladies there told us Friday nights are more for beginners, which is what we were looking for! Line dancing classes are typically from 7-9pm. Also with your entrance fee, you get a little chip for a first drink on them. I thought that was cool. Our second round going was on Friday night, and yes, it was more our level - beginners. The instructor Lynn is super sweet and goes slow enough for you to get the steps down. We also took her business card so she can email us the step sheet of what we learned so we can go home and practice. The crowd is a little older (unlike cowboys which is more young and college age). But both country clubs are just as fun and the people, music and ambiance are really nice. I'd recommend it for a night out and a fun way to get some exercise in. I was sweating an hour into it! My only complaint is the smoking indoors. Other than that, it's ok- and the smoking isn't too stuffy at least. read more

Maybe it was the novelty of the place, but I LOVED it! At bars you can usually tell what intentions people have by observing them for a few minutes. On this Saturday night, it was obvious that this was a place for good ol' southern comfort, hospitality and a fun time. There is a karaoke room with a dj who plays rap/house/club music and people are either doing their own funky dance or bootydancing here. The main room plays mostly country music and has a huge dance floor. A lot of people know which dances to do for certain songs, and the whole dance crowd moves together like a choreographed music video. It's really quite amazing to watch! There were a lot of couples in their 30's and 40's, as well as a substantial amount of single men, clusters of women, and large groups of friends of all ages. My experience was amazing because of the vibe of the place. I didn't have to play defense for once.... The girls and I were able to do our thing without being constantly approached. While we did talk to some boys, they were nice, respectful country boys. Loved it! read more

The Barn. hmmmm ok I have been going here for a while now. The barn is very different than everything. its a country line dancing club thats been around since the 70s. its really old school. Don't let that fool you because there are some hot young cowgirls that go here. The deal at most of these clubs is that a certain night is super happenin and the rest of the week is just ok. At this club the best night is THURSDAY only. That is, if you want to meet chicks. If you want to relax and square dance with your honey, Then just go on any other night they are open. Thursday nights are awesome. Its 10$ to get in and free beer and wells 9-12. The bartenders are all very hot and the girls who come are easy... to talk to. It says on here that it is not good for groups but every time I go I'm with at least 5 or 6 other people. Also says it's not handicap accessible but I use a wheelchair whenever I don't wanna wear my prosthetic leg and I've never had a problem getting around this place. read more

I tell you when I drove up and say Country and Western I was about to turn around while I still could. Parking was easy and it had a security guard in the lot. I sat in the lot for a minute contemplating if I should go in and I thought the cop was going to come over thinking I was going to rob on steal a car but he did not! I will never come back to The Barn for another concert. We went on 8/31 for a Tyler Farr concert which had doors open at 7:00. Farr didn't go on stage until 11:50, almost 5 hours later. Review of the grand reopening of the Barn in Sanford. 1. They aren't completely finished and the Barn apparently won't be red anymore. It is cosmetic sure, but I much prefer the old scheme. 2. The inside hasn't changed much but some bars have been removed and space opened up. 3. HORRIBLE design of the outer most part of dance floor. They have managed to reduce the room by the bar / DJ area cramming people into a tight space. On the opposite side where the bathrooms are by the dance floor it's the EXACT same way. Who designed this? This is horrible and they need to remove those 2x4's that are just there sticking out and move it in some to open up the space around the bar area's so people can get in and get out. Not everyone wants to be on the dance floor so keep that in mind. 4. The dance floor that fell in, is no longer. It's a bit miscolored but that again is just cosmetic. I don't dance, I drink so it doesn't matter to me in the least. 5. Cover charge? This to me is the saddest part about this place and Cowbows alike. Who the hell charges a cover charge? Generally this is for minors but they charge it for adults too. This is sad this day in age. John Taffer said it best that when clubs charge covers it's because they have nothing to offer to keep people inside the bar. This seems to be true here. IF you have a cover it should be for minors only but then agaiin you should not have minors in a club anyway. What do they have to offer? Liability... that is it in a nut shell. They can't drink so THAT is why you charge them a cover charge. Adults should not have to be penalized. "A few dollars made off a cover charge or food pales in comparison to the consequences of a liquor suspension or lawsuit. Allowing underage kids as guests fosters many potential problems that every successful bar must avoid. The more underage guests that are allowed in the bar, the higher amount of kids aged 18-20 will show up because their friends are going. Some of these kids will use fakes and pass off drinks to their friends who are most likely plastered already because they know they cant drink openly.You also have guys that will buy underage girls drinks fully knowing they are underage, but at the end of the day liability falls on the bar owner not the patron." 6. Bar staff.. They were busting their ass last night. You didn't see any lazy bartenders just sitting back. The two ladies at the bar when you come in were gettinig destroyed yet they took it in stride. You could see the working the crowd and doing it fairly well. I applaud the wait staff... 7. The shot girls were probably some of the most miserable looking women I have seen. None of them were smiling, all of them seemed to have an attitude and the shot presentation even for a country bar was pretty sad. They need some work.. and the entire group of friends we had with us (10 people) all said the same thing, they didn't look the bar and they weren't attractive. These are the women selling your strongest money maker on the floor, they should be attractive. 8. Management.. As a frequent visior to the barn for 15 years this has been something that I have seen change a few times here and there. The current management is HORRIBLE! My wife has always pointed out the 60 year old bald headed owner as he calls him self that drives the lifted barn truck. (We know his name but won't put it here). Consistently he hits on drunk girls that look to be 20/23 tops. I have seen him touch them in my opinion inappropiately for a man and sais the most inappropiate things you can imagine all while getting them shots and trying to further their drunkness. On top of that, last year he was given a shirt that said something along the lines of I love young girls that he wore during a show. Are you ----- kidding me? It's disgusting and its quite repulsive. On a side note I have been coming through the door and ladies in front of my wife and I would walk in and see the bald headed owner and literally turn around and walk out. You would see the look of disgust on their face and probably shame not to mention very colorful comments. 9. No promotions.. If you weren't on their facebook page you would never know they were reopening. Last night they had a lot of birthdays of people my age all the way up in to their 70s (again, charging everyone adult a cover charge which is sad). Without those birthday parties and some dancers that seem to get their for lessons you would have had an empty club. They seriously need some help. Nothing on K92, only on 103.1 which I never listen to. They need an overhaul on their social media platforms and in management. Advice to management. We had over 2 months to find alternative places to go while you were remodling. These are still options... Management needs to treat this place like a business not a brothel. Stop charging adults cover charges that you will make back in drinks. Minors I get but this is a bar in downtown Sanford. read more

The Barn...Well it would certainly have it's perks if you knew all the line dances. You'd probably have to come to the classes for a few months though to get that under your belt. The drinks are OK if you like your cup filled to the brim with ice. Long story short, this seems to be a place for regulars. If you're not part of the regular crowd, then you probably won't have a good time. Being shot down 90% of the time I ask someone to dance is not my idea of fun. So if you go to the Barn be sure to bring your tight jeans, cowboy boots, and affliction T-shirt so you may get mistaken for a regular and have a good time. read more

We were at The Barn in Sanford for a concert and my neighbor gave a young man that worked there a $50.00 bill for reserved seating upstairs which they were offering. When we tried to go sit at the table which we had payed for a group of people were already sitting there and said they had already paid another $50.00 for the same table. We confronted the young man that we had paid and he denied taking our money, We then went to management and they weren't of much help either. We finally found a police officer and told them what had happened and they brought the worker that stole our money over to us and I asked him point blank in front of the officer if he had taken our money and he again lied with a smug look on his face and said he never took $50.00 from us. After an hour of demanding to see security camera footage the guy finally gave us the $50.00 that he had taken. We recently went back and the same guy was still working there! This tells me that the management doesn't care that they have a untrustworthy employee amongst their staff. I would check your change every time you purchase a drink or anything else while patronizing this establishment because they have at least on employee with sticky fingers!!!! read more

Not just for country folk, they have plenty of space 4 bars inside so you can always get a drink, they have karaoke in one part and line dancing in the other. they have special nights where drinks are only a quarter or a dollar and its a blast and cheap to BOOT. if you wanna o out and have a great night hit up this gem. they also have a foodtruck late night that cooks up some super tasty grub. read more

Thursdays $10 entry and quarter beers can't beat it! The worst part is the smoke from all the smokers. When you leave you need to basically douse your clothing in bleach and fragrance because it is so bad. This is a great place to find great drinks and easy times. read more

Okay, I just broke down and stopped in this past week and got a sip of dratt. Ahhh... the memories- of my time here in the 1980's. It was the first place I headed to "of course, this is not a fake I.D." he he I mean shoot what's 17 y.o. when you look 18 y.o. any ways. and great in Jeans? he he (Course, I Don't recommend this these days. I mean,I am a responsible Parent now a days.) Back then it was draft on tap or a "tall boy" in a can. A lot of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Gary Morris, Dolly and Kenny, Apopka's (I think) own John Anderson, Alabama, and I could go on, played over head. The fact is, it was a cool place " when country wasn't cool". It's nice to pass through and get a taste of a cold one, back when times were good and we had no Fiscal Cliff. Place looks better then in the 1980's. But what's up with the music? I mean, back in the day, the boys with skoal patches on their back pocket, with a push and roll bar on there trucks would have thrown their Beer on the Floor.
